Delg will give Kerby a nudge. “Off you go, I got the caboose.” Delg will keep an eye out for anything coming from behind. (If we go into the dark, he’ll light a torch.)
ooc: sorry for not having noticed the campaign thread
ooc: since we already started and there was not time to ask questions:
- implying we already had a description of the two we are after
- imply we have winter clothes and covers and tents to resist the weather
- let's assume (and @DM please reply) we asked something like "Excuse me, lord, but if you sent your children, we assume it was for a grave matter, even greater than their desire for adventure, isn't it? we should know what is possible, in advance. The more we know, the easier to avoid mistakes: if we know what we may face, we can come out of it...."
Kerby glares at the dwarf, being as he is very particular about his caboose, but never the less descends (trusting that his previous athletics roll and arcane jiggery pokery was taken into account). At rope's end, Lorminar's enthusiasm proves not to be contagious; The sorcerer trudges onwards, muttering to himself in low and incomprehensible tones peppered with frequent and easily heard expletives.

(As far as the residence of Okahurst know, there are goblins that show up in midsummer to sell a ruby red fruit to the highest bidder. Sometimes they come in midwinter to sell a corpse-white fruit. Others say they have found cattle and travelers dead with dozens of needle like wounds , but no one has seen what might be causing them. Also the two went willingly to the Citadel with two other adventurers: Sir Bradford, a paladin of Pelor and Karakas, a ranger; both are not local.)
The stairs are 5-foot-wide and roughly carved, but aren't dangerous to traverse. There are landings between each switchback the staircase takes that can be used to rest or prepare any equipment that might be needed. As the five of you traverse the switchback stairs a fortress emerges from the darkness. The subterranean citadel, though impressive, seems long forgotten, if the lightless windows, cracked crenellations, and leaning towers are any indication. All is quiet, though a cold breeze blows up from below, making already cold air seem even more colder. The breeze brings up the scent of dust and a faint trace of rot.
"That does not look like the kind of place that has room service" Kerby laments. "Shall we just knock on the door or does one of you want to skulk about a bit?"
"Perhaps now is the time for caution," Lorminar says as he pulls his bow to the ready as well as an arrow which he loosely notches on the string. "Knock if you wish, but I won't be the one to do it. We must discover a way in and a door is definitely the simplest way to do so."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Listening to the group deliberating Senry nods at Lorminars words and begins to stealthily make his way towards the structure keeping an eye out for traps and any entrance(can’t role on mobile to my knowledge so will role stealth and perception when I can unless dm wants to roll for me to keep progressing?)
The narrow stairs empty into a small courtyard, apparently the top of what was once a crenellated battlement. The buried citadel has sunk so far into the earth that the battlement is now level with the surrounding floor. That floor stretches away to the north and south, composed of a layer of treacherous, crumbled masonry, which reaches to an unknown depth. To the west looms the surviving structure of what must be the Sunless Citadel. A tower stands on the west side of the courtyard. There is one visible entrance on the tower, though you most certainly can try to go for a window.

To roll on mobile just type out "roll" in square brackets - imagine I'd used them here : roll]1d20+5[/roll
Or turn your phone sideways to get the toolbar, but you need to switch between both orientations a few times to find all the buttons on the roller dialog, it's a pain.
Advatage is "1d20ad+3" , disadvantage is 1d20da+3, there's a whole stickied thread for fancy rolls in the pbp forum
"You have the manners of a villain, Lorminar!" Kerby declares, though he makes no move to knock himself.

Lorminar winks at Kirby as he walks up to one of the buried crenelations. He then looks up back to the cliff. "This place really sunk far down. I wonder how it looked on the surface. Or why it fell at all. I'm not much of a historian, but I must admit it is intriguing when seeing it up close." Standing on the crenelation he will peer over Delg's shoulder to see what, if anything, lies beyond the doorway.
"Why indeed...."Kerby wracks his brain for something, anything that might give him a clever come-back. history : 10 - Damn, maybe he should have paid more attention to his tutor's words and less attention to the contents of her ill-fitting blouse.
Senry: As you quietly approach the door part of the floor catches your eyes and you notice that a 10-foot-square section is mission some of the mortar. As you are looking to see where a safe path might be Delg and Lorminar walk past you stepping onto that section of floor.
Delg and Lorminar: You both approach the door, as you step within 10 feet of the door there is an audible click and the floor below you swings open. You fall for 10 feet taking 5 bludgeoning damage. The pit contains two goblin skeletons, one of which has been dead for about a day. A giant rat pops out from behind one of the dead goblins and goes to bite Lorminar. (Attack: 17 Damage: 6 piercing damage)
Kerby: You rack your brain trying to think of something and vaguely recall that the citadel sank into the ground during the cataclysm. As you remember this, you watch as Delg and Lorminar walk towards the door and suddenly just vanish as a 10-foot-wide pit has suddenly opened up.
Everyone roll initiative please. Giant rat initiative: 12
Kerby waits for Sentry to say "abracadabra". When it becomes apparent that he's not going to, the sorcerer extends his palms, protesting "well I didn't do it!"

Lorminar shrieks in pain as the rat assaults him. "Argh! Get it off me, get it off me!" His left leg covered in the crimson of his blood, seems the one attack hit a vital spot on his leg and the bleeding doesn't want to stop.

Benagol is a young warrior in his twenties.
He is 1.85m tall, quite slim but very athletic. he has dark brown unkempt hair and black eyes, a short beard and quite long moustaches.
He is good company even if sometimes he is too ready for mocking and dirty jokes. He is not the most virtuos man ever, neither the cleanest.
He wears a horned helmet and a chain mail. he holds a glaive and from his belt a crossbow.
During the travel, he got on very well with the dwarf and he takes him into account for his healing properties
He goes down the rope as well.
