Rowan startles awake. A moment after, a pint of beer is brought to him and he sees the dwarf flip a coin to the barkeep without breaking eye contact or his conversation with the other dwarves. "Thank you for your kindness," Rowan says softly. Soon the topic of dragons causes a bit of a stir at the table. Rowan leans into the shadows a bit without thinking. His golden scales may cause unwanted suspicion.
Over the course of the next hour, Rowan learns the dwarf's name is Ragnar. Rowan listens carefully and considers how he might ask the dwarf if he would open to Rowan tagging along. Perhaps I can learn more about dragons and what happened to me.
(Character's name is Umnam Fireforge) "Yeah Dragon's usually have treasure hoarded but the trick is finding a party strong enough to deal with a dragon! Maybe this sleepy fellow can help take down the dragon but I am not drunk enough or stupid enough to try that on my own!" Umnam says with a roaring laugh. "So where can one find the library and this Roondar? Is anyone else interested in finding out more about this DRAGON?"
(Hopefully the others will join us again haha. I’ll contact them. You’ll meet Void soon.)
The female dwarf pointed out the window to a well-made stone building across the street with large wooden double doors. (More info upon a successful Arcana check or Detect Magic spell.)
“It’s right over there. Fanciest building aside from the Town Hall.”
"Well, I am heading over to the Library. If anyone is interested in joining, you are welcome to tag along. Thanks for the drink, next time it's on me!" I finish off my drink, stand up and head out towards the Library.
As the three of them approach the library, to Umnam it would appear to be glowing faintly with the thrum of Abjuration magic, warding against certain things coming in and/or from them getting out, though such specifics weren’t clear.
Umnam looks at Aba, smiles and says "Hello, my friend. What is your name? Looks like you are the only one with the guts to check on the dragon. Looks like we may have some type of magic warding going on with this library. This is interesting, I wonder if they are trying to keep something in or keep something out." He walks in and starts looking for someone in charge.
Inside the library, there were high vaulted ceilings, four towering bookshelves filled with books on all manner of subjects, two on each wall. There was a doorway into a hall in the back right corner, and in the middle of the back wall was a single wooden door. Floating around near the ceiling were odd silver and gold devices, spheres and crystals that were magic objects of some kind that each gave off a warm light to make the room feel cozier, along with the burgundy red carpeted floor. A tall ladder was leaning against one bookcase, and near the top, a male gnome, small at only around 3 feet tall, with wild gray streaked brown hair and large green eyes with a pair of small glasses perched on his nose, and wearing a gray robe trimmed in gold. He peered down as the visitors entered. “There should be another...” he mumbled to himself. He climbed down to face the three, looking at each curiously. “Welcome, welcome! I’m Roondar. You boys here about those dragon rumors? You have that look of adventurers about you.” he commented casually. From the back could be heard the low melodic tones of a violin being played. Roondar chuckled softly. “Looks like we’ll be having some music to accompany our chat.” he said with a small smile. There was deep intelligence in his eyes, but he was rather quirky as well.
"Hope you are up for this, Aba. I am just looking for a purpose again. I hope this is a good start. Hello my good fellow, yes, we are looking to hear more of this DRAGON?!?!?!" I wink back at Aba with a nod. "Where is the music coming from?"
Roondar arched an eyebrow. What a rather loud fellow. But enthusiasm wasn’t a bad thing. He chuckled. “Ah yes, there’s a red dragon that’s been flying over town recently. They make lairs in the mountains, so my guess is it lives in the nearby range. It’d be unwise to try to go after it as you are now though. Nasty business facing one of them. Even for a group of brave adventurers like yourselves. But...! Aha! Yes, there is something you could do to get stronger and help us out a little.” he said with a wide grin after messing with a few odd baubles on a table near one of the bookshelves for a moment. His grin faltered slightly at the question, but still was smiling as he looked towards the door on the back wall. He eyed them thoughtfully. “That would be Void. Quite the musician that boy is, though a little somber for my tastes sometimes. He’s under my care for now I guess you could say. I would say you could meet him, but you boys don’t have an issue with tieflings do you? One can never be too careful as I hope you can understand.”
"I can get along with anyone as long as they can get along with me!" I say with a deep laugh. "I would be in for taking care of some business. I agree we are in no way ready to deal with a Dragon. Tell us more about the items you have for us."
Roondar nodded and walked over to the door, knocking lightly. The music stopped and after a minute, the door opened slowly seemingly on its own. A teenage boy was sitting in a chair in a simple bedroom, holding a jet black violin with a violet crystal embedded in the handle. He had pale gray skin, pointed ears, tousled pure white hair with sleek black horns curling back into sharp points, a black arrow tipped tail dangling off the chair behind him, and black claws. He looked over at the visitors, his sclera also black while his irises were a faintly glowing silver with slitted pupils. He was wearing a long black coat with jagged violet diamonds along the bottom hem and sleeves, with a collar of raven feathers. He looked from Roondar to the others with a slight head tilt. “Well, don’t be shy. You get to introducing yourselves and I’ll be right back.” Roondar said with a twinkle in his eyes, whistling softly to himself as he vanished down the hallway.
Void frowned slightly and looked back at them. “You’re adventurers?” he asked quietly, standing and gently placing his violin and bow back into its case.
"Hello, my friend! My name is Umnam. I have recently changed my path in life and beginning to look for new quests. So your name is Void? It is great to meet you. Are you looking for adventure yourself or do you have quest already?" I reach out my hand.
“As far as I remember it is. I don’t remember much from the past.” Void said softly, cautiously shaking the dwarf’s hand like he wasn’t sure it was safe to do so.
“Ever since I found him, we’ve been looking for answers. Who knows? Maybe an adventure out in the world will help you find them.” Roondar said as he returned. “I took the wards down Void. Just try not to cause too much trouble eh my boy?” he joked lightly. Void just smirked faintly in amusement, shrugging and grabbing his violin case and a backpack. “I’ll go.. for the truth, whatever that is. If they’ll have me.”
Roondar nodded. “That’s the spirit! So, how do you all feel about testing yourselves against some orcs? Maybe an ogre or two. There’s bands of them out in the hills beyond the villaige that destroy our caravans from time to time. We don’t get many supplies here as it is, so we need those shipments. I can convince our mayor to pay you for your efforts.”

Aba smiled, and jumps up from where he had been sitting and quietly chatting. "I'll go!"

"My name is Ana" the man says, giving a small bow. I"love to find out whats going on."
