He gives the other members of Chaotic relief a sidelong glance and a cheeky grin.
Then Doozey strolls up to her and offers a hand. "The name is Doozey, by the way. Doozey Redfoot. And that big galoot is Biscuit. He ain't much of a fighter--" Biscuit lightly growls at Doozey, yet the halfling briskly carries on. "--as he used to be. But there be no finer chariot to ride into battle than a Tundra Mastiff."

"Before speaking with Captain Burral, perhaps we should at least attempt to get a first-hand account? It would help to know what we would be contending with a aside from a dracolich."
Villonah nods her head in appreciation to and agreement with Utar and Graxx. Next, she shakes Doozey's hand while giving him a pleasant and respectful grin that contrast somewhat with her still red and puffy eyes. Intrigued by the possibility, she asks: "Would you let me ride Biscuit at some point?" She looks at the dog to see if he approves.
"At the Stojanow Gate (marked as "B" on the map), I'd assume." The Doomguide answers Utar's question. Once Neya pops another question, he then replies while pointing to the centerpiece structure of the Valhingen Graveyard: "He is right here at the Temple of the Silent Shroud, within one of the priests' quarters that were unused until his arrival. Second one on the right, if I am not mistaken."
Most of you have entered this temple at least once before, when Brother Keefe took you to his quarters. The goal then was to share some of his items with you, hoping they would help you investigate the mausoleum all those months ago. You recall that the building's interior is quite simple in design, like its exterior. You also recall that priests' quarters are on the second of two floors.
Apparently satisfied with the outcome of the conversation, the Doomguide reaches for the gardening tools he has been balancing on his head this whole time and begins to crouch once more, lost in his favorite pastime.

While Doozey looked off the side going "Welllll", seeming to understand the question in part, Biscuit pads closer to Villonah and starts circling and sniffing at Villonah. I usually I have coax'em let others ride along." Biscuit boofs and stares Doozey right in the eye. "What do you mean they usually smell bad? You let Uncle Idrith ride along without as much a fuss." Biscuit growls lightly and looks away. "So that's why you weren't in much of a mood to eat back then. Bloody bastard bribed ya, eh?" Doozey squints. "Wait... Why you put up a fuss sometimes when I want ta ride ya then?" Biscuits turns back to Doozey and stares at his face.
After a moment's pause, Doozey puts a hand on his chest and reels back as if offended. "What do ya mean 'cuz ya 'ave ta tolerate me? I don't smell that bad, ya, ya.. ya daft, oversized baby Tundra Yeti!" Doozey claims, glaring now at the Mastiff. "Let's start with the person here close by at the Temple of the Silent Shroud. It's smart to get the first hand account from the boots that actually saw it rather than some officer.", says Graxx.
Graxx looks on in astonishment at Doozey.
"Can you understand what all animals say? Or just Biscuit here? I wish to have a steed one day and can only dream of having the same kinda relationship." says Graxx.
"I feel it's worth mentioning that if the sight of a dracolich, or the like, and the destruction of his home was enough to put him in a state of unrest, we should take care not to press him too much, lest he withdraws back into himself. And that's assuming we are able to to make him coherent."
"Now, having said that, I would like to know his story before consulting the captain.”
Watching the back and forth between the big mastiff and the halfling, Utar smiles. He can't help but like this dog.
Looking back round to the rest of CRAP, he nods, "Agreed, we're here and so is he, makes sense to ask a few questions now before we head off to do other things. Neya, do you have what you need to create this save for him?"
Villonah watches the interaction between hound and master and much like Utar, can't help but crack a smile. She then tries to calm the situation down a bit by refusing the much-sooner-than-expected offer to ride: "No worries, Biscuit. I won't need a ride to the temple right over there. Maybe later, okay?" She gives the mastiff one more pat, Doozey one last smirk, and then wipes the last few remaining tear streaks from her cheeks. She then allows her facial expression to turn to a much more focused one (the one you all remember best from last time you saw her), and begins walking to the temple ahead of anyone else.
A minute or two of walking is all the group needs to reach the temple at the center of the graveyard. You enter the Temple of the Silent Shroud, a solemn, cold structure made out of dark-gray stone. A single large statue stands right at the center of the circular atrium: a vertical skeletal arm, starting at the elbow and ending a good 25 feet up, where it steadily holds a perfectly balanced scale. Dim candles are the only source of light here. A few acolytes walk about, others pray in silence. In fact, you all remember from your last visit that Brother Keefe had made a point of staying silent throughout the walk to his personal chamber. Villonah continues to lead the group forward. She walks with purpose, as if she knows exactly where to go. A quick hop up a lateral stone staircase, and the group arrives at the indicated door. Villonah unceremoniously opens it.
A disheveled man with wild hair is tied to a chair in front of an open window. Deep, scabbed scratches cover his face and his hands are wrapped with bloody bandages. His eyes dart around the room almost without seeing, mumbling to himself. A young acolyte in grey robes changes linens on a nearby bed with restraints dangling from its sides. The boy nods at your entrance, "You may call me Elden, gentle masters. If you have any questions, I have seen to the man's care since last night, but note that once outside personal chambers, we are not allowed to speak."
After all six of you enter the room, Villonah closes the door.
"Can you understand what all animals say? Or just Biscuit here? I wish to have a steed one day and can only dream of having the same kinda relationship." says Graxx.
Turning back briefly to Graxx, then over to Biscuit, a melancholy smile spreads as the halfling pets the mastiff's head. "Only Biscuit here. 'nd its only sometimes. It used to be more when we first set out, but..." Doozey trails off there, losing himself in memories.
Stirred back to reality by Villonah, Doozey answers her smirk with a lopsided smile of his own, and would follow along on foot after coaxing Biscuit to stand and do the same. An effort Biscuit made all the harder by abusing the influx of attention to be stubborn about it all. Thankfully, Biscuits is on his best behavior while moving through the halls of the Temple. While there are times in which his halfling Brother has to pat his side to keep the beast from wandering off following passing acolytes, the two always manage to catch-up again to press on.
"The name is Doozey. Doozey Redfoot. And this here is Biscuit. Don't worries. He knows how to read a room better than even me at times." Doozey smiles sheepishly and steps up for a handshake. Once everyone got their pleasantries (or lack-there-of) out of the way, his expression turns solemn upon turning back to the broken man. "I don't suppose there been any kind of progress in the past few hours at least?" He asks without turning away from the man. Beyond this, Doozey is quiet and studious.

Graxx is intrigued by Doozey’s comments and makes a note to learn more of this art of speaking with animals. Even if it’s only a bond with one person. The thought of him owning a horse of his own and riding it into battle fearlessly. A rider... one with his mount in sync with the same desires. He imagines the stories he has heard of his god Tempus riding into battle standing on his two horses one foot on each.... Amazing!
Graxx steps up places a fist to his chest. “I am Graxx of the Sky Pony Tribe. Nice to meet you, Elden.”
Graxx steps back to let those skilled in talking handle this one. Normally Graxx would love to interrogate someone tied to a chair but he knows this situation does not call for that...
Acolyte Elden nods in turn to both Graxx and Dozzey once they introduce themselves. A third nod follows aimed at Biscuit, though that one was smeared with hesitation. Villonah too shares her name and gets a hesitant nod in response.
Answering Doozey's question, the young man says: "Yip here is given to bouts of violence, though mostly towards himself and thus the restraints. He has clawed his face, and later began to chew off his own fingers when I tried to stop him from hurting himself. It's been like that since we first got him, and there has been very little progress until now. I strongly discourage removing the restraints as it took several of the brothers to hold him down last time."
The bound man looks quiet and uninterested at first, despite what Acolyte Elden said. That does not last very long, however. A few seconds pass and the man begins to make a barking noise. Through it, Villonah manages to ask a follow up question: "Yip? You managed to at least get his name. That's progress."
Acolyte Elden then clarifies: "No, no... I apologize. We do not know his name. Yip is just what we have started calling him. It's after this yipping noise he frequently and repeatedly makes."
You all note that Elden's description is quite accurate. This yipping noise is quite annoying. The bound man continues to emit it, incessantly.
Neya responds to Utar, "I do believe I have what I need, they are not uncommon. But when it comes to matters of the mind, everyone is different. What may work for one person may not affect someone else."
At the room
Neya greets Brother Elden, "Nice to meet you, call me Neya."
After being introduced to Yip.
"Oh, my... That does present an issue. We had heard from Brother Yovir his circumstances and some of his condition, but not its exact severity. We wish to gain information that only he knows and were hoping to try and calm his mind to a degree where his able to give any sort of account. I know of some herbal compounds with such a goal in mind, but it seems is if the herbs effects might be more limited."
Once the proposal is mentioned, Acolyte Elden looks surprised: "If I'd allow it? No one ever asks for my permission for anything.... I... guess... we can try anything... We haven't managed much... And neither did that Black Fist lady.... so, try away... I guess... I allow it?" He shrugs, clearly not knowing how to wield the power of permission.
Both Elden and Villonah looks at Neya expectantly. The gnome warrior offers: "If you think it wouldhelpwith your herbs ritual, I can try some sort ofPrestidigitation."
(@Drache: If you'd like, feel free to describe what Villonah is doing with her cantrip in order to claim that help action for whatever roll you are planning.)
Doozey actually perks up noting the yipping, and for a while focused absently on it. A sense of wonderment and curiosity grew in expression, though never fully suppresses the overall solemness to it all. After trying to piece together whether the yipping was akin to some familiar beast or monstrosity, Doozey shakes his head as if coming out of a trance. "What were we-..." He notes Neya going for some herbs. "Oh.. ohhh.. Huh, That's not bad idea, Lady Neya. If there's anything I can do to help..." Doozey trailed off there, needing not say more.
Biscuit meanwhile had taken to sniffing at 'Yip' for his own investigation. Though any sudden jerks from the man swiftly cows the curious Mastiff.

"Yes... That might do the trick. Could you recreate the sounds of what his home may have sounded and smelled like? Hearing and scents are often associated with good memories. Those sensory cues may bring him back down while herbs try and anchor him."
At Neya's request, Villonah casts two instances of prestidigitation, filling the room with the sounds a vast farmland - the rustling of wind through wheat fields, the winny of a distant horse, clucking of chickens - and the associated smells.
As the spell is cast, Neya attempts to create a concoction that would induce calm.
At Utar's call, Acolyte Elden approaches and shakes his hand putting almost no strength behind the grip. Once both the half-orc and Graxx ask about the Black Fist visitor, Elden tries to clarify his earlier mention of a visitor. He speaks in whispers, clearly considering this some kind of gossip: "I don't know her name, but I could tell her rank was high just by looking at her armor and poise. Shortly after the man arrived, a female Black Fist knight with closely cropped blonde hair streaked with gray came and attempted to interview him. She asked his name and where he was from, but it did not go very well. Yip began raving loudly shortly after the knight attempted to question him. Eventually he began barking like a dog and tried to bite the knight before she gave up and left. In the end, no one knows who the man is, or exactly what happened, only that his mind seems gone."
Utar would know that description to loosely match that of Captain Aleyd Burral, though she did not have streaks of white hair from what Utar can remember from all those years back.
A few feet away, Doozey notes that the sounds made by Yip do indeed match those more generally associated with dogs, if not to mutts more specifically. Biscuit can smell the scent of days-old blood about the man.
Villonah asks both Doozey and Biscuit to take a few steps back as she begins to cast her sensory spells. She follows Neya's lead and just as theorized, manages to calm the bound man for a moment. He jumps a bit at the cold poultice's first touch, but does not seem to react very much otherwise. A few seconds pass, then a few more. Silence. By the time Neya is getting ready to try something else, the man releases a few pained words: "The eyes... The eyes of the Dracolich... It sees me... It is coming..."
After saying that, Yip begins yipping again, albeit a lot more softly than before. Taking that as a telling sign, Neya concludes that her poultice did all that it would do.
(OCC: You guys are free to try other things, of course, but I'm afraid that with that roll, this is all the herbs will accomplish...)

Graxx huffs after Acolyte Eden tells the story. Graxx turns to the others, a look of disgust on his face.
"Yip started Yippin' after the Black Fist lady came. Bet she cast a curse on 'em or something." says Graxx.
When Utar mentions music Graxx reaches into his bag to pull out a drum(proficient). He brushes the dust off of it looks to the group and lets out a little grin.
"This is somethin' y'all haven't seen before. Let me see if I remember how to play this thing. It's been awhile but it used to calm me when I'd be out in the wilderness alone travelin' down from the North."
Graxx will take his drum and make slow steady beats and see if that can calm Yip.

"I'm not sure if we should really be asking him to relive whatever brought him to this..."
Turning to Elden, he continues, "Is there anything that brings him comfort? Music, a certain scent?"
