Laievis observed the caravan entering the city with an open curiosity. "I see you managed to save the whole travelling circus," with dead serious face expression greeted he the rest of "Knights of the Hanged Chicken". "Our adventures pale before such an accomplishment. Please, do share! Over the cup of wine, of course."And he followed the group to the tavern.
Zyman turns to Edeleth, Rosri, Roscoe and Grunda, and asks in a hushed whisper: "Should we head directly to Gavin and tell him about the letter, or do we first want to buy new gear, so that we can't undo the purchases, should Gavin not want to part with the money?"
Edeleth says, "If you can't afford to give up all the gold, I suggest you extract a finder's fee to cover your expenses, which we can either mention to Gavin or not. In any case, the letter doesn't specifically state the amount of the gold Shorgreg left behind, so unless you are afraid of an angry dwarf father haunting you over a handful of coins..."
"In any case, I'd prefer we got the unhappy duty of informing him of Shorgreg's death over with as soon as possible."

Roscoe smiles as the wagon rolls into town. He hadn't called this place home but it did feel a welcomed sight. He stretches out his halfling arms and checks his gear before climbing down from the heights of the wagon. He follows the others preparing to head back to the chicken thinking about how hungry he was for some reason.
Zyman, after heading to the Hanging chicken, will certainly also make a visit to the libraries for some more historical and arcane research. He'd also like to stock up on some more specific gear, for the journeys ahead, and if possible, would like to find someone who could teach him more about religion in the realm.
For now though, he readied himself for the difficult conversation with Gavin, preparing Gavin's letter, and trying out different formulations in his head to make asking for money from a dead man's will less distasteful than it truly was.

Saerirra would join Laievis and Cade in speaking to the members of the traveling circus, but before dismounting Taranonn, she says to Uther, "Peshley seems to be finding a stable for Pony, I think we should have Taranonn boarded at the same stable, don't you? I think we're all going to meet at the Hanging Chicken like usual, should we get separated. Besides some certain parts, traveling together with everyone has been fun."
She would then gently place her hands on Uther's shoulders briefly before dismounting, standing next to Laievis and Cade, smiling as she watches the Gypsies dance.
Rosri wispers back to Zyman - “Well I agree with Edeleth on this one. I will tell tell Gavin about the gold that I gave to The villagers and take responsibility for it. But as Edeleth said, Gavin doesn’t know the exact amount..” he doesn’t get further before he hears someone call out to them. He doesn’t know whom it was who called out, but he does recognize a certain half-orc among the crowd. “Um... h-hello to you too..” Rosri takes a sidestep and hides behind Zyman, he would have hid behind Grunda, but she still scares him. Wide eyed he looks at the unicorn and the little pixy.
OOC: have Uther realized that he is missing a gold pouch yet? 8D
Edeleth nods a greeting to the other veterans of the chicken disaster.

Roscoe lets out a yawn as he shakes off the late night he had. He enters the Hanging Chicken and looks for Gavin to break the news to him. Family was a cornerstone of Roscoe's culture and he understood its importance. Roscoe had seen many in his family return to nature so he was familiar with the sense of joy one would feel about hearing the news.
(OOC: Anyone who wants to withdraw expenses can do it retroactively, rather than waiting for everyone to sign in and figure out specific amounts before moving on, is that okay?)
There is no point delaying any longer. Edeleth enters the Hanging Chicken. Gavin is behind the bar as usual, and calls out a greeting, welcoming them back from their adventures. He is busy, and it takes a while before they can tell him they have to speak to him privately, and a longer while before he can pull himself away from his patrons and face them in a quiet back room.
The halflings found the trove, and Edeleth was not certain whether Rosri or Zyman was in possession of the letter, which must certainly be the first thing Gavin sees. "I am afraid we have sad news for you," he begins, looking to the others to continue.

The Gypsie Caravan is immediately met by all the Carnival folks in the Marketplace with loud cheers of joy. "The Old Charriot has returned from the West! Yeeeepaa!!!" The entire plaza errupts into music and festivities
As the PCs make their way through the Lower Peak, and onto the bridge, all the way to the Hanging Chicken, people on the crowded streets stare at them and you can hear many whispers..."It's them! They're back!"
Finally, as they reach the Hanging Chicken, and enter the main Dining Hall, they are greeted by thunderous cheers from Gavin and his customers, including the Dwarf Villagers from Turniptown rescued by Team1.
A huge banner is now hanging from the upper level, depicting a fierce looking armored chicken with a sword and shield, hanging over a Tavern, and illuminated by a Sun Ray.
"There they are! Come and give Gavin some love, ya' rascals! Tonight yer' all invited to a private banquet, Heroes only! I've got some surprises for ya'!"
OOC: PCs have the rest of the afternoon "off" to do what they want (PM me the details) before the banquet takes place. Btw Vah'Lor and Aemis are invited as well. Also, Team2, we will roleplay the interaction with Gavin on the Team thread shortly
Also, for those wondering, every "Knight of the Hanging Chicken" still has a free (comfortable) room of their own at Gavin's Tavern/Inn. With its new extra dimensional enhancements, there is plenty of room for everyone, and with its popularity only growing by the day, he can definitely afford it...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
While waiting for the banquet, now that he has actual coins in his pocket, Edeleth decides it's time to attend to his correspondence. He stops by Ruskor's Castle of Junk to pick up some writing supplies. (6gp should cover pen, ink, sealing wax, and plenty of parchment, at the heroes' discount.)
Then he makes a stop at a jeweler's workshop.
The day he had turned his back on his family for good, after the shouting match with his grandmother, he had thrown his family signet ring into the river. Or a well. Or possibly the latrine--he had been very angry, and couldn't remember clearly. Since then he has simply sealed his letters with his thumb or the end of a pine cone. It is time for a new signet. He describes the seal he wants, and after working up a few sketches and designs for Edeleth's approval, the jeweler promises to have it ready the next day. (5gp)
OOC: How far is it from Three Peaks to the Westwoods? Or is there a postal sevice? For calculating the cost of sending a message.
That done, he goes looking for Pebbles and the Oakfields dwarves. They shouldn't be hard to find, he thinks. There can't be many dog men wandering the streets of Three Peaks.
Investigation-- 15 (OOC: I'm going to call that a success. :D )
He finds Pebbles and quietly slips him 50gp for the Oakfields dwarves.
Then he goes to the stables and pays for the wagon rental. With the discount, he estimates that for the four or five days they were gone, plus a nice tip for the driver's hazard pay, 7gp should cover everything.
