Helena raises her brow at the dwarf's interest but sighs and shrugs. "Put simply, a man left to explore the island and has yet to return. We were hired to find him. Now, will you answer my friend's question and tell me what you know of the island?"
Insight to see why the dwarf is so curious -18 (take 15 if rolled less than 10)

There doesn't seem to be any sort of malicious intent to his question, he just wants to know.

"I'm sorry, but I don't know anything of the island," says the man. "Perhaps you can try somewhere else."
However, before you can leave, another priest, another dwarf, pipes up.
"I do. I know a guy, a fisherman. He was out on his boat when he heard a great thunderclap and saw a massive cube of rock fall from the heavens. Red flames and black smoke followed it, as well as a horrible shrieking sound. It fell into the water and disappeared, and three days later the island and the black water appeared. I don't know whether it's true or not, but I thought I should tell you anyways. That's all I know. Godsspeed."
Helena nods at the dwarf before turning to the elf. "See. That's all that needed to happen." To the rest of the group she does a shallow bow. "Thank you for your help."
She walks back to the group and tells them what she had heard. "Not much but it might mean something later on. Did you all find out anything else?"

"Well, there have been Shadar-kai seen on the island. I can imagine they won't be too far from there when we arrive if they are not waiting for us." Pierpont appears to be thinking deeply. "Feel from the sky hmm, I wonder where it came from? Are the gods that angry? Well, I don't know about you, but after a meal, I think I am ready to turn in. Tomorrow the adventure begins."
"Shadow elves, falling rocks from the sky, a mystery island and a missing Wizard in the middle of it all. Well it shan't be boring at the very least." Brotherhood will also finish up his meal and head to the room to rest and prepare for the next day.
You are all woken up early by a member of the staff, and told that the captain is expecting you soon. You gather in the common room for a quick breakfast.

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
Pierpont carefully stows all his gear, making sure things that may be needed quickly are in external pockets or attached to his backpack. His rapier he wears in a double scabbard on his left hip. One dagger on his right and one in the small of his back, behind the pack. His bow is lightly tied to his pack, but easy to extract with a sharp tug. With everything in place, he makes his way downstairs to find some breakfast. As he waits for the others to arrive, he takes up residence at a corner table and orders some warm bread and honey and a bowl of stew.
The stew looked like it had stayed simmering over the fire from the night before but he ate heartily anyway. You were never guaranteed a warm meal on the road, so you take your opportunities while you can.
Waking up Aka takes a few minutes to gather himself and then he gathers his belongings and makes his way downstairs to grab a little bit of breakfast before meeting up with the others on their way to the Capetian.
Brotherhood gathers up his belongings and spends a moment to mentally prepare himself for the day ahead of him. Looking over his equipment, Brotherhood takes his dagger and tucks into his boot. Just a bit of insurance he thinks to himself before equiping the rest of his gear and joining everyone else. Once finished with breakfast he prepares to leave with he rest to go meet this Captain.
Helena gets ready quickly as she hadn't unpacked much the night before and leaves the room first, heading to the common room and waiting for the others to complete their morning routine.
It takes a while to rouse Renn, but she catches up with the party a bit later. They make it to the docks without any problems.

Docks, Waterdeep, Faerun
You manage to get to the docks at the scheduled time, and soon hear a deep, booming voice call out.
"Well, hello! Would you be Saberhagen's friends? You look like adventuring types!"
To call Captain Oaksley simply large would be an understatement. The man fully earns the title of rotund. His shirt strains against his massive belly, which swings and sways as if caught in a wind. Buried behind a massive, untrimmed beard is a smiling, rosy cheeked face. The man is flanked by two rough looking sailors.

Helena is taken aback by the man's appearance, eyes wide with shock, but quickly smiles and gives out a hand to shake as she realises how rude it would be to stare. "Ah, yes. And you must be the captain taking us to the island, correct?"

Pierpont takes a moment the man and his ship. Having signed on with Saberhagen, they didn't have much choice to work with the captain, but that didn't mean you had to walk in blind. "Good day,"Pierpont says as he approaches the captain. he reaches out to give him a hearty handshake, allowing him to get close to aid in his examination. "I take it you have everything in order for our trip?"

"Oh? What mission?" Asks another man, a dwarf, "Whose life?"
