"Ready when you are captain," aka will respond, "do we all have our own rooms or are we sharing a common room for the trip and how long of a trip will it take? Also, I am not much of a sailor, but if there is anything I can help with do let me know."
Pierpont makes his way aboard the ship, finding a place midstern where he would be out of the way of the crew as they carried out their various tasks. As he waits he takes the time to meditate, reflecting on the events that had brought him here. Preparing for what may lie ahead on the island.
As the captain's men make preparations, a sailor walks up to the captain, and taps him on the shoulder.
"Er, boss, I think I found something you and the adventurers might like to see. I think it's from the island. Keeps on talking about a 'Big Square.'"
A small, round creature pokes itself out from behind the man. It appears to be some sort of metallic construct. It consists of a spherical body with a single eye and a mouth, two thin, fragile looking arms, as well as legs of a similar make. From its back sprout two feathered wings.
"Big Square! Bad Square! Bad Boss! Big Boss! Bad!"
The creature seems clearly distressed, but seems to only be able to form rudimentary words.

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
Looking at the strange creature Brotherhood mutters to himself "What in the nine hells..."Adressing the sailor Brotherhood asks"how do you know it came from the island? Or I suppose I should be asking how it got here from the island..and if theres more of them."
While the sailor answers Brotherhood looks back at the creature, trying to recall anything that may allude to what type of creature stands before us.

Looking to one of his more magically inclined allies Brotherhood asks "I don't suppose any of you have any idea what were looking at?"

"Does it say anything else?" He asks the sailor who came with it?
Helena is taken aback by the strange construct. It was oddly adorable, however, and so she gets down onto one knee and addresses the creature. "Hello there, little one. Can you tell us more about this 'big, bad square'?"
Helena looks up at the group. "Six faces and a square... perhaps it's talking about a cubic creature of some sort?" Looking back towards the small creature, she asks "Did you swim here? From that island over there?"She points towards the island they're supposed to be going to.
(OOC: Oh my god, I just realised I got my characters mixed up in my last post. Sorry bout that.)
Well that is one odd looking creature and it even talks, this is definitely going to be an interesting adventure. Talking to the creature, "Do you have a name? Does your species have a name? If we protect yo from the "bad boss" would yo accompany us to the island that is just offshore, where presumably you came from?:
While the others try to communicate with the creature Brotherhood addresses the Captain and his men.
"I was going to wait until we were out to sea to ask but this seems like a better time to ask. What have you heard about this island? Everyone seems to have a different tale to tell and each one seems stranger than the last. This...creature, is just another oddity to our list of strange occurrences. I'm wondering what else you've might have seen or heard about this island."

"Go big square? Go bad boss?"
The creature seems to think for a moment, then nods tentatively.

"Well, I heard that there was a seagull spotted by a boat passing by that landed on the island to go peck at all the dead bodies on it. Then, out of nowhere, a tentacle struck and killed it!"
As fascinating as the creature was, there did not seem to be much he was going to get from it. It seemed limited in its speech and understanding and hewould let the others try and decypher what it might be saying. Instead, Pierpont turns to join the conversation with the captain. "Well if you are willing to sail there we should be fine. When do we get under way?

Seeing as Renn hails from the outer planes, combined with that Arcana check, she knows a good solid basic understanding of what this thing is? Waiting for DM to confirm before saying anything out loud.
To the creature: "H'stakhanen mirtys vaktrsa Asmodii?"
OOC: Looking at the quality and style of the boat. Having been involved with 'trade' in the past he might recognise certain features of it.
It appears to be a fairly medium quality mercantile vessel.
"Aye, I am, and I do. Are you all ready to set out?"
"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
"Yes sir, I believe we are. Though I do have a question. How long of a trip is it from here to the island?"

"Oh, no more than an hour at sea. Rooms won't really be a problem."
(Are we all ready to go?)
"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
(Yep, ready to go)
[OOC: Ready as I ever will be]
"Good to know Captain, in that case I shall ride up front so I can get look at this island first thing."
(Yup ready whenever)
