Class: Rogue -- will multiclass with fighter if allowed.
Backstory:
I actually wrote this character for another campaign but never got to play him. I have IRL experience as a sailor, including on replica tall ships so I reckon I could have some good rollplay fun with Seb.
Backstory: Sarovar grew up poor, and like many half-elves was never fully accepted by either side of her family. She always had a knack for music and in her young adult years became a street performer, earning coins by playing instruments, singing, dancing, and occasionally swindling money from tourists with dice and card games. One day, an old master bard noticed her performing and was impressed by her natural talent. He took her under his wing and taught her about everything her curious mind could think to ask. They travelled together for years, performing, telling stories, learning new stories from others, and making enough coin to live comfortably. Recently, her mentor decided he was too old for that life and decided to retire to a cottage in the country, leaving his prized Mac-Fuirmidh Cittern to Sarovar to use in her travels. Now Sarovar is in search of the next chapter in her life, and when she heard about the Shimmercairns her natural curiosity brought her there to explore the grand possibilities.
(I can change the magic item to something else as well, I was considering the helm of comprehending languages)

Character: Perkus Rolen
Race: Firbolg
Class: Druid
Background: Perkus hasn't never once thought about settling down and living out the rest of his life in one spot. The world holds many mysteries and that excited him. When he isn't searching through ruins for age old artifacts, he's planning his next trip to far off wonders and ruins. His gifts allow him to find things other may have missed and he takes great pride in his work. It isn't often that new land has emerged from hiding like it has at the Shimmercairns. That means there is bound to be ancient mysteries hidden below the thawing ice. He isn't about to let someone else make those discoveries and horde the precious artifacts in vaults never to be seen by the public again. It is his calling to solve these mysteries and spread the newfound knowledge with all that wish to discover it. He's only once ever broken that rule when he found the magical staff hidden deep inside an ancient druidic ceremonial site. It almost felt like it was calling out to him and life has never quite been the same since.
Character sheet (stats are placeholders until this post shows me the rolls)
New dad of two here, and my in-person gaming days are over for a bit. Very interested in giving pbp a shot considering so much time I have a little baby resting on me (I have my phone!).
Ability scores: 151491599
Name: Hogar
Race: Half-orc
Class: Fighter, Champion (keep it simple).
For most of his life, Hogar has been bound into servitude. When he was young, he was bartered off by his tribe to a wealthy merchant. This merchant was a cruel man, but he kept up his end of the bargain. After many long years, the merchant gave Hogar one last duty, which was to escort him to the new continent. There he would be given provisions, a suit of chain mail, and an axe with which to forge his own future in the new land. On the one hand, Hogar resents his captor, but on the other, he feels a guilt-tinged thankfulness as the rush of exploration settles upon him. Would a nomadic life scavenging the deserts have been any better?
Backstory: Big Mo aint smart but he knows his job, stomping any fool bold enough to tarnish The Earth Mother. He has been called by the highest powers of the spirit world to protect this new land and although he has much left to learn, he will step up to the task.
Magic Item: He wears a worn bearskin cloak of protection.
UPDATE!: I am moving the "deadline" forward a little. This Thursday is the day of reckoning. I am really overwhelmed by all the attention this thread is getting and don't want to have 30 applicants to choose between cause you all seem great and it would make the decision even harder!
Whoops, I forgot to reroll my lowest score (with three 9’s this would be most welcome, lol) Ability scores: 14
Also, he would only have a magic item if he were given one by his master. At DM’s discretion let’s say it is either a Deck of Illusions or a +1 Battleaxe. Hogar is mysteriously drawn to the item and will not let it go under any circumstances. Most likely the item is cursed by his former master, just in case he needs to call in any more favors. The item bares the sigil of the merchant’s company.
*note* Also, it should be said that I am perfectly willing to roll up any class; whatever is needed. They can all be fun.
Raised in a Dwarven city that was overtaken by a white dragon that was eventually overthrown. Igby's people were isolated and did not interact with many outsiders. They held the dead in reserve and the bones of the Ancient White Dragon that once held their home hostage are among their most sacred treasures. Igby has dealt with many in the underdark but few from above. Igby was attracted to the bones and the idea of using them for more than decorations or trophies. While many from the outside will consider him with extreme caution and weary, Igby knows that the magic of a Necromancer is no more inherently evil than any other school of magic. Igby knew he needed to learn more and left his city to explore the world and learn all of the Necromancy Magic he could find. Igby traded the part of a dragon’s tooth he had since childhood for his Enduring Spellbook, while most would say he got the worst part of the deal, Igby is more than satisfied with this trade.

I plan to play Ssozsa a Yuan Ti Druid.
I grew up with my sister and my mother on the run, from what my mother told me , an uncle of mine insulted a noble in our hometown and that noble retaliated by trying to kill our whole family. Even after my mother had to flee with us, assassins were sent after us for several years, so we were always on the run, never feeling save. Naturally Yuan Ti are mistrusted and seen as evil, so i experienced a lot of discrimination and hate as a child. I learned that i can only rely on myself if i want to survive.
I will flesh out the story a bit more once i know a bit more about those islands.

Where does it say reroll lowest score? DM said "Use 4d6 and drop the lowest one to generate your ability scores", which is what you did for each of your 6 stats originally. Or have I missed something?

You are correct. Sorry if i have caused any confusion but you do not reroll any of the results, just use the standard 4d6DropLowest1 version of generating stats.
