Peshley woke up with a start. It was a little early for her watch but something had come to mind. "Why didn't I think of that earlier,"she mutters to herself. Looking around she sees Laievis on duty. "You wouldn't happen to have any string, would you? Rope would do at a stretch. I had an idea."
If they have string/rope she will place it across the path leading up to the cave, then using a glyph of storing, she will cast prestidigitation. She will set it to make a small chirping noise if the string/rope gets disturbed.
If they don't have string/rope, Peshley will do the same thing, but with a rock that she will place in a section of the path that is most likely to be walked through.
"I don't think I am going back to sleep now, so I may as well stay up and keep you company," she says, settling in with her back against the wall and wand in hand.
Peshley, roll a SURVIVAL CHECK to set up your alarm system
Saerirra would search the area immediately outside the cave, say 30ft or so, for any other objects that might have been left behind by whoever or whatever was here.
Perception roll: 11
Investigation roll: 21
(Wasn't sure which would be proper.)
Saerirra would spend the rest of her watch shift tending to Taranonn, petting him/her, brushing her fingers through the mane.
(My perception roll for watch shift being too low to matter.)
Laievis gladly shared the rope and watched Peshley setting the alarm system.
- Very elegant casting, - He tipped his head to the side as if admiring a good work, - should work perfectly. Hard to imagine anyone mad enough to hunt in that blizzard, but gnolls are not known for their sharp thinking.
- I would advise you to rest, after all we have been through. Otherwise Cad will keep you a good company. Good night to you.
He woke up Cad for his shift and meditated the rest of the night until it was time to go.
As Cade gets up to take his shift, Peshley quickly describes the alarm system to him. With the night only half over, she then decides that it is probably wise to get at least some rest. "Wake me when it is my turn," she says quietly before she curls up in her tent.
As Uther sees the tracks he bends down touches them with his and then looks up, "There are Hyenas out here, we should have someone stand guard as a precaution. I can take the first shift"
Uther investigates the area, incase they've missed anything valuable. 8 Then sits out side the tent area.
Cade says to Uther while walking towards his tent, "Baron and I will take the second shift I need a time to do some thinking let know when you are ready for me to take over. Oh...I'm sorry Laievis I didn't see you there we can take the third shift then it will just give me more time." (That's when Cade will clean his armor) Once it is his and Baron's turn to stand watch Cade makes sure he keeps a look out. He finds a small hammer and decides to pick it up, "This could come in handy.",but his mind wanders thinking about battles that involved Gnolls...though he doesn't know much about them he may remember a battle that involved them in the past. (History check already confirmed by DM). Still thinking he decides, "I'll tell the rest of them in the morning what I know so that we are prepared for when we go to Turniptown."
Cade - Before tunring into bed Cade wakes Peshley to start her shift...he then heads towards his tent. (Already posted going to sleep and waking up)
Peshley takes up a post near the entrance beneath the waterfall and watches out into the night. She uses prestidigitation to warm her robes, refreshing it each hour as needed.

If nothing occurs then she will wake the others as the sun starts to rise.

( We might need to repost our waking activities for the DM's sake. We post a lot in our thread, which can be tough to keep up with, not to mention he's got at least two other threads to look after.)
Uther wakes refreshed, he yawns, puts on his cloths and armour then walks out the tent. "Let us eat quickly, then be on our way." He advises after he wakes everyone else.
For the very late heavy sleepers, he starts clanging pots together to speed up the process.
He starts to feed the fire as he sits on a nearby rock, while the others get ready.
After Saerirra wakes she tends to Taranonn, feeding her (Just gonna say "her", since I'm not sure the horse's gender was established) and leading her to the stream so she can get a drink of water, brushing my fingers through her mane as I do. After hearing the clanging of pots, she grimaces and says to Uther "Don't make such noise! You'll scare the horses and probably something else out there!"
OOC: Since we are posting the waking up again I'll add in what took place with Uther's post.
Cade - After his watch and walking towards their tent Cade and Baron go inside where Cade takes off Barons garb (saddle, saddle bags, bit and bridle, etc.) and get himself down to his common clothes being sure to keep his new armor within reach. Telling Baron, "Stay! Good Boy! I am going outside for a bit I will be back shortly.", he takes his armor and his bar of soap and heads towards the water trough and splashes some water onto the armor and using his soap attempts to get the blood stains out of it. As he sits there and scrubs there is just a very deep stain on the one part that won't come out to which Cade thinks, "Ugh! That's it!", he then stands above the armor and casts Prestidigitation to clean what is left of the stubborn spot. Looking at the armor Cade lets out a quiet, "Yeah!", and picks up his armor and goes back to the tent. Upon entering the tent Baron seemingly the ever excited mastiff comes up to Cade wagging his tail and they spend the night laying on one of the bedrolls inside the tent.
The next morning Cade wakes up to a slobbering tongue all over his face to which he says, "I'm up. I'm UP!", he gets himself dressed making sure to put on his armor and feeds Baron after getting all of his garb back on. He looks up afterwards and sees Uther who appears to be banging on pots when Saerirra walks up and admonishes him for doing so...I then walk up to both of them and ask, "So...I think we should all start talking a plan. I can tell you guys what I know historically from what I have read before, but I would rather wait for the others to be up first."

"Okay, that's good. The more information we have on these things, the better. I also have a bit of a backup plan in case things go wrong, but I want to wait until everyone is awake and ready as well. I'm still quite a bit nervous, this being my first real fight. Mostly I just let the sellswords handle the tough work and I would provide medical aid as needed, but I don't think I can just sit back and watch anymore. Nor do I want to. I do not think I would want to have any of those thing coming up close, but I will do what I can to aid in battle beyond healing."
Saerirra would sit and relax near the fire as she waits for the rest of the group to wake, trying to stifle her nerves and also contemplate plans and ideas at the same time.
Laievis already finished his morning prayer to Meryn and was now packing his stuff.
- It's a bit hard to plan anything being at least in one day journey from the destination, not knowing anything about location and where we can actually find those enemies. But anything you can share is appreciated.
Uther hears the sound of Peshley's alarm go off. Then in the Dark, about 40 feet from the cave, Hyena shapes moving around, about a dozen, cackling and growling all around you...ready to attack...
"To arms, to arms " yells Uther as the alarm rings loudly. He stands up and pitches his axe in the ground, then uses 'thunder clap' to make sure everyone is awake.
As the hayenas approach he takes his stance and is ready to attack.
