OOC: Nice work everyone. Some out of the box thinking and some great teamwork.
Peshley watches as the Alpha falls and the other hyena flee in in disarray. With the strongest amongst them fallen, the pack was broken. Peshley sighed leaning over with her hands on her knees, heart pounding and breathing heavily as the adrenalin still coursed through her. If this was what the rest of the trip would be like she would be a wreak by the end of it. My family better acknowldge me after this. Peshley looked around at the cave. There would be a bit of work before they could get back to sleep, and there was guarantee that the other hyena would not return. I guess my guard duty still stands, she thought as she sighed again.
Saerirra walks over to Peshley and softly places her hand on her back. She too felt uneasy after her first real fight, but was taught well to stifle any outbursts that may come from such intensity.
"Are you okay, Peshley? Was this your first time in battle as well?"
Saerirra wanted to make sure her teammate was feeling well, but lifts her hand from Peshley's back after a moment, knowing some do not enjoy such lingering touches, even if gentle. She didn't have much clue on how to help her teammate beyond simply providing comfort in any way she could and that Peshley would accept.
She also took a moment to look across the cave to the rest of her team, seeing Uther's glee at slaying the large beast, as well as Laevis and Cade coming down from their own battle highs in their way.
Nice. The Giant Hyena now lies dead at Uther's feet. The other ones flee immediately, realizing this will definitely not be an easy meal...
ENCOUNTER OVER! Good job everyone!
Do we get any XP? Or is this just a milestone campaign?
I would rather use the milestone system in this campaign, because if not it would take FOREVER to level up (e.g this encounter would have only gotten each of you 60xp, out of 1800 you need to level up).

So no level up yet, but do not despair....
That's fine and fair. I was just curious as it wasn't established until now.
Uther's chest heaves as he calms down after the battle. "Bah" he yells after the beasts as they flee. He wipes his blades on the alphas fur then turns to check that everyone else is ok.
"Saerirra, Peshley, Laevis, Cade are we all ok ?" As he looks around and calms down " those beasts didnt know what hit them" he laughed.
He looks around the bodies to see if theres anything of note.
Investigation 19
Then walks out and takes off his cloths and jumps in the water to clean out all the blood.
As he returns " so whos shift is next?" As he walks back to the tent, he pats Taranonn for a little bit. Then rests for the night.
Uther does notices that all the Hyenas have been branded with a particular symbol...an Abyssal word...anyone who understands or reads the language may translate the symbol
Those who slept on the first watch got about an hour of sleep. But after the encounter, the rest of the night goes by peacefully, if not for the raging blizzard outside...
Laievis quietly thanked Meryn: looks like no one got hurt after all, or, better say, did not hurt anymore. He smiled and gave a sigh of relief.
- I suspect this is my shift now, Uthat, - answered he to warriors question. - I would not be able to rest now anyway. And we need to dispose of bodies - the smell of blood can attract some other predators even at this weather.
Mage hand is an amazing tool if you need to clean up something without getting yourself too dirty. Soon, hyenas bodies were carried aside (or dropped from the cliff should terrain allow it) and blood-pools covered with snow by blizzard (if wind and snowfall stopped - then from piles of snow around). He finished and joined others in the cave. Symbols puzzled him, but he could not recognize them and just stopped pondering. If Peshley was asleep, he let her rest a bit longer. After all, he needed only four ours of reverie and it looked like he would get them anyway.

Laeivis and Saerirra, you may both roll a RELIGION check as you dispose of the Hyenas...

(Uh yeah, I don't think I'm gonna get anything off a roll of 3. Another freakin Nat 1. lol)
Peshley looks up as the hand touches her on the back. "Thank you. Yes. It's not quite what I expected." Peshley uses her prestidigitation to help clean things up, especially cleaning off blood from the hyenas, ashes and any spilt liquids. She then goes to reset her ward on the trail before settling down for a few hours sleep before the dawn watch. "Wake me when it is my turn," she says quietly before she curls up in her tent.
- I almost pity those beasts, - said Layevis entering the cave after clean up. He looked as if he was contemplating something and lost in his thoughts (though, that was his usual appearance). - These strange signs on the bodies - they are demonic marks. Truly, you have to be a demon to bring south animal to such cold and force them to attack a prey way too dangerous for them.
- But the point is, - he paused to make sure everyone is listening, - we are dealing with something bigger here, than a band of gnolls. I wonder if by moving to that Turniptown we are leaving behind a new threat, or the "old" one is more serious then we thought and it's warning us.
As Laeivis pities the poor slave beasts, something (maybe Meryn himself) tells him that with the right ritual, maybe he could help save their souls....by rolling another Religion check, with advantage if anyone decides to partake in the ritual....

Saerirra would aid Laevis in removing the bodies from the cave with her own Mage Hand before going to sleep in her tent.

Yes, you get your proficiency bonus on it, since you are a cleric.
Laeivis realizes that these Hyenas were possessed by some sort of demonic entity, therefore slaves to some sort of demon...

(Although I'm not proficient in Religion, i'll give Laevis help with the ritual for advantage.)
“Saerirra, maybe you could accompany them with a tune to send the spirits on their way?” It might help put some of the rest of us at ease also.
