As our heroes show Gavin the letter and start telling their tale about finding Shorgreg's secret treasure, the battle hardened Dwarf pauses. Small tears actually trickle down his red beard, and he smiles...
"So he DID care for his son after all...who would have known?"
He stares at you all, still dumbfounded by the findings...
"Me' whole bloody life, all I could hear from him was "a real Dwarf makes his OWN fortune, Gavin", and "If ya' want something, build it yerself, Gavin!"
"I was far away, cutting me' ways through undead and Yuan Ti hordes when he joined Thornæd's Rebellion, making me' own fortune as he told me. How could I have found his bloody treasure if I didnt even know it existed?"
He chuckles silently...
"Oh, he's still alive alright! I know way too many of his Brothers in Arms. From what I hear, he recently led the 2nd Column of Iron Clan Defenders against the Red Dragon Army at Izor just a few weeks ago. A list of names of fallen Soldiers was publicly read here in the Three Peaks, and I sure didn't hear his. Trust me, it would take Moradin's hammer itself to kill the old bastard..."
Gavin takes a look at the findings...
"Wow, all these years of fighting fer' the Rebellion and the Army, and that's ALL he could save up fer' me? Good thing I took his advice and made me' own fortune, hehe...Well, at least ya' lads brought it back to me. But to tell ya' the truth, I think ya' folks need it more than I do. Keep the money, and the everful mug. After all, I've got all the drinks and gold I could ever dream of right here, partly thanks to you lads...and that crazy old Wizard...I wonder how they're treating him in that Arcane prison..."
He looks At Roscoe, and the Armor.
"His armor looks good on ya' , I gotta say. But of ya' dont mind, I'd like to display it on me' trophy wall. He always said I'd have to work hard to earn it...sentimental value. BUT...(he winks at all of you) if ya' show up to the banquet tonight, I'll make it up to ya'...Dwarven promise...I think ya' wont be disappointed..."
Roscoe smiles at Gavin. "Never really felt right in anyways." Roscoe takes the time to remove the armor and hands it over to Gavin. "Might wants to polish it a bit. It protected me very well when we's were attacked. Great design there "
Edeleth is pleasantly surprised to hear that Shorgreg is alive, and more pleased still to have brought the dwarf so much happiness.
He is also delighted that he hasn't misjudged Gavin's character. He bows to the dwarf. "Thank you Gavin. If I ever have the honor to meet your father, I will compliment him on what a generous, open-hearted and kind son he has raised. And highly recommend your ale."
While Roscoe looks as cheerful as always, Edeleth is sure giving up the plate mail is hard. He unstraps his short bow. "Roscoe, I've noticed that you and Grunda don't have any ranged weapons. You shouldn't have to run face-first into every battle. This would be a toothpick in Grunda's hands, but it is quite adequately sized for a halfling. I mean to get a proper longbow, anyway." He offers the bow to Roscoe, and a quiver of 17 arrows.

Roscoe smiles at Edeleth's offer. One thing that the tribe taught well was how to accept a gift when offered. "Thank you. I'm sure it will come in handy," he says thankfully.
"We's agree that sticking together would work the best. We's just got to know each other and wouldn't mind seeing you's all faces more often. You's are like our own little family away from home."
Roscoe gets settled and prepare for the banquet later that evening. He didn't have much need for things unless he found another battleaxe laying around. This had been an interesting fun few days and he looked forward to what shenanigans his new companions would find along the way.
Rosri walks with Edeleth to Ruskor's Castle of Junk and picks up some arrows for 50sp. Afterwords he splits from Edeleth to tend to some more nefarious business.
He seeks out the thieves guild to get directions to the underground market. He knows from experience that every major city has one.
Investigation with advantage because of criminal background if needed: 20
After finding the underground market he intend to seek out a poison master or if he can't find one he'll go look for an ingredients shop where he can procure ingredients from basic poison.
As Rosri find his way to the underground market, he's trying his best to go unnoticed. It wouldn't do to be recognized as one of the 'Heroes of the Hanging Chicken' down here. That could mean disaster. He dons the hood on his cloak and keeps to the shadows. At one time he saw a man getting stabbed, probably due to being behind on his payment plan or maybe he stole from the wrong people. In any case Rosri didn't want to know. As he makes his way to the street, following the description he got from his contact, he finally finds the shop he's looking for. To a regular customer it looks like an ordinary Herbalist shop, but Rosri knows differently.
"Um.. Hi there." He says to the clerk, an old, short and round dwarven woman with grey curly hair.
"Hi there little one, what can I do for you?"She seems like a lovely woman, Rosri think. Like a grandmother. He wonders if he has come to the right place.
"Um.. I-I'm looking for some ingredients. Or maybe a potion. I was told that you might have it.."
"Oh and what potion might that be?"the old lady reply.
"Um.. Jimmy Fingers sent me, he said that you would know." Rosri had been told to say that name to get access to the back room where the less honest items were sold.
"Oh did he now?" She looks suspiciously at Rosri. "Well follow me in to the back then and we'll see what we can do about that."
Once in the back room the old lady drew a loaded Crossbow at Rosri."Now who are you and what do you want?"
Seeing the crossbow pointed at him Rosri is pales. "M-m-ma’am, please, I-I only came here to procure some p-poison or ingredient to make it myself. I was told that you might have what I am looking for, which is basic poison. I need it so I can coat my arrows when I'm out on missions." Rosri has gone completely white by this point.
"Oh why didn't you say so sooner? Then this wouldn't have been so ugly. Heheh" She lowers the crossbow and goes over to a different shelf."unfortunately I don't sell poison, but I can get you the ingredients that you need dear, how much do you need?
"Enough for t-t-t-two vials ma’am"Rosri answer with a shaking voice. When he gets the ingredients he thanks her, hands over the money and quickly make his way back to the inn.
Back at the inn he will take out his alchemy kit and prepare to create some poison.
Do I roll something to create poison? or does it just take up time?
After the show Rosri gathers his courage and walks up to Edeleth and Roscoe and silently ask if he can talk to them alone. Once they have found a private room to talk in Rosri begins. "I feel like I need to apologize to you. I have been rude and snippy towards you ever since the meeting with the Jarl. The reason for that is that this war business scare the living crap out off me.. I'm just not cut out for war and I don't think we know enough of the enemy to be doing this... ehm.. so last night I did something, and I feel like I owe it to you to tell you what it was." He look at the two of them seriously. "Well, after the meeting with the Jarl yesterday I was approched by someone. Remember the dwarf that knocked me down? He accually gave me a note telling me to meet someone from the thieves guild at midnight, and I went there without talking to any of you about it. He also told med that he in turn work for a man called Artaxes of Emberdark, Lord of Wrathmaw Keep, and Member of the Second Land Swarm.." He take another pause. "He said that if I could bring him information on a man that calls himself "Gingerbread man" he'd be willing to share more information with me."
"I understand if you want me to leave your group since I was so dishonest, and if that is the case I will return home to the halfling Republic. I just felt I needed to share this with you before you head out.."
Roscoe ponders all the information for a moment. "Do yous know the Gingerbread man? The name doesn't sound familiar to us. If this is something yous need to do, then we's are going to help yous with it. Yous are more important to us than some Jarl. Whatever yous need."Roscoe pats Rosri on the shoulder doing his best to show that he's there for his halfling friend.
"Leave the group? Ridiculous. Of course not," says Edeleth, relieved. "But I have never heard of this Gingerbread Man, either. I am not sure how much time we have to gather information before we are meant to leave..." He looks at Rosri worriedly. "You ARE coming with us, still?
