The beast was clearly possessed by some sort of demonic force. As you say a prayer for the poor animal (who indeed was an asshat, but only because it was a slave), you, and you alone see a pit to hell open under the bonfire, and two giant demon arms reaching for the Giant Hyena's soul...
But the skies part, and a ray of light beams down onto the fire, and the Hyena's soul is lifted up into the air, transforming into a Celestial animal with little wings, and playing a harp.
As it soars towards the Heavens, it looks down to you and says "Thank you..."
Everyone else just sees Edeleth praying, then spazing out, with the bonfire turning green, then burst with radiant energy, before just dying out...
After the battle ended, Rosri sat on the floor right where he had fired the finishing bolt. He was i chock. He sat there for a long time while Roscoe and Edeleth cleaned up and Zyman tried to rescue his stew. He couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw that the giantess had slept through all of this.
<I did it.. I’m alive an well.. and I did it.. I didn’t hide or freeze this time!>
After the chock had subsided Rosri got to his feet. He had completely forgotten to salvage his bolts.. and now they where burned to cinders because of his lack in composer . “ he walked over to the chest without saying a word, he needed to calm down and nothing calmed him better then picking a lock. And since the trap was sprung, it should be easy enough.
Feeling more confident after surviving a fight against a pack of wild demonic Hyenas, Rosri gets back to work on the chest. A whole three seconds go by and..... CLICK!
The chest opens, revealing a set of Mithrall scalemail (Dwarven size) carved with the Emblem of the Iron Clan, and full of other symbols, a very nice wooden, iron and Ivory Ale mug, a sealed note, and a nice leather coin purse containing 500GP!
"Oh..." Rosri call out loud, surprised that the lock was so easy to pick. <Maybe it was the trap that made me nervous before.>
He inspect the content in the chest, instantly taking a liking to the mug. He weighs the pouch in his hand and knows that it is at least a few hundred gold pieces inside. He then inspects the armour, <maybe it will fit Roscoe?>Last he inspect the note for traps. If he doesn't find anything he will open and read it.
Beside him Zyman has been silently watching as Rosri inspects the goods. "I wonder if this belonged to the dead dwarf?" he ask Zyman. "And if it was this much here, I wonder what will be at the stash house on the map, Maybe we should try to find after we have resolved our current problems with the Gnolls."
When Edeleth get back inside Rosri smiles at him. "Mr. Edeleth, now you won't have to worry about traveling mony anymore" He throw him the pouch. "we're set!"(make a dex save to see if you catch it ;-) )
Rosri looks confused on the letter. To him it seems to be gibbrish. "Mr. Ozymandias, you are a lerned man right? Can you read this letter? It is gibberish to me." He hands over the note to his companion.
While Zyman is studying the note Rosri will take his newly found mug over to the table to fill with some of the strong wine Roscoe found in the cellar. But when he is about to poure the wine he notices that the mug is already full. And not only that, after smelling It, he realizes is filled with his favourite wine, Saerloonian Special Vat: A pale red wine that left a tingle on the tongue. Rosri sets the mug aside, afraid that it might be dangerous. He will not taste it untill it has been thoroughly investigated.
"Ehm.. I think there is something magical with this mug. It just filled itself up with my favourite wine." He looks curiously at the mug. " Can any of you take a look at it?" He asks the two magic users in the room.
Zyman looks at the note, and exclaims: "Oh, it's quite alright, the note's in Dwarvish, but I had taken two semesters, I should be able to read this. As per the mug, I could give you a guess, but as per identifying it exactly, that's less my area of expertise."
OOC: Zyman speaks Dwarvish, so unless it's encoded, he should be able to understand the note easily enough. And for the mug, he could roll for an Arcana check, since he doesn't have an identify spell.

The wine remind Rosri of home. His father would always take that wine out when he had important guests coming over and Rosri would always get to taste it.
Edeleth enters the cabin, still stunned and awe-struck by the miracle he just witnessed, and feeling a bit guilty about his uncharitable judgement of the hyena. No doubt High Druid Vithan would have given him a severe lecture about understanding and acceptance, if he was here.
Something comes flying at his head as Rosri shouts something about traveling money. (Dex save 4 )

Roscoe hears Rosri talk about a mug that just filled up with liquor and he moves to check it out. "Nice," the halfling says as he picks it up and takes a drink. "This is yous favorite?," he asks between drinks.
"Oh god, I'm so sorry Mr. Edeleth!"Rosri exclaim when he hits the elf in the face with the heavy pouch.
"Yes it is. My father used to let me tast it as a you.."he is interupted when he sees the halfling gulp it down. "Mr. Roscoe!! By Olidamara what are you doing! It might be poisonous! You have to be carefull with magic!"
When Roscoe has finnished the wine, it refills again with a new substans.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Roscoe gives off a laugh. "Yous favorite drink poisonous?" Maybe the liquor from the cellar bottle was getting to him, but he wasn't about turn down drinks from a mug that fills itself. Wanting to get the most out of the mug, Roscoe attempts to chug the contents.

"When you put it like that.."Rosri looks dobiously at Roscoe. "But you should still let someone take a look at it. You never know with magic.." Since nothing seem to happend to Roscoe, Rosri calms down and walks over to the chest and picks up the mithrall armour. It is heavy and Rosri struggles a bit with it. "Do you think this will fit you?" He hands the armour over.
Roscoe looks the armor over. He'd seen others in his tribe wear leather armors crafted from the hides of the creatures that offered themselves. As he shifts the armor in his hands you can barely hear the sound of metal scraping against the leather. Roscoe gives the armor a few hard hits with his hand and seems impressed with the quality. "Haven't worn something like this befores, but think I could get it to work with a bit of adjustments. Any of yous need'n this more than I?"Roscoe looks to the others in the group to see what state their gear is in. He then looks back to the armor trying to figure out if it would work on his frame.
Feeling his bruised nose a bit tenderly, Edeleth retrieves the pouch and looks inside it. A weight seems to lift from his shoulders--this will more than cover the cost of hiring the wagon.
He wanders over to admire the other treasures the halflings found.
As he watches them trying to fit Roscoe into a particularly fine suit of Dwarven armor, he suddenly realizes how late it is.
"We ought to get some sleep soon, " he says. "If each of us takes two hours' watch, everyone ought to be able to get a full night's rest. I'd prefer to take the third watch, if nobody objects." If the night passed quietly, he could get a full measure of rest during the first two watches, then again during the fourth and fifth, leaving him free to use whatever powers were necessary while on guard. He sometimes wondered how other races coped with needing a full eight hours to recover from the day's labors.
He goes over to see if Zyman is willing to share a bowl of stew with him, adding, "If any of you notices a solitary wolf prowling around while I am on watch, don't shoot it. It will probably be me."
