Ellis had heard Darion, thinking before hearing Tempest and thinking that might be good. "Leaving the head here sounds like a good idea." he said back before being handed two berries by Tempest, listening and nodding back. He pocketed the berries, hearing Daner say that they could use a rest before moving on, believing that people will stay away and they can recoup and plan what to do next. "That also sounds like a really good idea too. If we're resting, I could quietly play something to help with that." Ellis would say back and if we do a short rest, he would quietly play a soothing song for the others to help heal them up.
Short Rest: 5107
Song of Rest - If you or any friendly creatures who can hear your performance regain hit points at the end of the short rest by spending one or more Hit Dice, each of those creatures regains an extra 1d6 hit points.
Tempest will sit and listen to the song from Ellis. He knew the group needed to rest but he knew every second they sat here was a chance that Fenthasa or another yuan-ti could appear. Still, if they were able to rest he too would be much stronger. "Thank you Ellis. That was beautiful." Tempest says.
Ellis was feeling much much better now, hearing Tempest thank him and compliment his song. "Thank you, it's the least I can do since I'm not much help otherwise." he then said back to him, nodding and smiling. Hopefully now they can all get out of this place quickly, ready to get going.
(OCC: I have to leave soon to go staff at a convention this weekend, so I won't be able to post again until after I get back on Monday. So you can just bot him.)
Despite coughing due to smoke inhalation, once the smoke clears out, the arid air is somehow welcome compared to the oppressive humidity that you have been operating in up until now. A few salvaged cushions result in this being an acceptable and welcome rest for your bodies, if not your minds, as each second that passes leaves the rest of the temple more time to organize and retaliate against you.
Just as you complete your rest, you hear a rapping on the wall directly behind the lever that Slithotep was attempting to pull. You hear muffled voiced on the other end. "Sssssssire, you know that we would dare not disturb you in your ssssslumber but for the most dire of conssssequncesss..." The voice hesitates, but continues, "...there hasssss been a sssslave revolt! Ssssseveral of your ssservants lay sssslain and the warmbloods are nowhere to be found!"
Several of the other prisoners wear distressed expressions, looking around for someone to do something, starting to panic. The shaky tabaxi in your company starts to nervously laugh very lowly, shaking.
Darion looks up and rolls his eyes "Well, of course they would come here!" he turns to his companions "So, are we going to try and fight our way out? Or anyone got another plan?"
OOC: DM, what did I glean from my investigation of the spellbook?
The red, leather bound spellbook unsurprisingly emanates a strong aura of necromancy magic. From the 20+ Arcana check in addition to Detect Magic, you can tell that the book features a curse, presumably put in place to prevent, or punish, pesky thieves who might covet the book. You are familiar with the enchantment, a nasty one, but simple to remove when you know what you are dealing with.
In addition to being a spellbook it is also a magic item. While using this tome, you may prepare an additional number of spells per day equal to your INT modifier, provided that those spells are Necromancy spells. In addition, you may regain a 1st level spell slot upon completing a short rest, but it can only be used to cast a Necromancy spell.
(I’ll list the spells that were in the book once I make it to a computer so I can link the spells)
Ellis was shocked as he heard a rapping and the voice, worried. How are they supposed to get out of here now? Wait, Fenthaza knows that they would have come here. "Could we trick them, make them leave and go bother Fenthaza about this and since she is in on this, she might distract them long enough for us to get out of here?" he then whispered to Darion, knowing how good he had been able to mimic Liss'ard's voice earlier.
Darion looks at Ellis for a moment, then gives a grin. "Worth a shot I suppose"
Without really thinking, he strides up to the door, and shouts through it, doing his best impression of Slithotep
"I know fools! I have jussst dealt with sssome who dared come to my chambersss! Before they died they revealed it wasss Fenthasa who allowed thiss to happen - who instigated it! Take your men and seize her! I shall be along ssshortly to deal with her persssonally."
Darion looks at the others and gives a 'what-can-you-do' shrug, but looks as if he is enjoying the deception way to much.
((Lol!! I smell the “help” action about to be taken))
There is a pause, and perhaps an audible gasp at your revelation of Fenthaza. ”...My lord... you sssssound dissstressssd. Pleassse, let us in to assssisst you.”
Tempest will begin using the blood and Shape Water to further freeze the lever into place and the door as well if possible while making his mouth say "We need to get out of here" silently and point to the teleporter.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Darion guesses by the look on his companion's face that his impression might not have been totally convincing. He pulls a face then says through the door (trying to improve his impression of Slithotep) "Those scaleless onessss were no match for me. I have but a few scratchessss. I will join you in a few momentssss, but you mussst hurry and alert thossse who are loyal before the traitor Fenthassssa can act! Go!"
Darion looks questioningly at his companions to guess how he did....
Ellis had heard Darion, realizing just how unconvincing that was and now worried when he heard the voice on the other side. He watched Tempest freeze the lever while saying that they need to get out of here and pointing to the lever, nodding. He listened to Darion try to pretend to be Slithotep again, smiling and nodding at him as that sounded much more convincing than before. He would go near the teleporter, waiting to hear if the voice falls for what Darion had said and leaves.
You can hear the voice hesitate again, “...Sssssiiire,” then the other voice interrupts in hushed tones and they begin bickering. The two voices slowly begin to fade until you can hear them no longer.
"Nice job," Daner says quietly to Darion. "I say we open the door and follow them. We can't be certain where the teleporter will take us, and Fenthaza will see straight through that ruse. She knows that if Slithotep were to find out she was plotting against him, HE would be using that teleporter in an instant to face her."

Oh, and you are not picking up any other magic detection from the room or the immediate vicinity.
