Tovar looks at the bag and raises an eyebrow. He parts with one of his newly forged drops. "If may to be bold, can band perform, perhaps, encore of third song? A sea shanty, I am believing."
The elf smiles and bows. "Of course sir, we are happy to take your request and thank you for your patronage. Do you want anything in particular, like drinking songs and festivities, or perhaps a lamentable one of the harshness of how the sea can take a life, legends and stories of yore? The list is long friend, so we could choose one of our favourites if you'd like that." He leans an elbow on the table and eyes Ruby with the beer in her hands and shakes his head, smiling. "You look like you're in the drinking mood at least, girlie."

As Ravi calls him Master Moons-for-eyes Mejin wrinkles his nose a little. "Please do not call us Moons-for-eyes. Only reminds us of our.. disability, though it is our name and we are proud of our upbrining we prefer Mejin or simply M." He dips a claw in the cats milk and lets a drop of milk fall onto his tongue. "To MOUSE." He leans over the bar just a little and his ears stand straight up. "Now it is time for our question. You are new on the island no? How are you planning to.. how they say.. bring home the bacon? We only want to know because of your growing tab." He smiles and taps a claw on Ravis wine bottle.
(OOC: You could always ask. I tried to make an opening for the question here.)
Ravi raises a hand in a conciliatory gesture. "My pardon, Mejin. I am Saperavi, Smith of Moradin. You are right, of course- I am new here. I had thought to establish a forge here, but my passion is boat work." He sips at the wine, then sets his shield upon the table. "Though, if you'll forgive me, new lands and new business attract opportunity: some good, some bad. I like a clean workspace, if you catch my meaning. Has the MOUSE been troubled by any, ah, clutter of late?"
"Do not worry, Saperavi, We do not take offence. We are also a servant of the gods. Pexia, the Lady of Ashes and Wine, is ours." He twirls a whisker around his claw. "Aah, well. We do not know of forging business. It is not our specialty." When you mention the cleaning of clutter it looks as if Mejin is processing your words for a long time. "You mean taking out the trash, no? We have kitchen help for this, but you look like you are strong with your large hammer at your side, yes? If you are looking for rumors or merc-work we can offer this. We heard a rumour of local fishermen losing large chunks of their catch during the night while their boats were docked at the pier. We also know that the conglomerate people need someone to help them out with bug problem. Fingers might have jobs for you too from time to time, right now we do not need you, but we might tell you if something comes up later." Another cat comes running out from the kitchen and jumps up onto Mejins back. He gives it a scratch under it's cheek and both him and his cat looks at you with a friendliness in their eyes.
He leans an elbow on the table and eyes Ruby with the beer in her hands and shakes his head, smiling. "You look like you're in the drinking mood at least, girlie."
Already feeling exposed, having just let her guard down to a group of strangers, Ruby forces a smile and replies, "Yes, Mister", before looking back down at her tankard and taking another drink.
"I've little experience in fending off sharks," Saperavi says with a twinkle in his eye. "But I take it the fish are being spirited away by a more dangerous sort of animal entirely. I'll look into it. Thank you, Mejin." He drops the appropriate coinage (and hopefully receives a little change), gathers his shield and wine, and heads over to the table with the others. He notices a seat in between Tovar and Gunnar, and a sudden thought occurs to him. He hesitates for only a moment before setting the remainder of the bottle on the table to share. He raises his mug as if to say 'to new friends', then sits to drink.
...
"A talented crew we seem to have here," he muses after a bit. "A businessman, an artisan, a member of the lizardfolk." He glances at Ruby and arches an eyebrow. "We even have quite the magnificent stowaway. I have heard that there are those on this island in need of specialized talent." He sips his wine. "And I am reminded that talent seeks challenge. I could establish my forge work at any time, but I will never learn the nature of this place until I am a part of it." He grins. "Anyone else up for some adventuring?"
Ruby cradles her coin purse out of sight under the table, more money than she had ever possessed before in her hands, and the opportunity to make more now presented to her.
"Yes", she blurts out, "I mean, if that's okay, Mister Ravi? I don't know any trade; all I'm good at is stealing and begging, and the people round here look a bit sharper and harsher than people back home."
"Ah, yes. The request. Well, I'm not sure I have catched the name, but it's the one that goes like... Lala! lalalailailai Laaaiiii!" As Tovar tries to emulate the ululating chorus, he waxes louder, carried off by the music. After a too-loud moment, he pauses. "Or something like that."
The elf joins in on the singing mid way, harmonising with Tovar getting totally carried away with him. "So singalong it is! We'll do our best, but will probably take a local song if that is alright with you friend." He gives Tovar a good slap on the back. "Only if you promise to sing along with that hearty bass o' yours though!" He laughs and tussles Rubies hair on the way to the bar. "The next drink is on me, girlie. If you need them that badly. Just say that Finch sent ya over and Master M will make you something nice!" You could think it was flirting if it weren't for the genuine understanding in the elves eyes. On the way to the bar he passes Ravi.

Ravi nods seriously in response to Gunnar. "Naturally, clocksmith." He turns to Tovar and (with a bit of hesitation) the Cycle. "Mejin describedtwo opportunities: one to assist the fishers at the wharf, and the other to attend to the needs of the powerful. We could address one, both, or neither. Shall we put it to a vote?"
(Ravi would choose the help the people at the docks)
"Certainly. As father always told little Tovar, 'Many hands, lighter work.' I'm sure the fishermens will appreciate. However, it would be certainly ill-advised to leave the needy-powerful for to be wanting. Perhaps a division of our efforts may... be in order."
Ruby eyes the rest of the group seated at the table, unsure whether she had a vote or not. On catching at least one set of eyes looking her way expectantly for an answer, she replies quietly. "Powerful folks are usually rich, I'd rather get more droplets as payment than fish..."

Ravi ducks his head in agreement with the group. "To the conglomerate, then." He waves Mejin over and, suddenly realizing that this is futile (OOC: I, Aveiro, forgot that the tabaxi is visually impaired until just before posting this), stands and walks over to the bartender. Pitching his voice low, he whispers, "My friends and I would like to speak to you about this conglomerate and their troubles. Do you have a private room in which we can talk?"
Mejin shrugs as you come over. "We saw you wave." It seems that Ravi didn't notice Mejins little furry friend had been trailing him since he left the bar a few minutes ago. "We do not know much about glommie troubles, just that they have a problem and that this problem involves something making it harder for them to dig through the rubble and tunnels. You should check with their base up the stairs at Fjeldborgir if you want to know more than we know. Someone there can help you. If you still want to talk in private we can step into our kitchen, the chef won't mind."
As the two of you are talking the band steps back on stage with the tiefling who played the string instrument in front and right behind him the elf from earlier. He winks at Tovar as he pulls out a fiddle. The tiefling shouts. "Ladies and maties! You know by now that we are The Migrators, but we are obligated to say so each time we step on the stage since our dear Master M loves to talk about how we miss home so much." Half the crowd laughs while the other half sighs at the "joke". "We have a request from the audience for a song we all can sing along to, and we are only here to please so sing-along it is!" The tiefling throws his string instrument into a pile of pillows at the back of the stage as the elf begins to play the fiddle. "If you don't know the chorus now, you will in a few minutes!" The rest of the band starts playing along with the fiddler and the tiefling starts to sing.
"Oh, old Blacktooth Shorah is known through our town His name comes from his smile, each tooth is black or brown But how did he get all his power and fame? Well the story won't bore ya' this is our bold claim"

A particularly drunk and brawny group by one of the drinking table slams their fists in the table after each time the band reaches the chorus and sings "Cause Ol' Blacktooth Shorah". Actually, at the last chorus the entire establishment is slamming the table or clapping their hands, even Mejin looks amused. Calm and cool, but amused.
Tovar seems uncertain for the first verse, but then catches the tune and punctuates the chorus with raucous shouting and percussive claps. He may be singing in an entirely different language, but the words seem to slur together anyway. As Ravi relays the message, he says, "We will wait, if you wish to hear what this one has to say.
