Dodging the first attack Endurance uses the momentum from his dodge to deliver a devastating slash which decapitates the wolf, spraying him in the black goo.
You are out of initiative. Everyone gains 300 XP from that (I will add it to your character sheet)
WARNING! Glory is still dying. (death save: 10) Anyone wants to try and do something about it?
With the chaos of battle having died down, you are left standing in the eerie forest of fungi and moss. The wolves you just fought were clearly stronger and were different from the wolves you have seen before. Could this be due to the strange darkness that covers this continent? If so, that would raise a more disturbing question: what else lies here?
Endurance will look at the blood with the light from the Moon-Touched Sword (investigation 4) before taking a short rest. (Not using hit dice, just getting abilities back. I imagine with 3 people being walock/fighter we will be taking a lot of short rests for abilities)

The blood is actually a medicine check but you pass anyway.
After stabilizing Glory, (She will wake up in 1 Hours. And endurance heals:2 Sanity from short rest.) Endurance and Varis take a look at the black tar. After looking at it from a medicine man's view, it seems to be blood. However, it is far thicker than blood would normally be. Further more, it seems to bear a lot of other elements not usually found in blood such as tree sap, a bit of pollen and some dead plant parts.
Yuldra recovers any arrows she can find, trying to avoid the wolf corpses if at all possible.
"I wouldn't get any of that on you, if you can help it. Bad blood. These creatures don't look normal on the outside, I'd be damned sure they're not normal on the inside either. Look at the back here - the insides are becoming the outsides. They look sick. I wonder how it spreads...?" She pauses a moment, considering her own words, then looks at the wounds of her new acquaintances and keeps her distance.
"I'd say we're a damn sight luckier than these wolves. Or our fellow passengers who remain unaccounted for, for that matter."She dismisses her bow, taking a deck of cards from her pocket and shuffling them, occasionally turning the top card to reveal the Bahamut card. "There's more to luck than high rolls and trump cards." she cuts the deck and turns it over to show Bahamut again. "You know what they say - when life gives you a fungus-infected direwolf, make a vegan-friendly fur coat."
On closer review, she can't see a large enough contiguous patch of fur to be worth skinning. And doesn't have a knife. And can't sew. So that plan will have to remain metaphorical for now.
I see what you mean. I tend to make my own luck as well.He produces a single die, and proceeds to roll it over and over, coming up with 6 every time. And I'm hoping that there's more than plants and fungus around here...I'm going to need some kind of meat soon.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Back and ready to DM and chew bubblegum. And I'm alllll outta bubblegum.
(this sets a dangerous precedent that I'll be leaning on when I summon a really sharp lockpick to stab someone with and open a door after)
Seeing her card tricks fail to impress, Yuldra summons her bow, the better to pin that die to the grinning chump's hand. Instead she gets a wickedly upturned blade. Not like the correspondent to change the terms without prior notice - he loved an opportunity to send a scroll. But something needed opening, and a deals a deal. She looks around for a letter or a parcel or a courier satchel but there's nothing but the dead oh **** right off! But sure enough it's a skinning blade. And a deal *is* a deal. She gingerly grabs the least scabby wolf's head, cuts along the neck and then chest, and starts pulling.
Endurance ripostes as a reaction:Attack: 24 Damage: 11
Then swings twice on his turn.
Attack: 18 Damage: 10
Attack: 17 Damage: 11
After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)

Endurance will look at Glory and say "Someone stop her bleeding. Then we rest here while she recovers"

Varis leans over her and stabilizes her. I have never seen wolves like that before...and what was that black goo?

Good question, Yul. medicine check on Endurance and Glory to see if the wounds are infected at all.

Wounds are not infected but the fear of infection causes you 1 sanity damage.
Varis sits back, trying to ignore the wolves now that the battle's over. Well, certainly has been an unlucky day for us.
