A few days ago you got a letter, telling you to show up at the Fair Lady Inn to discuss a business opportunity. It didn't say who sent the letter, but with the lack of jobs around, you couldn't afford to miss this chance. Ragn'nar and Morgain arrive at the Fair Lady at the same time. Both seem to have gotten similar letters. After a few minutes of silent waiting, two other figures showed up, one was a dwarf with long crimson beard a hooked nose, the other one was a large human male with white long hair, armor and sword at his hip.
"Welcome friends, I am Gundren Rockseeker and this here is my bodyguard, Sildar Hallwinter." He gestures at Sildar and continues "Please have a seat. I have called you here because you possesses ability that I need." He look at each of you before continue. "My proposition is divided in two parts, one which I will discuss with you here today, the other part will have to wait untill a later date. Any questions so far? Good. Now please have a seat and I will get something to drink." When he returned a few minutes later he had a bottle of whisky and two pichers of ale. "So, the first part is an escorting job. You will escort my wagon to the mining town of Phanalin, upon arrival you'll meet me at Barhens Provitions where you'll be paid 10GP each for your services. This mony will also be a downpayment on the second part. Sildar and I will be riding ahead of you to tend to some business. If you accept my offer you are to be at the south gate by the first light on the day after tomorrow where my cart awaits you."
Ragn'nar, somewhat confused, without thinking, outbursts: "Ragn'nar does not want gold, Ragn'nar wants to know where he can find Goblins!" But with some thought he adds: "Ragn'nar wants gold ... 3 now and the rest when the job is done, and who is this human next to Ragn'nar and why don't you take the carriage yourself? Ragn'nar takes the job!"
Mograine frown upon Rag'nar while trying to think this through. "Who are they? And why would they want my service? Maybe the the they've seen my great battles in the arena? And some extra gold wouldnt be bad, and who is this half-orc?".
"I am Mograine, the gladiator" he says. Not yet paying too much attention to Rag'nar while he tries to study him a bit further. He then turns to dwarf to ask him a question in dwarvish. (In spoiler).

Who are you and what is this quest about? And who is this half-orc?
Gundren smiles at the two strangers and answer Morgain in common
“This is Ragn’nar. He comes from the Red Forest, or as we common folk knows it ‘The High Forest’, it lay to the east from here. As for me and my two brothers, we’re prospectors, and we think that we have uncovered something really special in the mountains near Phandalin. That is why I hired Sildar here to help with my personal protection, and that is the reason why I need to travel ahead of you.” His smile widens even more. “We wouldn’t want someone to snatch the prize from right under our noses would we?”
He looks over at Ragn’nar “ As for the prepayment, I think that we can arrange something” and he diggs out 2gp from his pouch and pushes them over the table towards Ragn'nar.
“So how about it, Morgain my friens, are you in?”
OOC: Det borde vara i privat chatten, men du valde blå
Ragn'nar receives the gold coins while smiling happily as if he had made his best deal of all time.
He glances at Mograine. "And you Mr. Gladiator, with the weird language, what are you waiting for? Let's find some Goblins!"
Mograine nods towards Gundren as he finished his sentence. And without knowing anything about this half-orc he's starting to like him already. With a chuckle he answers. "Alright Rag'nar, lets find some Goblins and get ourselves some gold!"
Gundren claps his hands, ”Then it is settled! Me and Sildar will be riding ahead this afternoon to tend to business in Phandalin. When you two get to the south gate in two dats time you will be met by Rodrigues Gonzo, an associate of mine who work in the stables. He will have prepared an ox wagon with provitions and tools for you to transport.”
And so the day arrived for you to be at the gate. You met up with Rodrigues and was provided with the wagon which was packed full of an assortment of mining supplies and food. This includes a dozen sacks of flour, several casks of salted pork, two kegs of strong ale, shovels, picks, and crowbars (about a dozen each), and five lanterns with a small barrel of oil.
And so you set out on this simple mission. Time goes by and the scenery is the same hour after hour. To your right you have open fields and farms for as far as you can see until you get to Neverwinter forest. And to your left you can see miles of the same until you get to the sea of swords.
Ragn'nar, who has taken control of the wagon by just the habit and not even discussed with Mograine, starts to mumble a little to himself after a few hours of silence and lookout. As difficult as it is with silence, Ragn'nar tries to break the silence.
"Mr. Gladiator, what did he mean with The High Forest? Ragn'nar comes from The Red Forest!"
"Maybe we should find a place to camp and talk through the situation. Ragn'nar doesn't understand."
Mograine, who's gladly walking next to Rag'nar since he himself didnt have to be the one pulling the cart. "The High Forest? It's a place far too close to.." Mograine stops his sentance. He clears his throat and continues: "Im not entirely sure why you call it The Red Forest. I've always known it as The High Forest myself. What is your profession friend?" Mograine continues, trying to keep the conversation going to find out more about this half-orc.
"Ragn'nar is soldier! Battle in big war! And you are a gladiator! Ragnar is glad he joined him. Ragn'nar has walked alone long since the great war. Ragn'nar knows that a human gladiator is strong!"
Maybe Ragn'nar had something stronger than water with him, but he actually enjoyed the company, he had been missing for a long time.
As you make your way along the High Road, the sun is starting to set, and with it the sky start to turn orange and the insects start to emerge. It’s time to find somewhere to camp for the night.
After a few minutes Morgain can see a huge tree where the branches fall as if it were a tent, but as you get close to it you can make out voices.
-Voice 1 “Hey there yo little brat. Yo think yo so smart don’t ya?”
- Voice 2 “Hehe good one boss! Look he is gon pee his pants. What a wuss!”
-Voice 1 “Well give us your stuff and we will only beat ya a little!”
As Mograine is about to tell Rag'nar why he's really here, the voices appear in the forest.
"Oh, that's nice. Im glad to know that you can handle a weapon Rag'nar. You seem like a good, strong one. Why Im here? It's becau.. Wait! Do you hear the voices Rag'nar? Do you hear the voices from the woods over there?" Mograine takes a firm grip around is battleaxe with his hand and with the other one he points towards where the voices came from.
Ragn'nar immediately stands up, takes his greatsword, does not say a word but gives Mograine a clear look that he is on his way to see what it is about.
- Voice 1 "Shut up you piece of shit, we WILL take your food and your stuff and then we'll slit your throat"
You hear a loud slap from inside the "camping tree". Toby, you take 1 bludgeoning damage.
-Voice 2 "Uhm Greg? he doesn't seem to have a lot of stuff on him. And..Uhm.. I have nevere killed no one before."
-Voice 1 (Greg) "Shut your trap you dumb shit, now he knows my name!"
Morgain and Ragn'nar, you can attempt a DC 9 stealth check to see if you can go unheard towards the "tent tree" Ragn'nar has a chainmail on him and rolls with disadvantage.
Despite his size and heavy armor, Ragn'nar manages to move forward slowly and stand behind a larger tree. He sits down and looks through the leaves at what's going on. He feels frustration but tries to calm himself down so as not to run forward and beat them all three. Maybe they just friends that argue right now. Or are any of them in danger?
