Baird notices the arcane sigil drawn in chalk and glyphs and nods

Meep nods and hops off of Bairds shoulders, standing beside him bipedally and waiting for the others to be ready once the circle is up. "I assumed that much yeah. Magic is fickle sometimes."

One of the mages looks at Baird with a raised eyebrow and annoyed look on his face. A permanent circle is a permanent circle. You will always come through here if you are going to that same place. Take this scroll for the return trip. He'll hand Meep a scroll and put the finishing touches on the sigils. There. You may all step into the circle, and I will transport you there. When you are ready to return, one of the arcane minds among you must use that scroll. Come on, step in the circle.

Back and ready to DM and chew bubblegum. And I'm alllll outta bubblegum.
As soon as everyone is in the circle, the mage steps in and chants in a low voice. A feeling of nothingness overtakes you, and a disorienting rush of wind seems to pick you up and everything goes black.
After what seems like hours, but was most likely only a few seconds, colors come back into focus, and you appear in a clearing in a ring of trees, with a few other humans wearing Harper pins. Well met, one of them says. Welcome to the ass of the Sword Coast. Come with me, I'll show you where you're headed. He turns and heads through the trees, towards the crest of a nearby hill.

He gives you a nod and a wry smile. Name's Ren. Been waiting for you guys. Boareskyr Bridge is right over the hill here. You should be able to find the info you need from the town. Good luck. From the top of the hill, you see a large, black granite bridge stretching across a winding river. The "town" nearby is merely a collection of tents, caravans, and wagons spreading out from the base of a keep at the end of the bridge.

"Well met." - Ree'lyn bows, expressing no emotions whatsoever, while glancing around the place and the people. - "I suppose we will have your briefing on the situation."
Baird: It's eerily quiet here. No sounds of wildlife at all.
Ren nods. We followed Varram to the town, watched him from the outskirts. There was a little activity, and he went out across the bridge with his bodyguards, tall fellows in dark robes. We went to follow him....he sighs, and shakes his head. We're still not sure what happened. Somehow, they set up an ambush for us. Before we even knew what was happening, 3 of my men were dead. We retreated back to here, healed up and set up the circle for you. He shakes his head again. Whatever the hells those things were...we weren't ready for it. We were no match.

Ren smiles grimly. Slow down, big guy. We don't even know where he went, and weren't in any shape to start questioning the townspeople about it, either. Check in with them, they might have a better idea. We'll stay here and make sure this thing isn't disturbed. Don't want anything else following you, eh?

Baird clacks the side of his axe against the outside of the shield with light force, nothing louder than a regular clap, though woody sounding. He gives a smile and seems to relax a bit.
Ye prob'ly right. I just get dat fire in me sometimes. I fink the teleport spell help do it, den see dis place, not a damn bit a huntin ta do.
AND dares some real big shit goin down mate. Like crazy ****in shit. Give us names, people ta seek in town. I don't want ta waste me time talkin ta folk dat i aint got no business talkin ta.
Ren shrugs. Don't have any names for ya, sorry. We never went to town, we were tryna keep a low profile. I'd say your best bet is to try over there...seems to be the hub of activity here. He points to a large pavilion in the middle of the sea of tents.

Baird gives a lopsided smile, and a shrug.
Baird turns to Xil, and says,
'Ow much was de drink ye got mate?
(Not knowing it was charged to the harpers, he is willing to pay a bit.)

Baird locks eyes with the mage as he walks by, unblinking, and never breaking, taking his place as he was directed.
"Thank you all, I hope we return swiftly and with good news." Thorark says to the mages and steps into the circle.

Meep stashes the scroll into her pack before stepping into the circle with the others.

Baird stumbles as he finds solid ground again, then assists meep to her feet.
Upon hearing the speaker insult the location, he chuckles and says out loud,
I fink im gonna like that guy. Ay mate, whats yer name?

Baird very unsettled by the landscape, speaks to Ren, never removing his eyes and furrowed brow from the horizon constantly searching.
Aye, many fights are over before dey begins. It be all in de mind. Ambushed ye said? Man? Beast?
Baird turns and lockes eyes with Ren,
It dont matter. Lead de way. Im itchin fer a bloodshed.
As he says this he draws a hand axe and shield, and breaths heavily through his nostrils.
