Famous saying "last but not least" was the best description for the next guest entrance. He did not make any special noise or gesture, did not announce himself or anything, but the confidence of a noble, certain that he is at home where ever he is at the moment, practically radiated off him. Tall (and who was not in here?) but proportionally, slim, whith obvious elven features yet not quite elf, bright as a new golden coin and as attractive - yet he did not look as a spoiled helpless brat: rapier at his side and a crossbow on his back did not look decorative - practical weapon if a touch too well crafted. He looked around with well contained excitement and addressed welcoming committee:
"Good evening", not sure how to address the man he just smiled, "I am here to meet Father Odaya Uday. Would you mind take me to him?"
The commotion on the floor did pick his interest but not enough to gape.
"The Xanathar Guild, you must've heard of them, ya' know... Guild that claims they're a guild and if you don't call them a guild then they send one of their dozens of trained assassins to kill you, no one knows who runs those hellhounds", He goes on, "all I know is ya' should not mess with 'em, crazy they are! Now, enough of that, gonna get our heads chopped off if we continue talking 'bout them."
'Oh, we're well aware.' Gallias replied. 'The Xanathar has been a perrenial thorn in the City Watch's side for years but like damn rats, for every one we arrest, there are seven more running about.' He took another swing from his mug. His mind wandered over all the information the City Watch has on the Xanathar, which was, embarrassing to admit, not a whole lot. Gallias wiped the froth of the ale from his mouth with the back of his hand before leaning in a bit closer. 'About this Cassalanters' business...'
As you all sit around doing your own thing the sounds of gamblers yelling and drunken adventurers singing bawdy songs nearly drown out the off-key strumming of a young bard three tables over.
Then all the noise is eclipsed by a shout: “Ya pig! Like killin’ me mates, does ya?” Then a seven-foot-tall half-orc is hit by a wild, swinging punch from a male human whose shaved head is covered with eye-shaped tattoos. Four other humans stand behind him, ready to jump into the fray. The half-orc cracks her knuckles, roars, and leaps at the tattooed figure — but before you can see if blood is drawn, a crowd of spectators clusters around the brawl. What do you do?
(I'ma doze off now so that everyone has a chance to say what they want to do, while I'm gone try and negotiate what yall're gonna do as you all hear this)
Gallias jumped up, lest his table be knocked over and good ale is spilled. He grabbed his buckler shield tightly in his left hand and uttered a quick guidance prayer in Savras' name just in case. He then plucked his mug from the table before retreating back a bit from the tavern brawl. 'This happens a lot?' He asked Jalester.
Lassodon looks up and gives a light sigh as he closes up his books and walks over to the front of the crowd. He looks disappointingly at the group of people behind the man "If ya's been raised right you would know its right dishonorable to be jumpin someone in a barfight, especially if they have some troubles between em."

Jonas downs his drink and wraps his meal in a scrap of fabric before placing it in his bag. He stands and makes his way to the commotion. Mumbling under his breath as he crosses the room, "dont know him, don't know her, just watch. "
Jonas will hold his shield but not blade and stand ready. Doesn't matter who or on what side, if he sees someone trying to jump into the fight he will grab them by the collar and headbutt them. Attack: 8 Damage: 5 If it stays 1 on 1 he will just watch.
Sampson, who is in the corner takes in what is happening. He notices Jonas fighting someone. He sneaks behind Lassodon to try to break up the fight before anyone gets hurt. Stealth: 14
(Holy cow that's a lot of replies! Nearly every player!)
(PoorBui) That check would succeed, Lassodon has a Passive of 10, or if you meant just sneaking in general then that would also succeed
(FuruJiru) Jalester "Yep, no one's got any IDEA how much me and Durnan have to pay for property damage! So inconsiderate :/"
(Caobis AND Tamu) In the crowd-made arena you can see 5 of what you can safely say are Xanathar Guild members, with the leader and the main one who is landing the punches, which really isn't much, as the Half-Orc is clearly more skilled, and the four other members are poised to tackle her, Make a History/Investigation/Perception Check to recognise the Half-Orc
(BlueBayou) I'm confused, Father? I can't remember you saying anything about that in the backstory! :P Also Btw, it's a woman, but whatever's going on *Durnan takes you to Obaya Uday*
(If we use regular DnD combat rules then the first combat encounter is gonna take days, so I guess here are the PbP combat rules: Everyone roll for initiative like normal, all the players go in order of their initiative like normal, and then I reply to every players action and what happens then once everyone goes enemy NPCs all take their turns at all at once and the NPCs have no initiative, so like in turn based games you select all your units move and then press to go and everyone moves at once, basically that, and if someone of lower initiative wants to do something that would contradict what a higher initiative wants to do then the lower initiative can edit their post to do something different, e.g. if two people want to move to the same square, and it won't directly impact combat, put one of them one square to the side )
Sampson sneaks behind the male human and puts him in a choke hold (after letting Jonas get a few hits in) and yells, "nobody move, seize this useless fighting and be normal."
OOC: My bad - "cleric" automatically read as "Father". Would "Mother" work? :)
Kieran slightly bowed his head, greeting Mother Uday "I have to thank you for invitation, the place does look entertaining". He ordered some wine. "So, this is the place where people search for willing adventures to do their bidding?"
'Can't even get a decent drink in peace.' Gallias muttered under his breath after downing the remainder of his ale. He threw away the empty mug.
'Might as well act.' He touched the crystal hanging around his neck and felt power infuse his body after two castings of thaumaturgy: one mote he directed towards his voice, the other flowed out of him into the candle lights around him in the tavern.
'CEASE THIS UNLAWFUL CONDUCT IMMEDIATELY!' Gallias' voice boomed three times as loudly through the air as the flames flickered in concordance with his timbre. He then flashed the crowd his City Watch horn, letting them know he was willing to call in back-up if unnecessary.
Intimidation roll, I presume? 26 (if the added effects do anything, feel free to modify)
Sampson like looks up from his captive, "thank you" , then returns to whispering very quietly to his capitive about how much of an idiot he is for picking a fight in this tavern and ruining the place. Intimidation: 8
The bartender waves back, "I'm guessing you're an adventurer? From your armor and sword I could probably guess so, just don't go doin' yer darn "Adventuring" down in Undermountain, everyone that goes down there dies, it's pretty easy to tell given the sounds of screeching stirges and screaming cowards! By the way, I'm Durnan, Do you want a drink? We have plenty of Shadowdark Ale since the last shipment arrived a yesterday."
"I'm looking for Meloon Wardragon, have you seen him?" says Gunthar just before the brawl starts.
As Gallias shouts and shows the City Watch horn, Gunthar rushes to his side, giving him a quick nod while wielding his shield in order to show the symbol of the Loyal Fury to the crowd.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Sorry I've been gone for a while, my Essentials Kit arrived and then I had to call customer support because the code wasn't working)
(Tamu) That check would succeed, you recognise the Half-Orc as Yagra Stonefist, a tavern frequenter, and member of the Zhentarim, a Black Network part Guild part Gang that trades goods and mercenaries
(FuruJiru) Everyone is silenced by your (26? your intimidation is +5 so did you add to it more because of the Thaumaturgy or what? Anyway) intimidation and also in surprise that a City Watch was at Yawning Portal, as the City Watch usually don't care about anything that happens
(PoorBui) The man says sorry multiple times and makes a dex check to get out of your grip, if you're fine with him getting out then just don't roll a strength check 18, (Nice) (Also, it's a tavern/bar)
(BlueBayou) "Basically yeah, I don't work here and I'm not always here but you constantly employers and adventurers chatting, and a lot of the adventures that happen are actually here! If you look down that huge hole you can see Undermountain, that's a gigantic dungeon owned by 'The Mad Mage' No one knows who he is, and everyone that's gone down there has died that I know of, and no one knows what's down there really. I wouldn't recommend you go down there but once you're stronger then I'd be happy to help you in preparing to go down." (If you do want to go down there at level 5 or higher then we'll be starting another campaign I have, Dungeon of The Mad Mage, and I've never read it so if you do then we're gonna be taking a break for a few days)
Yagra thanks Sampson and Gallias for helping her out, though she does seem a bit annoyed about not just getting to finish him off
OOC: Redbonklesif you address us in the posts by our character's names, we might learn faster who is who :) Just saying.
"Interesting, truly. And what are the running deals right now? Any one is on the look out for a help? Not sure I am ready to take that crazy dungeon head on, but would be delighted to test my skills with something a touch simpler."
(OCC @DM, my opinion on rolling the initiative, it may be work better if you roll the initiative in your post so that each of us has an immediate idea about who is starting first etc. So that can we post individually and it may be easier to understand the situation. It is just my opinion of course.)
"I'm not sure, I don't really pay attention to who's looking for who but I have an idea of where you can get a lighter challenge than delving into Undermountain, ya see. There's this 'Cache of Dragons' which is hidden somewhere in Waterdeep, and all anyone knows about it is that if you were to find it, you'd be able to have enough money to supply and entire human family for the rest of their life! It's expected that this has been hidden extremely well and there will most likely be multiple locks and other defences, but that may be a bit easier than Undermountain, just don't go asking around about it as either no one will know about it or Xanathar will start hunting you down trying to figure out what you know about it."
"Cache of Dragons"... I like how it sounds. But sure if it's not just a legend someone does have at least some idea what is it all about? For example, how it become a common knowledge? Who brought the news? When was it hidden and so on".
