DM looking for 4-6 players for a Ravnica campaign, Point buy, Milestone, no gold encumberment, no Edgy Orphan Rogues, and it also helps a lot if you have G'sGtR as that has all the races and guilds in it, for people who have never heard of Ravnica it's basically an entire plane that is of city and there are 10 Guilds, also lot's of Magicky Science in this, and no Evil or CN, all Sourcebook races are allowed, included eberron as it would make perfect sense for something like a Warforged to exist in Ravnica
Application:
Name: Race and Class: Guild: (Background:, only do this if you don't have the sourcebook and so you can't select the normal guild background, still select Guild tho, just not in the background slot) Backstory: Alignment: Why your character might decide to work with other guilds: Do you have the Sourcebook?:
The Guilds: (For people who don't have the book or just want a quick rundown)
Azorius Senate: Alignment: Usually lawful, often neutral
Consider the Boros Legion for your character if one or more of the following sentences ring true:
You are drawn to the ideal of the knight in shining armor.
You like playing clerics, paladins, or disciplined fighters.
Smiting foes with holy radiance fills you with righteous joy.
You want to protect the innocent and fight for justice.
Shortened: Rightous boios smite evil
House Dimir: Alignment: Usually neutral, sometimes evil
Suggested Races: Half-elf, human
Suggested Classes: Monk, rogue, wizard
If the following sentences describe you, you might enjoy playing a character who belongs to House Dimir:
You love subterfuge, intrigue, and deception.
You like to play rogues, spies, and assassins.
The idea of stealing thoughts instead of treasure has a special appeal to you.
You want to deceive your fellow players without necessarily betraying them.
Shortened: Why would you want to join Dimir, it's just a made up name for an imaginary guild, also what's Dimir? They've never existed and I doubt ever will
Golgari Swarm: Alignment: Usually neutral, often evil
You might enjoy playing a character who belongs to the Simic Combine if one or more of the following statements are true:
You are drawn to the image of the mad scientist tinkering with the fundamental forces of life.
You like playing curious wizards, druids, or mutants.
Prying into secrets and mysteries inspires your curiosity.
You want to make the world a better place through research.
Shortened + Note, Awesome researchers are kinda like Izzet except they don't mention this but as a Simic you CAN LITERALLY BECOME AN ALIEN EXPERIMENT WITH SUPERPOWERS, you're gonna need the Sourcebook if you wanna do that tho
Just be warned that as this will be my first non-premade adventure I may end up running out of ideas after a few adventures, though I'm pretty sure I'll be starting with the premade adventure that comes with the Sourcebook, but at some point I may end up stopping the campaign after a while
I am definitely interested in this. I will try to update this post later.
Name: Slag Race and Class: Warforged artificer Guild: Izzet League
Backstory: Created by some of the best goblin minds within the Izzet Leage, Slag was originally created as a test subject of sorts. Often used as the target of new spells or the wielder of new technology. Because of this, Slag has been badly damaged and crudly repaired over and over, taking a toll on the warforged. Eventually, the seeing how well warforged handled the tests and noticing his intelligence.. they started to treat him as a fellow member of the league and giving him more important assignments. Being created by and mostly interacting with goblins, Slag himself acts very much like them in a number of ways. Although he tends to be a little more less chaotic in nature, he is very much at home surrounded by his crazy goblin family. Over the years, Slag has begun focusing mostly on fire and electricity based spells and inventions.. and has recently begun work on a new invention that is sure to impress the league... But the search for materials has lead him to look for help outside the league...
Alignment: true neutral
Why your character might decide to work with other guilds: Slag is always searching for items required to craft his next great invention, as well as enhance his own body. He doesn't care who he has to work with to acquire what he wants.
Name: Menetey Race and Class: Gnome Fighter Guild: Boros Legion
Background: Soldier Backstory: Menetey comes from a long line of Boros gnome commanders. It is extremely evident with Menetey, given his skills with combat at a young age. Everything was pointing to him continuing the line of having a significant role of defending Ravnica from the front lines. His mother, Cadaline, did not want that to be his future. In her fourth century, she has grown all too knowledgeable of the corruption in the Boros Legion, and the guilds in general. When she gave birth to him, she saw innocence she had previously thought was lost in the plane. She urged Menetey to find a woman he could grow old with and settle. Menetey disagreed. He's heard whispers of corruption even as a cadet. He swore to his mother that he will defend Ravnica from evil and bring justice to those who deserve it. No more, no less. Seeing as he wouldn't budge, Cadaline brought Menetey to her private chambers. There, she kept a sword that has brought countless foes down for the last thousand years: The Bravery. She took a deep breath and handed it to him, saying, "If you're going to do as I did, you need a proper sword." Menety took the blade, marveling at it's beauty, and replied, "I swear, I will do more."
Alignment: Lawful Good Why your character might decide to work with other guilds: Menetey will be more than willing to help those who need his help. He may not understand how other guilds function, but he knows genuine when he sees it. Do you have the Sourcebook?: No
Eoloth has always felt at home in the Selesnya Conclave. While the sense of community and belonging were big draws to initiates to the conclave, it was the focus on nature and growth that garnered Eoloth's interest. Even when he was younger, he'd spend most of his time tending the fields in Precinct Three with his brothers and sisters. He didn't consider it work because he always had a fun time talking with them while he completed the tasks. While he was the quieter one out of his siblings, he still enjoyed being with them and listening to their banter.
As Eoloth grew older, his siblings all seemed to go their separate ways. Some moved up within the Conclave itself while others decided they wanted to venture further out of the District itself. Eoloth always found Mat’Selesnya called to him and he continued his work within the guild. He kept his head out of the politics of the other guilds as they fought for what control they could find. He heard about the Gruul in the Red Wastes and the threats they brought upon the civilization there. He always tried to find common ground with people in other guilds and having siblings spread among them also helped. He was able to hear their opinions on different things and grew to understand the differences.
As the years went by though, he found himself talking with his siblings less and less. He began to dedicate his time training with a small group of Loxodon that had devoted themselves to defending what natural wonders still existed between the cracked streets and looming towers. He found his calling with them and they trained him in the ideas of being a monk. Eoloth really wasn't much of a fighter. He was more likely to take the time to talk out an issue before jumping into fisticuffs. However, he also new that things were becoming unsettled and he wanted to be able to defend Mat’Selesnya if he needed to.
Alignment: Neutral Good Why your character might decide to work with other guilds: Eoloth is always willing to help other guilds when it comes to protecting nature. He also has been known to work with other guilds when humanitarian efforts are involved in helping people that are struggling whether it be with food, shelter, or even attacks by foul creatures. He sees that there is good within each of the guilds and does enjoy learning about their ideologies. He isn't shy about professing his love for the Conclave though.
Name: Loom Race and Class: Changling Rogue Guild: Dimir (Golgari) Backstory: Dimir Operative. Loom has been assigned to infiltrate the Ochran Assassins. She will appear as a Drow most of the time. (I know it's short, but given this type of character I'd rather do more frontstory if that's okay. If not I'll write something up.) Alignment: LE
Why your character might decide to work with other guilds: Infiltration is the ultimate goal of the Dimir. More exposure means more information.
I know what would might work for a Wild Magic Sorcerer... A SIMIC HYBRID *Airhorn noises* (I love Simics if you couldn't tell)
You convinced me...
I made my sheet earlier but kept having issues with posting on here. I might have got DDB blocked at work or I might have just been unlucky.
Name: Turf
Race and Class: Simic Hybrid sorcerer
Guild: Simic Combine
Backstory: Turf was normal. Your average Vedalken. He wanted more. Like yes he seemed to be good with people but he felt he was lacking. So when he heard about the Guardian Project he signed up, he had always been in the background of the guild, talking to people, recruiting some, subtly influencing others, now he had a chance to make a difference. He wasn't prepared for the side effect of the change, and neither were the Simic Combine. They have failed to recreate the effect but he is making the most of it. The merge gave him power, magical abilities that he can't fully control but that he is using to further the research to allow nature and people to thrive together.
Alignment: Neutral
Why your character might decide to work with other guilds: research. First hand observation of how the other guilds work and develop to bring back to the Simic combine. And maybe see if they will give him research as if the Simic get a major breakthrough it could benifit everyone.
Name: Erethas Race and Class: Eladrin Ranger Guild: Selesnya Conclave
Backstory: (General backstory since I prefer fleshing out all of this in rp)
Having made his way from the Feywild, Erethas has found himself joining the Selesnya as the one guild which reminds him of his former home. Born from a family of rangers and as an Eladrin, he has traveled the many planes of existence and came to Ravnica, seeking to see a society very different that what he has been accustomed to. He joined the Conclave soon after his arrival when he noticed the overwhelming sense of community and pride of working together. In protecting what is left of nature in a world that seems to be losing its grip on it.
Alignment: Chaotic good
Why your character might decide to work with other guilds: As a free spirit, would work with any other guilds towards a greater good. A world where everyone gets along and is free of strife and turmoil.
