By identifying the crystal staff, you confirm Ritska's suspicions that it is in fact a crystal staff of the magi, but it is broken, or incomplete. It can be wielded as a +2 quarterstaff, but has none of its other capabilities at the moment.
OOC: It sounds like Aradurk is taking the +3 rapier and Gruun is taking the +2 cloak of protection. Let me know if that is not the case.
There are also still 5 gold pieces and the crystal staff to be claimed.
Is there any business to take care of here in Luskan, or is the party heading straight for the Pork on the Fork?
Ritska shares the pointed look with Killian, giving a solemn nod in response. "As you wish."
With the sun set high in the sky, the party departs once Hox has replenished his ammunition, and you put Luskan to your backs. After such grim days in the broken city, the pleasant weather provides almost meditative travel, though what lies ahead surely darkens the horizon. Along the way, the temporary enhancements granted to your armor and weaponry by Ritska fade, returning them to their former quality. What few groups you see traveling the road give such dangerous-looking adventurers a wide berth, and within a few days you reach a small roadside tavern before nightfall. Its sign has no lettering, but the imagery of a pig atop a specific utensil gives it away rather simply.
Inside, the tavern is quaint, and almost run-down. A single story, the only other doorway looks like it connects to the stable at the side of the tavern. There are only two patrons inside: A male human and a female half-orc, both well armed, in conversation at one of the tavern's six tables. The only other presence within is a halfling man at the bar, looking bored and cleaning glasses. His eyes widen at the sight of the unique party, but he only clears his throat and motions his arms toward the tables.
OOC: Updated coinage and equipment gained from the battle with Doramor and his forces. Note that Gruun's cloak of protection does require attunement to use.
Aradurk’s eyes brighten at the sight of the half-orc. He cozies up to the bar and orders a round. “First one’s on me”, Aradurk chuckles. “I will have an ale, mate.”
He looks back at the female half-orc, perceptively.

Wes sits at the bar and joins in for an ale.
if he can see a doorway to the kitchen/back, Petunia will *poof* behind there and start investigating and ensuring there isn’t any traps or anything lurking. She will go search the rooms next.
The halfling stops cleaning to pour a drink for Aradurk, patting the counter for the coin. He looks up at Killian and smirks. "Well, you found him. Figured by the look of you lot, you weren't here for drink...at least, not most of you," he says, pushing the mug of ale across the counter toward Aradurk.
When Wes orders his ale, the bartender pours it into a mug half-again as large as Aradurk's, saying with a wink, "Big glasses for small folk here."
OOC: Removed 5 cp for the ales.
For Aradurk:
The half-orc is clearly a martial fighter, judging by the weapons she carries: A glaive, a longsword, and a pair of handaxes. Her human companion wears chain mail and carries a mace and shield. They both seem to be in casual conversation at the moment, and carry relaxed, but cautious, expressions.
For Wes:
OOC: There does not appear to be a kitchen or any bedrooms. As described, there is only a single door that looks as if it connects to the stables at the side of the tavern.
Did you want to peer through Petunia's eyes, or just have her investigate?
Aradurk take a long pull from his ale and taps his meaty fingers across the surface of the bar, watching the half-orc, studying the pair. Then walks over to the pair.
In a challenging effort to appear to be more refined, Aradurk, trying to put on his “fly casual but don’t look like you’re flying casual” eyes and asks, “Salutations - I couldn’t help notice that you two seem in need of a threesome. Can I get either of you a drink?” And then takes another pull from his ale.
Killian will pull out the pin and show it to the halfling. “Ritska sends this,” she eyes all the drinking but doesn’t grab one. “And requests you help us.”
The human looks aghast at Aradurk, but the half-orc woman chuckles. "You know Raiker, I'm afraid to ask for fear of actually turning you into a tomato," she says. The man coughs to deflect attention, looking away. "In one case, the answer is no, because we're a party of two, no more, no less. In the other, I wouldn't turn down a drink," she adds.
Milo starts to answer, "I'm afraid that I don't know who you--oh, hello Hox--he's not going to cause any trouble, is he? We don't exactly get the sort of clientele that would be put off by a kobold, but keep an eye on--"
He stops mid-sentence when Killian shows the pin. "I see." He takes the pin, studies it for a long moment, and tucks it into a pocket in his shirt. "I won't even ask. If Ritska is giving up that favor, then something big is going on."
He glances over toward Aradurk and the other patrons. "Follow me. And bring the half-orc if he's with you."
The halfling walks over toward the door next to the bar, and opens the door into the attached stable, and motions for you to join him before walking through.
Aradurk, aware of the reason they’re there, tosses a gold piece on the bar, “A drink for the lady,” then smiles and winks at her as he rejoins the group toward their pursuit.

"Pork on Fork...Hox been there...Found wooden halfling." He says as he starts to vaguely remember.
Wes will take the staff to identify it.

Killian will leave her share of the gold on the table, then pointedly look to Ritska. “For your Schoolchildren,” she says, indicating the pile.
