(Sage). Amy grew up in a monastery, studying ancient scriptures and practicing martial arts. She was exploring one day, away from the monastery, when drow raiders attacked her home from the caverns below, slaying her friends and capturing her master, a renowned monk who she respected and loved like a father. Amy went after the drow, following them into the Underdark without a plan.
Days passed. She was tired and lost, and when a drow raiding party found her in the Underdark, it didn't take them long to capture her. Now, she is a prisoner of the drow, and she plans to escape and find her master.
Questions: should we use equipment? I've heard that OotA starts without any.

Name: Rosella Brightwood Race: Protector Aasimar Class: Ranger (If I can play Revised Ranger I'll go with Beast Conclave, if not I'll go with monster hunter and edit my backstory accordingly) Background(includes backstory) Outlander
Rosella doesn't remember a time when Mykiel wasn't offering her advice or spurring her on to adventure into the world to make it better. The only issue was Mykiel didn't know when to let her rest. He was always looking into the future to see what would happen next while Rosella was trying to make the village she lived in safer. She finally left when she began to have dreams of dangerous powers and events that could possibly end the world. Whether they were from Mykiel or not she never dared asked.
As she finally began to wander the world the way Mykiel wanted, Rosella had an issue of happening across people that need help and taking the job, no matter what she was doing at the time or if she was already helping someone else. She never did anything for herself, happy to help others no matter what the cost was to her. This changed when she uncovered a panther cub, abandoned by it's mother. Rosella bundled the cub up in her cloak and continued on her way. She never asked Mykiel's advice. She didn't care. If she wasn't allowed to make the choice of where she was to go next, she could make the choice to save a cub. Mykiel never brought it up though, maybe it was just something he didn't care about. She raised the cub herself in the woods where she camped in between towns and other places where she could rest. She named him Wonder and the two of them were inseparable.
Rosella was sent to the Underdark by Mykiel, with vague warnings to be careful. She wasn't quite sure what he meant by that, and continued onward. The only thing that really unsettled her was that her dreams of something world ending occurring were getting more and more frequent, and she wished she could figure out what it meant so that she could stop it.
Backstory: Qa is from the Storm Horns. Here he grew up in a tribe that had come from the Elemental Plane generations before and had taken up residence in the mountains near Cormyr. As a youth, his tribe had been attacked by a large green dragon, destroying there home and killing most of the members of the tribe. Those that survived scattered, looking for refuge from the beast. None of the survivors knew why, after generations of relative peace, the dragon had turned on them.
Qa sought answers in devotion to the god Talos. Seeking his answers in the wind and thunder. Listening for clues in the rain and the storm. His devotion has brought him closer to his god but has not yet brought him closer to an understanding of what happened to his people.

Growing up with her father, older sister and younger half-sister, Ireniana wanted to become an officer like her parents and began training to become a warrior, even winning the Waterdavian Silverhands Gloves boxing tournament. She spent some years in the Neverwinter guard before becoming a private investigator for hire. Ireniana wants to punch criminals in their turkey neck and avenge her mother. Name: Mordikaii (Character link: https://ddb.ac/characters/16268387/Dw22rt) Race: Warforged (I want to reflavoured this as a new type of undeath, more explanation below) Class: Cleric - Death Domain Alignment: Lawful Neutral Background: Hermit Ability scores: 10, 14, 14, 12, 13, 13(I will update character sheet, if chosen for the party) Backstory:
Mordikaii heard a call, and followed it to a lost and forgotten tomb.
Within, Mordikaii found the writings and equipment left by some long lost necromancer.
Mordikaii dedicated himself to studying what he found, and discovered that the necromancer was in communication of an entity called The Undying Master.
The necromancer was in the process of undergoing a transformation that the The Undying Master had given instruction for, but what had happened and where the necromancer was now, was unknown.
Mordikaii decided to attempt to make contact with The Undying Master, and was successful.
The Undying Master had made the original call to Mordikaii, and had chosen him to be his new harbinger.
Mordikaii listened to the words of The Undying Master, recording them and adding them to those left by the necromancer.
Once he was ready, The Undying Master directed Mordikaii in the process of going through the transformation.
Once his form was remade, and his soul was bound to The Undying Master, Mordikaii was sent out to spread the knowledge of The Undying Master.
For now The Undying Master is content to make contact with those who seek knowledge of necromancy. And to build a good name among the poor and downtrodden. But one day the whole world will be brought into peace and unity under The Undying Master, either willingly or by the embrace of undeath.
So Mordikaii emerged from his long hermitage, and set out to build a name for The Undying Master, and convert all who would willingly do so, to follow his master.
Unfortunately, things didn't go as envisioned, and Mordikaii was captured by slavers before he could even make it back to civilisation and was then sold to a group of drow. Mordikaii now finds himself sometime later, doing hard labour at some unknown location in the Underdark.
Notes on reflavour/etc:
First, I understand if you don't want to deal with a character like this, or any reflavouring, but I am submitting this idea, just in case you like it.
So the warforged, don't need to sleep (only rest), eat, drink or even breath. They appear to be immortal from old age (isn't known for sure), and are immune to disease and resistant to poison.
So the idea would be, that Mordikaii has undergone a transformation that has turned him into a new type of undead, encased in a new skin of metal, to keep his now undead body from falling apart, all over the place. Functionally he would just be a warforged, with all the same capabilities and restrictions. but thematically he would be a kind of undead, but a little different to normal undead.
His god, The Undying Master, is currently weak and needs followers to start to regain his power. I was thinking of him being kind of a cross between the lich king from warcraft, and the ideal masters from the elder scrolls, but a d&d "lessor deity" version. His purpose is to one day bring everyone into unity, either by choice or by undeath. But for now he is content to build his power base, and to do that he is not seeking to make war or subjugate anyone, but to try and attract them to his side.
So Mordikaii would be preaching the good news of The Undying Master, the promise of everlasting "life", and a future of peace through unity. He would pay particular attention to spell casters and in particular those interested in necromancy. Trying to entice them to The Undying Master, with promises that the Master gives knowledge freely to those who are faithful.
So Mordikaii is planning to do adventuring work to help the peoples of the world, to build a good name for his god, and to travel to meet people so he can spread the word of his god.

In a small, hidden halfling community, little Osborn grew hearing the stories of the halfling gods and was mostly fond of Brandobaris' fantastic fables, daring escapes, and wild stories of adventure. Couple it with the village elder telling so many stories about being a bard in an adventuring party, he couldn’t resist the urge to try doing it himself.
Dav has been a loyal member of the Flaming Fists since he was 17. Tired of wandering the countryside, peddling wares and cheating travelers, he had run away from his family to the city, taking the persona of a half elf, Dav-the-nondescript, and joining the guards of Baldur’s Gate. He had excelled at thiis career, keeping the streets safe. He had worked his way up into an investigation unit, and spent time undercover in multiple organized crime groups. It was in one of these missions recently that everything changed. He had been investigating a local attorney, linked to some shady dealings, when he was discovered. The lawyer made him an offer: his life, and power, in exchange for service. He signed a pact, declaring service to some strange otherworldly being known as Demogorgon. In return, he agreed to hunt down Demogorgon’s enemies. He thus began his secret life as a serial killer of Orcus cultists and followers of other princes of the darkness.
