Paren will follow Falaine in, "I just used the floor. Much better." Paren is now carrying a small shield on his back. The centre point of the shield is emblazoned with a symbol of a tree with a spear in place of the trunk. He sits down at the table with Jonathan.
Finan is whistling cheerfully as he enters the common room, once again wearing his finer set of clothes. He'd already taken his time this morning to clear them of the layer of dust that had been clinging to it since yesterday, after the tower had collapsed in a cloud of debris, and he's been outside to splash some cold water in his face. "Good morning to you lot," he says, moving to stand behind Jonathan and clapping his hands down on his shoulders before looking around the faces already there, "How did you all sleep? By the gods, these beds. Like sleeping on clouds!" Watching Falaine's face turn towards a grimace at his words, her hair still in disarray, Finan shot her a grin, "Ah, not your preference, I gather?"
He then continues moving past Jonathan, drawing up a chair beside the man. He drags over a plate and fills it with some fruits, dark bread and slices of meat. "Do we have eggs? Ah, thank you." Then, before digging in, he sits back and fishes a coin out of his pocket, sets it down on the table in front of him and pushes it slightly towards the middle. "Question for you, has anyone ever seen one of these before? Or tell me what it is? I got it last night while playing, but I didn't see anyone toss it in my hat."
As you look, you see a normal gold coin, apart from the square hole in the middle.
Paren quickly leans in to look at the coin. "Yes! That's exactly what I'm looking for! It's the symbol of Aiden, Son of Creativity. If you're willing to follow me I believe this could lead us to something interesting." He picks up the coin from the table, deftly spinning it between his fingers before starting off down the hall to his room.

Tanni enters the common room, cracking her joints loudly and greeting people in the room as she walks to the counter to get breakfast. She's wearing a beige short-sleeved shirt, black vest and brown trousers. A fine warhammer and a pair of black gloves hang from her belt along with her heavy coin pouch. Her face is finally clean of soot and dust and after getting a big mug of water and a full plate of meat and bread, she sits down with others just as Finan presents his coin. Tanni watches a bit baffled as Paren picks up the coin and leaves the table, but she just shrugs and focuses on a more important matter, that being the pile of meat and bread in front of her and starts to destroy the pile at an impressive rate.
Falaine will enter groggily. "How do people sleep on such soft beds?"
"It is all about posture." Jonathan replies simply. "Sitting, walking, and standing correctly aids in a much better back, and soft beds become welcoming."
(Finan) then continues moving past Jonathan, drawing up a chair beside the man... ...he sits back and fishes a coin out of his pocket, sets it down on the table in front of him and pushes it slightly towards the middle. "Question for you, has anyone ever seen one of these before? Or tell me what it is? I got it last night while playing, but I didn't see anyone toss it in my hat."
As you look, you see a normal gold coin, apart from the square hole in the middle.
Jonathan looks down to the coin, passing it off as a foreign coin, then a second later does something of a double-take. "Well, I wouldn't say I haven't seen foreign coins before." He comments, he goes to pick up the coin to look at it better, holding it up to get the light in the room to check it better. "However, I think I might know where this coin should go. Where did you come by this?"
Everyone sees a fairly young wood elf, no older than 19, with tanned skin and long brown hair that has been styled into a loose braid. She wears simple brown leather armor and a burgundy hooded cloak. Slung over her back is a longbow and quiver of arrows whilst hanging off her belt are two shortswords. Her armor and weapons all seem new, as though they've barely been used, if at all. Her face is one of constant worry, though she seems to be much more relaxed when around Paren and Falaine. Her hands never stop moving as she picks at her nails and plays with the tips of her fingers.
Eira makes her way out of her room just as she sees Paren rush off back to his own. "O-oh, good m-morning Paren- and he's gone.... hm." She watches him as he goes before turning back and making her way towards Falaine. She gives everyone a shy but kind smile as she sits besides Falaine. "Uh, um.. g-good m-morning, everyone. G-Good morning, F-Falaine. D-did you sleep well? The beds were v-very comfy. Uh, w-where did Paren g-go?"
Finan watches the man stand up and leave with the coin, dumbstruck. He looks around the faces seated at the table, some equally baffled as he, while holding a piece of fruit just in front of his open mouth. "What in the..." he says, then with an annoyed grunt pops the piece into his mouth, quickly slaps some meat on the bread, folds it together and stands up with a loud scraping of his chair."I'm have not even eaten yet, you dolt!" he tells Paren loudly while chewing, then waves him forward with another annoyed grunt as the man starts to turn back around. "No, now I'm up already, just go." He snatches a quick gulp of juice from Jonathan's cup, then jams the bread into his mouth as he hurries after Paren. Just in time to hear Jonathan voice his question Finan fishes another of the coins out of his pocket and tosses it to him. "I will need that back, and I will have your hide if you lose it." he growls just as he leaves the room.

Paren already left with the first, but you now hold another gold coin with a square hole in the middle. Tied to it with a piece of red string is a small length of a white wooden twig, no longer than your pinky, the surface of the wood worn smooth.
Stepping out of his room as Paren runs by, Knok momentarily stares down the hall towards the scent of food and drink wafting his way, torn between investigating the commotion of the elf rushing past him saying something about "leading to something interesting", and filling his belly. His head turns left and right several times before curiosity wins out and he follows after Paren. "WAIT FOR KNOK!"

Quentin leaves his room with his face in his spellbook writing furiously. Only vaguely aware of his surroundings enough to side step those coming the opposite direction down the hall. When he finds himself back in the main hall he finally looks up from his scribblings to greet everyone. "Oh! Good morning everyone. Good to see you all again." He closes his book with a quick snap. Some errant energy sparking about it as he does and then places it in his bag.
After gathering some food Quentin peers at the drawing on the back of Falaine's hand as he begins to eat. "That looks like iconography to Aiden, Son of Creativity. I noticed a similar pattern on the frame of a massive painting in my room. There was also a strange recess.."He begins now seeing the coin Jonathan is holding, "...that looked like it could fit a coin just like that one. Where did find that? Was it in your room?"
Falaine will watch as people come and go. "Curious lot. So, looks like we'll all be working together to help out the town. Any thoughts on what to do after breakfast?" Falaine has been savoring a single piece of fruit.
The ravenous gnome stops for a second to greet as Eira and Quentin enter the common room before resuming her breakfast. Having finished her meal, Tanni wipes her mouth with her arm and listens as others in the table fuss about some coins. As Quentin mentions a massive painting, she thinks aloud: "Huh. guess there's a big painting in all rooms, though I didn't notice anything strange about the one in mine, apart from the needlessly large size."
As Falaine asks about the plan for today, Tanni pours another mug of water for herself and answers, "I think we should examine the remains of the tower and talk to the one who built it. Maybe we can find out why it crumbled like that. Who knows, maybe Jonathan sees another vision there, eh?"Tanni pokes Jonathan's side with her elbow and grins at him.
Jonathan pauses as he watches Knok and the others rush off. "Honestly, some people have no manners." He scoffs. "We should at least finish our kindly prepared meals before they get cold." He then looks to whomever is left, as apparently Finan is also in pursuit. "I suppose I should also wait for them to return to finish telling them..." He mentions to himself before continuing his meal, hopefully uninterrupted.
Hearing Finan's cry of indignation and realizing he just stole from someone he barely knows Paren half turns around. Seeing Finan getting up to follow he continues on. "Yes, yes. I'll give it back. No need for idle threats."He moves down the hall to his room. "Morning. Morning. Yes, come along Knok." Once at the room he turns to wait for the others. "Look, in the frame of the painting there is a notch which looks to fit something exactly like this coin. I was going to ask about it last night but got distracted by the commotion. Fortunate, since you only got this after that. I think we're being led to something."

"Knok's got one of those in his room too. Found it while staring at the painting for a long time last night. Knok didn't have the right key, so Knok just went to sleep." Sticking a long, thin finger into his left ear, the goblin goes about twisting it around for a few moments before continuing. "Glad someone has a key, though. On one of the walls is an intricate oil painting with a marvelous metal frame. It reaches from the floor to the ceiling and looks to show a elven female bard playing a horn to a group of aristocrats as a gnome reaches into one of their pockets. Finan moves to the painting with coin in hand. The rest of you draw into the room with a bit of excitement. You close the door behind you when you realize your other companions aren't following.
You notice several people enter the lounge from the street. Dressed in exceptionally fine fabrics with a note of distinction, they move directly to Ombre. You see an elf int he group drop a coin purse onto the bar top and you can hear the heavy sounds of coins. Ombre offers up a courteous smile before sliding two keys to the group. The elven woman accepts the keys and slides them into her bag keeping the symbol on the ends covered with purpose. The group then moves to the rear of the room and passes through the door to the chambers. As the door shuts, you're left to wonder what they're up to and what you're friends have found.
Tanni notices the new group and thinks, "Lots of odd folk in this town, it seems, though can't blame them for being careful after yesterdays chaos." Tanni finishes her mug and states matter-o-factly: "Well, if we're going to get to the bottom of this, we better get going. Let's gather everyone up and check the ruins." She stands up and pulls her gloves on before a thought occurs to her. "Wait, the dwarf who built the tower was staying here. Did any of you see him leaving this morning?"
