Ireniana shrugs her shoulders before reflecting on the riddle. "Could it be stars? They appear at night without being fetched, are gone during the day and there are plenty."

From the doorway you can see into a dust-cloaked twenty-foot-wide hall. Six alcoves line the walls, three to the north and three to the south. Each alcove except the southwest one holds a humanoid figure carved of red-veined white marble. The figures resemble tall elves in plate armor. A stone archway at the west end of the hall opens into a wide room from which greenish light glows. A dark pit is situated before the archway.

How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
Kastix mutters a word in draconic and the glowing door beside Royan opens up. The room is far from inviting, especially with the pit at the far end, but they need to move forward. Royan shakes of the uncharacteristic fear which he had faced a few minutes earlier and steps into the room. Having learned from the last time, he pays particular attention to the statues. This place was clearly infused with magic, and if those statues were to come alive, he would not be taken by surprise.
Royan walks about 10 ft into the room, stopping just before he reaches the first set of alcoves. As he does so he looks at them trying to spot any identifying features.
Kaylyn gives the answer and a look of confusion crosses her face when nothing happens. Then Kastix speaks in Draconic and Kaylyn gives a sheepish look back at him.
"Yeah that should have been obvious." She says.
Kaylyn peeks into the new room. She again casts Detect Magic.
"Good luck you guys, I'll stay far behind you." Kastix speak from the doorway.

Royan can perceive nothing further about the alcoves, other than that the statues are made of the same marble as the dragon statue in the previous room.
Kaylyn focuses her senses on any magical auras in the area, but can detect nothing.

Rhayna deduces that the vast majority of the member of this ancient cult were elves. These statues represent a funerary guard of honour for a high-ranking member of the cult, probably a priest, and suggest this part of the citadel is some kind of tomb. However, there are some subtle differences that Rhayna can't quite put her finger on, that distinguish this from a typical entombment.

Royan can see that the pit is about 10 feet deep, and its bottom is filled with spikes. The walls of the pit are rough enough to offer handholds to climbers. From the edge of the pit Royan can also see more clearly into the end room.Violet marble tiles cover the floor and walls, though all are cracked or broken, revealing rough-hewn stone beneath. Sconces are attached to the walls at each corner. One holds a torch that burns with greenish fire . A marble sarcophagus, easily nine feet long, lies in the room's center. The coffin is carved with dragon imagery, and the head of the sarcophagus resembles a dragon's head. Rusting iron clasps firmly lock down the lid.

Seeing that it appears safe Kaylyn also enters the room.
"I sense no magic from these statues or this room."
She focuses herself on the room with the sarcophagus.
"I am not sure the strength of this ability to sense the presence of magic so I am unsure if it will see inside the sarcophagus or not. It seems to have a range of about 30 feet as I sensed the magic of the items the kobolds had but once I got that far away it stopped."
She looks back at the others,
"Do we let the dead lie in peace or do we see what was entombed with the body?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"The dead has rested for a few centuries, " Kastix look at the latches on the coffin, "In peace is questionable, Seems like whatever inside was locked in. Let's see what's inside then?" Kastix pulls out his crowbar, "I'll help with latches but I'm ducking when we open it,"

Erky was almost sniffing the statues around, fascinated by the debts of history the represented. The new room promised new discoveries "There is no harm in looking, is there? Though I am not so sure in my abilities to cross that dangerously looking pit." He was curious but not suicidal.
Just confirming that to enter the sarcophagus room you will need to traverse the pit, which is 10-feet wide and 10-feet deep. No rolls are necessary, just difficult terrain.
@Kastix: Although you are not technically in the room yet, I'll honour those STR rolls for when you are! :D
For those who have approached the edge of the pit: The dust in the room is disturbed by tracks that start in the southwest alcove, though the tracks are filled in enough that the disturbance must have occurred dozens of years ago. They begin in the center of the alcove, move west toward the pit, and then disappear into the pit.
@Kaylyn: You detect the aura of evocation magic surrounding the green-lit torch. (Even though you probably can't see it from the edge of the pit, as it is in the next room around the corner, but you still detect the magic, and can tell there is a green-flame torch around there.)
