[[Sorry. Missed the roll. Brand knows nothing of avatars of the Goddess Aieda. As far as he knows, she is just the Moon, the wife of Mithra the Sun.
One interesting thing he does know about the Aiedan sect is they take the fertility goddess aspect of Aieda seriously, to the point that they have monthly orgies on the night of the full moon where the priests and priestesses will couple with any parishioners who attend the orgy.
It is all done with magically guaranteed protection against disease, and masks are worn to hide the identity of the participants. It is also thought that children that come from these orgies are considered blessed of Aieda.
And finally, make another roll to see if Brand can gain some experience.]]
"And how is everybody now?"
[[The enemy has managed to weaponize LSD + MDMA. We are doomed.]]
"Everybody is fine," says Minton, "In fact, many new romances have sprung up based on what happened that day."

[[I'm okay with the idea of Brand trying to achieve the effects of other 1st level spells (e.g., the Catapult spell for the Stone of Far Reaching instead of just Ray of Sickness) and being able to manipulate locks is probably something that would require significant practice on a variety of locks. "When did he die, and where?"
"Well," starts Minton, "I am not sure I understand all of it... Did he ever tell you that he came from another world? You would think that anyone who said that was delusional, but not Wamzut..."
At this point, he turns and looks briefly at a bookcase in the corner before turning back to Brand.
"His body was apparently destroyed by fire while travelling between worlds somehow. He believed that he was attacked by someone. Someone who sent creatures of spirit chasing him as his astral form fled back to this world."
For a moment he is quiet in thought, and then he says, "You wanted to know when he died, well... his physical body was destroyed well over a month ago, perhaps two... His spirit? Well that is complicated. After returning to his world, he apparently possessed the body of a young woman—yes, it's shocking, I know. Possession is a foul crime that smacks of the restless and is against the will of Donai."
After waiting for Brand to recover from this shocking revelation [[ ;-) ]] he continues, saying "But, she wasn't actually fully human, she was a half alfaren woman; have you heard of them? They're very rare, and can only be found in Gont as far as I know, no doubt some highly magical creation of the Coloured Court."
"But I am getting sidetracked... Where was I... He apparently survived in her body for quite a while, but I haven't seen him since a couple of days before Aieda healed me. And, from what I have heard, the woman, Attina, was somehow involved in death of a Seeker of the temple of Donai... A Seeker Harlan, an odious man from all account, but still a servant of the temple."
After another pause, he continues more sombrely. "In some ways, I'm glad he hasn't come back... I've been having thoughts about what happened to him, and I can't help but wonder if he is defying the will of Mithra and Donai by remaining amongst the living..."

[[Sounds good.Does he get proficiency with these as well? I think you said he did for the attack.
1. He was able to levitate stuff he was touching before (eg. if he sat in a chair, he could levitate it as well. More useful for lifting weapons, freinds, bags etc). Any chance he could try levitating things he's NOT touching? Perhaps inanimate and/or small (but more than 10lb)? Ultimately I'd like to try levitating uncooperating people, but small steps...
2. I like the catapult idea!
3. Scanning spells, I wonder if any or all of these might be possible in the future:
Tensers Floating Disk (Levitate stone, concentration? Or instead of fly?)
Gust (TK, the second two effects seem to be no-brainers)
Shield (possibly without the Magic Missile protection)

"Well," starts Minton,...
...I can't help but wonder if he is defying the will of Mithra and Donai by remaining amongst the living..."
Brand ponders for a long moment, wondering what he can say, wondering what he should say, and idly thanking the gods that Minton does not have his powers at the current time.
"I think it's a complex business -- it seems that anything to do with Wamzut is. When I look at what I saw him do in the few months I knew him, of all the lives he saved, I can not help but think his continued presence in this world would be a boon to all."
Brand smiles, a distant look in his eyes. "He could be damned annoying, though. I'd potentially even ask myself if he somehow annoyed Donnae by saving all those lives!"
"Be that as it may, I would not prejudge him until I heard his side of the tale which, sadly, it sounds like I never shall. To me, he never seemed one to harm others who had not first tried to harm him. Perhaps this elf attacked him for some reason?"
[[If it's at all likely he would know this:]]
"And -- this should probably go no further than between you and I -- Seeker Harlan was an abusive and obnoxious prat, who probably deserved to be closer to Donnae: far more so than Wamzut, certainly."
[[End if]]
Brand shakes his head. "It does seem life is getting stranger by the day; plots in the city, my friends still missing, Wamzut dead. And I've been having these very uncomfortable repeating dreams."
Brand looks at Minton with renewed intensity, "They haven't been back, have they? Melitta and Dworkin?"
[[As an aside, I am thinking part of Brand's rebellious years might have also been the rejection of the (seemingly) very devout mother's beliefs. I'm sure he is by no means atheist (hard to be when they do exist), but his experiences with Venuss and to a lesser extent the Temple of Tauron, would probably have led him down a path more akin to "most people seem to be out for what they can get, why expect any different of the gods".
He is, I think, quite aware of the pervasiveness of the religion -- and the power of potentially mendacious gods -- so would not broadly express these views. His sense of "are gods good or bad" is probably managed on a case-by-case basis. He probably doesn't like Donnae because of Venuss' treatment, and now because of Wamzut.
Is this plausible and acceptable from your view?]]

After another pause, he continues more sombrely. "In some ways, I'm glad he hasn't come back... I've been having thoughts about what happened to him, and I can't help but wonder if he is defying the will of Mithra and Donai by remaining amongst the living..."

[[I'm okay with the idea of Brand trying to achieve the effects of other 1st level spells ...]]

[[Nice. And fun to read. It's good I can compartmentalize less!]]

[[Just a quick correction in Minton's long monologue: "... Possession is a foul crime that smacks of the restless dead and is against the will of Donai." I left out the word 'dead' and 'restless dead' is a reference on the world site, if you haven't already seen it.]]
