The Taken One steps forward into the light emanating from Hadar’s mace from out of the storm. The poor human body is worn to crimson with erosion from the sand, sand and blood draining from every orifice. Seeing the fallen Halfling’s corpse, it shrieks with rage.
Within a split second it is next to Hadar, body slamming him with all its might. The human body contacts the Half-orc’s shield and bounces right off, its nose bloodied and its black eyes furious. Letting out a hollow roar, the demon brings its host’s hands to bear, fingers arched like weapons. Obsidian talons erupt from the human fingers, leaving them tattered and red. The demon attacks again, slashing at Hadar with both hands in succession – the first strike glancing harmlessly off his Scale Mail. The second attack sees a claw bury into the Scale, only to have the talon snap off at the tip.
Beyond the door, another massive bolt of lightning shakes the canyon, this one an azure so bright and hot that it sizzles the tips of everyone’s hair. A loud crack can be heard from the North end of the camp and 3 distinct screams of unholy origin sound from out in the darkness, inhumanly howling above the all consuming wind.
(3 Possessed souls have been taken in the North tower)
(OOC Those were the 3 screams of unholy origin, forgot to add that note in orange above. You have 3 more possessed soldiers now.
The large barbarian ran out the door towards them. At the end of his turn running that way, they are within 30 feet of him and are able to reach him for attack when you come up in initiative again. You'll be second again, right after Hadar's next turn.
Not wanting to destroy her only shelter from the dangerous weather outside the great hall, Ashissa concentrates on what's ahead of her.
She quickly utters an incantation under her breath as she holds the black scaled orb and appoints a curse unto the human attacking Hadar, constantly draining its strength.
She then utters another incantation and points her finger, releasing a beam of crackling energy towards the raging creature.
Bonus Action: Hex (Disadvantage on Strength checks)
Action: Eldritch Blast Attack: 10 Damage: 8 Force Damage
If it hits, Hex: 2 Necrotic Damage
The filthy Taken rolls its neck toward Ashissa at an awkward angle as it dances back from its failed attack on Hadar. Its black eyes drip a thick pus mixed with sand. It sees her point and rasps something at her in a demonic tongue as it sets its sites on her... The blast hits it squarely in the chest, ripples of energy crackling up and down the body of the host.
(Damage - 10 Force & Necrotic)
A tortured cry, somewhere between a human weeping and a demon laughing, comes from form as it crumples down to one knee. It appears that the human soul may still be fighting inside this tortured host. The face turns toward Ashissa again, this time wet with salty tears of anguish. The eyes are blue and sad, and blood drips from the cracked lips. Where the bolt struck, his flesh is charred and oozing, seeming to rot away in the deeper cuts.
"Erin! Gods please, no!!!"a woman screams from the shadows in the back of the lodge. The man glances toward the voice calling his name for one long second...
The poor wretch begins twitching violent, rolling back on his knees and shaking his head wildly, his face looking up to the ceiling. He lets out an all-too-human scream, which descends back into demonic grunting. When he looks back toward the party again, the eyes are once again black voids.
Leann emits a powerful energy as she casts a spell of protection over herself.
(Protection Against Good and Evil - Concentration 10 min, fiends roll @ disadvantage cannot be Possessed until concentration is broken)
She can see the terrifying show as the human is taken back under the spell of the Demon. It appears to be temporarily distracted by Hadar and Ashissa.
As she steps forward to the open door, the wind whips across her face, pulling strands away from her braid to whip wildly around her head. The sand is merciless here at the archway.
She fights to find a way to close the door and can hear the Barbarian, barely discernible against the wind, still roaring at the top of his lungs. The unholy shrieks, somehow defying the wind in their volume, seem to be drawing closer to the Hall.
There is an inner handle on the Huge piece of wood, connected to one of the three large iron bands bolted along it. Leann can tell that the bands run to the frame of the door, terminating in sturdy iron hinges. The sand has piled so high against the door that it might be nearly impossible to close it without a change in weather, or a spell that could blow it away.

(Ashissa, I totally forgot that you're still at exhaustion level 2 until a long rest. Roll all ability / skill checks at a disadvantage and your speed is halfed until then.)
Hadar knows instinctively what this is, even with his minor knowledge the Gods and Demons - these are twisted children of the Demon Kerakys and they are relentless under the cover of Darkness.
--------
A chill touch tickles up Hadar’s spine and as an electric arc jumps from the Taken’s body up along his torso, but Hadar’s iron will and pumping blood shakes the Parasitic attack from his mind. The air seems more breathable for a split second as the demon departs… until the next Possessed body steps through the door.
(Hadar resists the demon Possession)

The Goliath clears his throat and wraps a piece of sheer muslin cloth around his face to keep the sand out of his mouth and eyes. He snaps his right index finger against its thumb and the Mastiff cocks her head with a low whine. His thumb jerks to the South side of the building, where the Librarian sits against the wall, looking a mess. The Mastiff obediently trots over to the Librarian and stands over her protectively, turning just once to give her a huge lick across her face, leaving a cascade of slobber.
With that, the stone-skinned man lets out a thunderous Battle Cry, his muscles bulging and his eyes red with Rage. The Greataxe held before his heaving chest seems to rain a light ash which never finds a resting place, and the cerulean glow along the grip intensifies, sizzling against his skin. He abruptly charges out into the storm, the sand and debris pelting off of his skin like so much light rain.

(OOC: pls forgive me if I forgot to loop something in. Was having trouble remembering what has transpired.)
Hadar growls. "Friggin' demons."
What pains in the asses they are, he thought. No better than their counterparts, both full of self-righteous bullshit. The commander coulda warned him...coulda, shoulda, and didn't. He made a mental note to deal with that asshat when he got back.
Suddenly he shivers from lightening; whatever that was he scoffs at (with a side of smug) after pushing it aside. He then braces for the impact of the bloodied human and finds it lacking.
Events were happening quickly, as Hadar hears a battle cry from behind. Knowing instinctively what was coming, he makes room for his fellow warrior at the door, right before the Goliath rushes past him.
The taken human then recoiled, writhed, came back, and went again. This pissed Hadar off. He hated torture, though he found it occasionally useful. It was just ******* unnecessary.
Speaking to Leann over the wind, "Grab the larger crates!" Let's see if we can barricade the door. I'll take care of the human." With that, Hadar aims his glowing mace at the poor man in front of him. Hadar wants his last moments to be quick, and says, "**** you, Demon. You cannot have him."
To hit with mace = Attack: 23 Damage: 8, includes +2 dmg favored enemy (humanoids)
If the "taken" human is considered undead/fiendish, then extra radiant dmg applies = 7
Please keep in mind:
- Once Hadar designates his advantage attack (Zephyr Strike), his speed will increases to 60 until the end of that turn. - With that spell on (it is), none of his moves provoke attacks of opportunity. - With shield his AC is now 19
Praying while striking (-1 Religion) = 18
If the human goes down, then he'll fling the mace behind him and go for his bow. (Item interaction)
At end of turn, he'd like to perceive what's happening out in the storm (darkvision 90ft) = 12 (bonus action, if possible)

The Taken’s chest still sizzling from Ashissa’s magical attack, it quickly looks back and forth between them. It jumps to the side as the Goliath roars and runs past, its eyes wide. Stumbling for a moment, it quickly recalls the danger at hand and spins back towards its adversaries - too late.
Cursing at the best, Hadar takes the distraction as an opportunity to line up a well placed hit to the human face, his glowing mace shattering its jaw and leaving its tongue hanging ragged. One cheekbone cracks deeply upon impact, leaving the eye above it bulging and seeping dark ochre.
Damage 12 Bashing + Radiant
The blows sends the host body reeling back towards the door, and it bumps into Leann falling back forward on its hands and knees.
Hadar takes this opportunity to squint out into the storm to see if there are any discernible details to be seen… there is nothing but darkness and the clouds of billowing sand. The sand itself seems to defy his investigation, and he finds it clouding and scratching his eyes.

They can all roll to hit the Goliath if you like (3 separate rolls, or make it to the outside of the door to the Hall. This turn, you can roll to possess the Goliath Barbarian, and there are several more people in the tents to the South. You can roll to possess up to 4 outside beings)

Lightning Damage 3
