Corryn, you have only a heartbeat to communicate an order to your familiar before the leading spider scuttles directly toward Fodd, closing more than half the distance between them. Hissing furiously it abruptly rises up on its hind four legs and unleashes a torrent of sticky webbing directly at Fodd. The waves fall in waves but he's able to take them on his upraised shield, preventing the spray from tying him helplessly in place.
Ragnor, from your position hidden in the treeline you witness two of the spiders facing off against Fodd, and Corryn, while another moves directly northward into the treeline. The closer of the two spiders assaulting your companions is less than 30 feet away, with the second closing fast. The flanking spider is more distant, perhaps forty feet and growing. What do you do?
Corryn, two bare down on you and Fodd, who appears momentarily distracted by both his conversation with the treehouse occupant and in disentangling himself from the remnants of the projectile webbing. What do you do?

Corryn's Owl should be able to take Help-Action to grant advantage to Corryn, if I understand the rule correctly? Corryn: [Tooltip Not Found] on leading Spider: Attack: 18 Damage: 14 (1d6+2 Hand Crossbow; +2d6 Sneak Attack).
Seeing an opportunity to strike from the shadows Ragnor quickly builds up speed and attempts to pounce on the spider heading to the trees, swiping with his outstretched claw (18 and 15 to hit (assuming advantage from stealth), 7 damage if it hits. If the hit lands, DC13 strength check or the spider is knocked prone at which point it triggers a bite attack 8 and 21 to hit, 7).
Ragnor, bursting from the cover of the trees you move quickly and silently, flashing past the startled spiders racing toward your friends to leap upon their flanking companion, bearing it to the ground in a flurry of teeth and claw. A hideous keening fills the air as the spider below you thrashes wildly, ichor flowing from the wounds you open on its hideous flesh.
Corryn, your familiar dives out of the sky and bravely descends on the lead spider, wings battering at its many eyes in an attempt to blind and confuse. It rears up in anger, exposing its soft underbelly and you release your quarrel, the bolt streaking out take it in the stomach and punch it backward. The spider doubles over momentarily, keening in agony before settling baleful eyes on you.
With your position thus exposed, you sidle closer to Fodd, using the big lad's bulk and protective stance for cover as he prepares to face down the onrushing arachnids.
Fodd, the nearer of the two spiders is now wounded, a quarrel having punched almost completely through it. Yet, it is still clearly dangerous, hissing and spitting in rage. Its companion is coming on fast, mandibles clicking ominously and poison visibly dripping from its jaws as it barrels directly toward you and Corryn like an oncoming wagon. What do you do?

"Stay back Mr Goldweaver!"Fodd yells, shaking the strands of web from his shield, before raising his rusty shortsword high. "For Truth and Righteousness!" he screams, voice breaking into a squeak, and hurls himself forward at the onrushing spiders. Showing surprising acceleration for such a large boy, he quickly becomes a trundling juggernaut of squeaking metal and wobbling pale fleshes as he charges at the nearest monster, sword thrusting into its maw like a lance a stubby, slightly bent lance.
23 to hit, doing 10 damage on a hit (inc. extra +5 from my Charger feat)
Horrence, still frustrated at the powerlessness he feels about the situation takes a while to register what Ella is saying, after a moment lost I thought, he says:
”Oh, week, yes, um, quite right, quite right. Good day sir and I hope that you will pass on our thoughts to those poor poor families.”
Following Ella, and listening to her thoughts on the matter, he says:
“I understand your point, and clearly you have a better eye for whom to trust that I do, but I worry that if we delay too long then anyone who does live there is likely to be put in future danger. I think this might be up to you and I. Perhaps I can create a distraction that will draw them away from the door?”
he pulls a small screw out of his pocket and says “I think I can probably record a plea for help into this little thing and use it to draw them away. I might even be able to use a bit of jiggery pokery to get myself into the building to see what’s going on- why do you think? I’m happy to wait if you think that’s best, but if somethings going on in there, we surely should try to find out exactly what!”
No sooner had the lead spider managed to right itself, ichor dribbling from its stomach wound, than it was confronted with the horrific vision of a Fodd at full charge. It has barely a moment to react and can do little more than scream a pitching cry before he crashes into it, leading with his shield to batter it a half step back before thrusting with his sword, the full weight of his charge behind the blow. The sword sinks into the beast, tearing aside a gaping wound and leaving it bleeding horrifically, maimed but still in the fight.
Corryn, the final and as yet uninjured spider turns its green, malevolent eyes upon you as it scuttles past where its companion is engaged in mortal combat with Fodd. Unable to quite reach you it hisses in fury, rearing up to spray clinging webbing in your direction. Having seen the trick once before however, you anticipate it and roll nimbly to the left, the webs flying past to utterly envelop the space you were standing in just a heartbeat before ((11 vs your AC of 12)).
Ragnor, the spider beneath you twists under you, lurching to its feat even as it attempts to disembowel you with its fangs in the same motion. You are able to twist your feline body out of the way ((8 vs your AC of 13)), leaping clear of the spider and landing on all four paws facing off against it, just a foot away.
Fodd, the spider facing you attempts to swarm you, snapping at your face with its jaws as it claws at you with multiple limbs. You writhe and twist, shield, sword and armored limbs flailing and manage to deflect the attack ((14 against your 18 AC)), its poisonous saliva sizzling ominously on your armor as it strains to sink its jaws into you without momentary success.
Corryn, Ragnor, Fodd, what do you (and Corryn's familiar) do?

Fodd, seeing the final spider bearing down on Corryn shouts a warning: "Mr Goldweaver, run!". Unable to free himself from this spiders writhing limbs, he instead uses his bonus action to cast Sanctuary on the gnome. "Pick on someone your own size, you eight-legged coward!" he yells, before hacking at the spider in front of him with his trusty blade.

((Okay, given Sanctuary, slightly different turn)): Owl: [Tooltip Not Found] move to Fodd (should be within range) and Help vs. Spider to grant him advantage. Corryn:Disengage, move towards treeline (I should still be close enough to get there within my 25ft of normal movement range) Corryn:Hide Stealth Check: 22
Corryn, feeling the warding of Sanctuary decides to disengage and get into a better position; he runs back towards the treeline and throws himself into the undergrowth in an attempt to hide. At the same time, his owl flies towards the entangled Fodd, intent on harrying the giant spider attacking him.
Father Lumin nods a farewell and turns back to the doors of the tenement. He calls over his shoulder.
If you would seek revenge against the poor, deluded witch who has murdered our children then I cannot stop you. In what seems like the cruelest joke of all she has made her lair in the very treehouse where she and our young-lings once played. Yet, truth be told, I would urge you to just let the matter rest. This community wants only to be left to its grief, and there are doubtless others who would welcome your... intervention.
With that, he disappears from view and the surly guard takes his position across the doors, club now held firmly in hand. His eyes follow you both as you depart, glaring balefully.
At this last, Ella gasps, “Lady of Dreams preserve us, that is where the others are. They could be in danger. Professor, don’t you think that makes our choice for us? Should we not hurry to catch our friends?”
Emboldened by the sight of squirming, Ragnor opens his mouth and attempts to dig his sharp teeth into the spider once more: 21 hit and 8 piercing damage.
Corryn, you send a telepathic command to your familiar which swoops down on the spider engaged with Fodd, attempting to repeat its distraction trick to aid the plucky Paladin in its final destruction. Having dodged the webs, you take off at a dead sprint toward the forest, easily sidestepping the nearest spiders and diving into the undergrowth where a skillful rolling leap followed by several seconds of quiet crawling lays a deceptive trail while hiding you from sight.
Ragnor, determined not to let the monstrous spider regain its balance, you press the attack. Your teeth flash out, darting past a stabbing leg to tear a huge chunk from the spider's flank in a spray of gore and chitinous hide. It rears back, hideously wounded but then snaps out, poison dripping jaws flashing to carve a chunk out of your transformed side ((22 vs your AC of 13)). The bite is agonizing (10 piercing damage), as is the poison which flows like liquid fire into your veins from the bite (9poison damage, DC11 constitution save for half (4)).
Fodd, glancing back you invoke your powers to call forth protection around Corryn. Utilizing your moment of distraction the spider attempts to bite you once more, only for you to turn into it with your shield, sending its face reeling back and opening its already heavy scored underside to a final, killing thrust from your sword. The spider collapses, slain, the green light fading from its eyes even as its ichor flows over your feet in a disgusting deluge.
The final unwounded spider at first scuttles forward after Corryn, but having lost him in the undergrowth turns its gaze on Fond and charges directly at him. Fortunately, even with his sword still momentarily embedded inside the spider's companion, the young man is able to turn in a protective huddle (uncannily resembling the fetal position) and the spider's lashing claws bounce harmlessly off his rusty armor ((8 against your DC of 18)).
Horrence looks momentarily befuddled And disapointed that his cunning plan has been thwarted by Father Lumin’s words. He briefly glances back and forth from Ella to the screw in his hand, before trusting the piece of metal back into one of his many pockets.
“I fear that you are right, if they are walking into danger then we must do all we can to get to them first. Let us hurry.”
