Mars makes intermittent eye contact with the laughing Tanser, the gnome seems similarly incapacitated to Mars as she suffers through almost eight further minutes of horrified paralysis.
As the terrors from her nightmare and from the waking centipedal danger separate and settle like scum in a pond, her heartrate slows and Mars regains control over herself. Mars won't go back to sleep, and will offer to take the next watch shift from the party members who just saved her life.
Daerthe lowers her crossbow and returns it to her hip as she moves to check over the otherss I do not think that this is edible for anything but whatever that is..." She says as she motions to the toad.
With the party ready to move on, two options out of the cave are clear, besides the one the party entered from. Two passageways lead out of this area, one continuing West, while the other leads North. The carrion crawler had come from the West passage.
"Northwest, Darklake is," Shuushar bobs his head. "Unfamiliar with these passages, I am. Lead to Darklake, both could."
Sarith, Derendil, and Buppido appear to be in better condition after the rest. The twins, Topsey and Turvey, are talking with Jimjar about trying to make it to Blingdenstone after making it to the Kuo-toa village. Buppido appears to be having a lively conversation about the wonders of Gracklstugh, a city of the duergar, with Derendil the quaggoth, and stool the myconid sprout. Sarith sits to the corner alone, rubbing his temple with a slight scowl, as though suffering from a headache.
Daerthe will go to the full Drow and raise a brow as she sees the way he is moving his hand. "Did you bit your head during the escape or is dealing with all of them to much for you to deal with at once?" She asks him in elvish.

The old gnome is as quiet and solitary as usual after waking. He avoids making eye contact with anyone as he eats a couple bites. He then walks to the mouths of both passageways to listen and sniff.
Daerthe - "It's...nothing," Sarith glances up at Daerthe, replying in the elvish tongue. "Just migranes ever since I woke up imprisoned. Perhaps there's something to your theory of mind control," the drow sighs. "So we still plan to follow these iblith to the kou-toa village?"
Tanser is unable to find clues in the West passage, save for the carrion crawler's recently laid footprints. While examining the North passage, he hears distant clacking, something hitting on rock before it falls silent once more. The musty smell of the Underdark fills the deep gnome's nostrils, the ancient yet ever new and shifting dark promising the unexpected.
"Unless you have a better idea then it would seem to be the wisest course for us to stay together. I do not relish the idea of attempting to survive in the open Underdark alone." Daerthe yells him as she sits across from him.

"Maybe it's safer that way?" Mars says, as she points down the West passage with a long, shaking arm. "If that animal, the carrion crawler, came from that direction, maybe it already ate everything dangerous, uh, down there? I definitely think we should stick together no matter where we go. Until we can see the sky again."
The old gnome makes some funny hand gestures and carves out two shallow pits in the ground in front of the north tunnel using mold earth. He then walks to the entrance they came through last night and makes a similar gesture, carving out one shallow pit. Joining the others, he explains while still not making eye contact, "I will create three markers here. If we end up back in here later by mistake, we'll know it."
“You’re smarter than you look, old man,” Turvey crosses his arms with a nod. “If you consider making a path for our captors to follow wise,” Sarith sneers.
"I think it's worth it, leaving the trail, if it means we won't get lost down here," Mars says. She joins Tanser in casting mold earth to hopefully keep the pace from slowing too much, moving her hands as if she was digging through the air. Her technique looks much less practiced than that of the old svirfneblin, but her rough, instinctual-seeming movements are effective enough.
"Besides, do you really think they'll be looking for us through all that commotion we left behind?"
"Never underestimate the pride of Ilvara," Sarith crosses his arms. "With your...our capture, by delivering us to Menzoberranzan, she hopes to finally receive a promotion, and to return to the City of Spiders. She won't let that possibility escape her grasp so easily. I wouldn't be surprised if she has sent scouts after us already."
Tuma, having finished retching, will keep pace with the dwarf. "So...uh, pardon me if this comes off rude, but, how did it taste?" She gags again, remembering the smell and that terrible image, but she couldn't deny her curiosity.

When it is clear the creature has been overwhelmed, Tanser lays down and laughs for the next almost four minutes before drifting back to sleep.

Seeing as how Thun, as a giant toad, killed by swallowing it and then digesting it, I'd beg to differ. :)
The toad twists his huge face into a semblance of a smile.
He's clearly very happy with his performance.

The Giant Toad blinks twice, and sits in front of the Western passage. Apparently, it agrees with Mars.

The giant toad hobbles along before morphing back into a dwarf crawling around on all fours. An ungodly expulsion of sound erupts from his throat.
"I'm not supposed to eat things that large. I've told myself a hundred times, but it seemed like the easiest way at the moment."
Shaking, he stands and looks towards the floor holding his stomach. He's keeping pace with the group but clearly in several kinds of pain.
"If you say so." Daerthe says as she moves to talk to the others that are with them. "I think we should keep a watch on Sarith."
