Once everyone signed the legal paper amarondor takes it and looks it over, giving you all a nod of approval.
"Good luck on your mission." He says as he gets to his feet, slipping the contract through a slot in the desk and letting it slip out of sight. At that moment the door opens and Nusas stands there once more. "Nusas, right on time as usual." amarondor says. "They will be traveling to Neverwinter it seems." he says with a smile for her. "Should be fun then." Nusas gives him a nod of acceptance. "If you will follow me, we can get you the items they give out to new franchise people." She turns and pauses long enough for you to all catch up, then heads off down the lavishly decorated hall once more. her walk is slow and steady, with ehr chatting with the group as you go. The walk is a bit longer this time though, going nearly around to the far side of the level. You come to a plain-looking door this time, which she opens to reveal a storage room. Inside is gear that is related to the various positions of a franchise. cartographer tools, horns, calligrapher’s supplies, etc. She looks you each over and starts handing out the items, somehow knowing who should get what. If asked how she knows she will explain that the Secretarian out in the waiting area has a magic sachel that records data about everyone the warforged greeter meets.
Once everyone is equipped with their franchise equipment, she leads you around and back to a door close to where you had your meeting. Opening this door she waves you inside and then closes the door with her inside with you.
"Get a load of this... You are going to like it..." She explains as she moves to the far side of the room and says a command word. Immediatly the wall there forms a door that she reaches out and grasps the handle of, pulling it inward. It opens up into a small room. She steps into the doorway without any hesitation, leading the way through. You all feel a bit of a jolt as you step across, but it passes quickly. The room you step into is a small, but tastefully-appointed chamber with a bed, desk,a nd a few other odds and ends, the furniture cdlearly bolted to the floor. You get the sensation of not being on firm ground, as the room moves as if floating.
"Welcome to your headquarters." Nusas says as the door behind you simply disappears, leaving no sign of its existance. "She is the Bold Tide." Nusas says with a grin. "It's a War Balloon, so we are indeed flying, but we should still be tethered to the ground, since the ship was being outfitted in Neverwinter last I had heard." After letting that sink in she nods to the door. "You will find quarters in the hallway outside my room to take as you wish. Down at the end is a conference room, let's meet there in one hour..."
**********
You can look at the War Balloon stats as you wish, the ship itself is a War Ship, but you can make the details of the rooms whatever works for your characters.
Shieldbiter nods his approval and then exits the room in seek of a room that would fit his size and station.
To the group he says, "I'll see you in an hour, I definitely want to get a good look at this ship....wait," popping his head back in the door, to Nusas, "Did you say 'being outfitted in Neverwinter?' Are we now in the ship in Neverwinter, or did I misunderstand you?"
"We are on board the ship in Neverwinter." Nusas says with a smile and soft chuckle. "Head Office has a lot of perks... Just remember, if you get a chance to work out of there though, they also have a lot of oversight..." She glances around the small chamber. "Being away from there is often worth giving up all of those perks."
Ethan sholders his pack, working to keep his balance as the ship moves under him. He grits his teeth as he gives the group a nod. "I will get settled in a room, then take a look around as well." He informs the group. "With your permission..." He glances to Nusas, who nods to him as he leaves. He stops at the room next to Nusas and finds a smaller room than hers was, with just a cot, a small desk, and a porthole in the window. After tossing his pack on the bed, he glances out the window, taking in the distance to the ground below, where the city of Neverwinter sprawls out under the ship.
The black-furred tabaxi named Opal Fire slides over to a porthole to look out, curious as usual. It's clear the movement of the ship doesn't give the creature any trouble; he's so light on his feet. He adjusts the dark cloak clasped at his neck, making sure his many weapons and the large pack on his back are all still in order before exiting the room. He speaks to no one and makes no eye contact before exiting.
Opal finds an empty room, seeking some comfort, but not needing much. The room contains a bed and the door locks, and that's what matters. He closes and locks the door, then moves to the bed and removes the cloak and pack. He lays out the new cartographer's tools and immediately begins fiddling and working with each in an effort to become as familiar with them as quickly as possible.
(Is there a way to add the franchise stuff in beyond?)
Cas sets up his Alchemy and poisoner kits in his room, and hangs up his disguises in his closet, before stepping back outside and locking the door. He then explores the ship, finding where everything is, and trying to notice hidden details
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
So far this session I have hit my teammates twice, flat-out missed 3 times, and only hit the enemy twice. Trust me, you don't want to borrow my dice.
As everyone gathers in the conference room Ethan is already there and waiting. He has his Whisper Jar on the table in front of him, talking softly into it as he records his thoughts so far.
Nusas comes in while everyone is entering still. She gives everyone a friendly nod in greeting. She has a worn leather satchel she is carrying with her. At her side is a woman wearing clothes befiting a smuggler or pirate. She is clearly sizing up the group as she takes a seat next to Nusas. She has an orinate gemstone on a thong around her neck, looking out of place with the rest of her gear. She wears studded leather armor, a surcoat, and has a rapier at her hip.
"Ok, I see everyone is here." Nusas says once everyone is there. She has a very casual manner, not at all what you expect out of someone in charge. "This is Salty Hook." Nusas introduces the woman sitting next to her. "She is your franchise's Secretarian, and also the captain of the Bold Tide." "Only thing ye got ta know bout me is ye be in charge of where we go, but I be in charge of how we get there... Keep that in mind and we'll be fine." The woman says, glancing around the group. "We have a contract I am suppose to go over with you." Nusas says as she pulls a folder out of her satchel, noting that Salty Hook is done talking already. She relates the below in a casual manner.
Who: Lord Mirt What: Seek out the ancient ruined city of Tamoachan and learn its secrets. Note: Somewhere within or beneath the ruins, is a hidden shrine said to be dedicated to Zotzilaha, the vampire god of the underworld. Payment: A favor from Mirt, suspected as one of the Secret Lords of Waterdeep.
Nusas shrugs as she puts the folder away again. "Not overly surprising, Lord Mirt offers a favor, but no real coin..." She chuckled as she glances around the group. "Salty will go over the itinerary, then you may ask whatever questions you have." She nods to Salty Hook then. Salty Hook sighs and pulls a map case out from in a cabinet on the wall near her seat. She then pulls a map out of the case and spreads it out on the table. It is a map that shows the Sea of Swords, from Neverwinter, down to Waterdeep, and across the sea to a cluster of Islands marked as Maztica. "The path be direct." She explains as she traces a line from Neverwinter, across the sea, and at an angle downward towards Maztica. "Gonna take a good tend-day, barring weather, or longer since there be sure ta be some weather going across da sea." She lets everyone have a look at the map. "We be nearly finished outfittin fer da trip, so we be leavin at dawn tomorrow." She informs you as she rolls it back up. Glancing at Nusas then, she sighs and hands the map, now back in the case, out to the group's Cartographer.
"Well i cant wait to hear about those perks and oversights, we should talk more. Although, i also understand being away from the boss. While the cat is away...." and Shieldbiter backs out of the door with a smirk on his face.

"So what type of favor are we talking about here? I mean to learn 'all the secrets' of this Tamoachan for only a simple favor? Do we at least get to keep any of the items we may come across as we search for 'secrets?' Who is this Lord Mirt anyways?"
"Anything we find is the property of our franchise." Nusas says with a nod of understanding. "Lord Mirt is a well-known adventurer that escaped from Undermountain a few centuries back. He lives in Waterdeep and is believed to be one of the Secret Lords of the city there. A favor from him is no little thing."
"Ok, that sounds like it may pan out in the end. I can work with this," Shieldbiter says as he removes a flask from his belt and takes a swig. "So what do we need to do in the meantime as we are still waiting to leave and traveling there? Does the Company already have a plan of action, or is it all us once boots are on the ground?"
Larry is mostly ignoring the others, and playing with his new abacus, moving the little skulls back and forth, back and forth. Smiling. A strange tick to his eye.
Sinsil has been taking passive notes while looking at each speaker. She then tucks her parchment away. "I don't know why I needed to be here. WHEN you need me, I will be studying in my quarters." She then picks up her things and heads out. (Doing the purchasing and scribing spells here and along the journey.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After a day of looking over the flying ship, and seeing cargo being loaded into the hold, the group turns in for the night. Those up early the next morning would see the ship's crew preparing for departure, the others wouldn't notice they were moving until they woke with the ship already on the move.
I am going to roll for hazards and encounters here:

[Since we're all at level 5, shouldn't we be a level 2 franchise?]
So far this session I have hit my teammates twice, flat-out missed 3 times, and only hit the enemy twice. Trust me, you don't want to borrow my dice.
Yes you are a level 2 franchise. You can add the level 2 stuff to your character sheet. Is something here spurring the question?
Just since you had said to add the level 1 stuff, I just wanted to check that I add Lv. 2 as well

"Hm, interesting. I like the sound of this. Do we know if anybody else is looking for thiis at the same time as we are?"\
[Side note, since we get henchmen, can at least 1 of them be from the Thieves Guild that my character is the leader of?]
