Nusas and Salty Hook both concur with the vote, putting their votes in to do the fly-over as well. Ethan shrugs and says "Can't hurt..." He puts his vote in with the others.
Salty Hook then has the ship do several passes over the ruins, but you see only normal wildlife for the area and nothing that looks threatening. The ship cannot get low enough to the ground for casting Detect Good and Evil though, due to trees and buildings.
After a good night's sleep the group climbs down a ladder from the ship and gather on the ground a bit back from the largest pyramid. Moving carefully you then start towards the building.
As you head toward the pyramid temple, you tread across cracked and overgrown flagstones, stepping over fallen and shattered pillars, pushing aside vines and briars.
When you are nearly at the temple, the sound of creatures crashing through the underbrush comes from behind you. You turn around to see people moving through the woods toward the clearing around the pyramid.
Then, suddenly, the earth shudders and gapes open beneath your feet and you are falling amid the roar of collapsing masonry. Dust fills the air and the sunlight disappears as the darkness swallows you.
Anyone with Darkvision... The room you come into is...
You are in a long, narrow chamber, running east-west. In the center of this apartment is a domed shape on the floor. In the east wall is a blank-faced stone door. The west end of the room is blocked by fallen stone and rubble, apparently the result of a collapse. The two side walls appear to have several niches cut into them.
An amber colored mist seems to fill the area, more thickly up at the ceiling than at the floor.
Ethan will cough as he inhales the dust and amber gas. He then will cast Darkvision on himself. Looking around he spots the amber gas and tries to see if he can tell anything about it...
Shieldbiter draws his sword in one hand and has his shield in the other. He checks in on the rest of the group quickly and then has a look around for anything of danger in the room to tracks if anyone or thing has been here recently.

Shieldbiter doesn't notice anything other than what I posted to start things off. (Wow got to do better on those rolls...)
Sinsil will enter last and, with her veil covering her face, do a bit of a snooty once over of the room while she casts gust to clear the gas as much be as she can.
(Gust is a cantrip so it's fine.) "How bothersome, are any of you useful and have tools to get us out of here?" She says in the haughty indignant tone of the overly privileged.
"Isn't this where we wanted to be?" Ethan asks with a raised eyebrow. "Maybe not like this, but looks to me like the way forward is through the door over there, and we have already made a good start at getting into the place..."
Sinsil pulls out her coin and flips it. Catching it midair and slapping it to the back if her hand. It displays the Acquisitions Inc. logo. "Fine, we'll do it your way... For now."
A cave-in completely blocks the west end of the chamber. At short intervals, small amounts of rubble and dirt come spilling into the room. Several large stones appear to have wedged themselves tightly, closing the collapse.
Sorry, it does that if I forget to paste into notepad first...

Shieldbiter will then end his night with a good meal, sharpening his gear, and a full rest.

"The gas looks harmless enough..." Ethan says as he studies it. "A bit irritating though..." He rubs the redness from around his eyes as he speaks.

If allowed that roll will be.

Yeah it's really starting to bug me. Even with a +4 I roll crap!
There is no place for the gas to go, so the spell would not work in here. I will let you not to have had to cast it.
Investigating you find the following...
The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan - a3 - Tales from the Yawning Portal - Sources - D&D Beyond

say what?
(Is Cas with them?)
So far this session I have hit my teammates twice, flat-out missed 3 times, and only hit the enemy twice. Trust me, you don't want to borrow my dice.
"Well, are we ready to move forward then? Or does someone want to take a moment to gather their thoughts before we head forward?"
Sorry, it does that if I forget to paste into notepad first...

Yes, all of the group is here. At least the main player characters. All NPCs are still aboard ship.
