Looking around the tavern, there are a handful of open tables that are still takable. There are no fireplaces, given this location is made of wood and the air is warm even at evening. There appear to be several people armed with curved knives, khukris, and other small weapons, though the folk here are not armoured in the manner one would expect from guards. Upon reaching the bar, the goliath lowers his head, the top of his bald head lightly brushed by the smoke. There is no evidence of other refugees making it to this bar as of yet.
"A round will set you back 3 silver." The goliath informs Tvon'ii. "Though if you're after the house specials, they'd be a silver a glass." His tone is somewhat welcoming, but his facial expression seems almost fixed in the grim stone-cold stare he had then the group arrived. "Though houserules are anything bigger than a short sword is put in the weapons locker." He nods to the longsword.
"This thing? I'm no good with it anyway, and we're not here to start trouble."With practiced ease, the Elf unbuckles his sword belt and wraps the sheath and blade to make it easy to hand over. Consequentially it makes the sword very difficult to draw, never a great practice to be slain by ones own sword. Tvon'ii palms a gold piece and leaves it with the sword, "Four glasses of the special and two rounds to follow."
He takes a moment to look back at the assembled group and gestures to an open table nearby. "If you'll pardon me for a moment." Tvon'ii says to the Goliath as he slips back the cover on his wrist and whispers a message to Korvek "We don't want to make trouble, you're going to have to check the axe. My familiar will be watching over it for thieves."
Tvon'ii turns back to the barkeep and adds a few silver, "Do you happen to have coffee imported to these parts? I'd be very interested in a cup, and any news on this side of the pond. We've been at sea a good while, it would be nice to know something outside the hull of a galley ship for a change!"
"Won't start any if I can't help it." Korvek responds to the message. Korvek takes his axe by the neck and hands it over. He makes a gesture to his horns, "Ain't bigger than a shortsword so these are fine, right?" He says sarcastically. Korvek joins the group at their table, mostly eyeing the tanned elf and looking at the other patrons. "...Maybe Smokey ain't at his place yet, thought he'd be here first...I'm going to ask the bard about things round here."
Ace kept a hand rested on his weapons, shaking his head softly "Well, luckily these both fit the size requirement and I would prefer not to let them out of my sight. People who are ignorant to their workings could very easily get themselves or others killed." Taking a seat at the open table, simply looking around and enjoying the new sights and architecture, his metallic beard clinking against his chest as he adjusts a bit within the seat.
"I'd prefer to keep my weapons as long as I'm able," Tahia agrees. "Though I'd prefer to see no fighting, either." She sits across from Ace, so that the side of her body she kept her rapier on was against the wall, blocking the weapon from an easy draw as sign that she had no intent to use it. Of course, she also had her dagger beneath her cloak on the other side, but everyone and their child had a dagger, so that hardly counted.
"We aren't planning on any trouble unless you bring it, stranger." The goliath tells Tahia, bringing up a long wooden box from beneath the counter to place the items in. A sturdy iron padlock is on its front as the goliath barkeep unlocks it with a key from around his neck, showing other longswords, spears, and other larger weapons already stowed within. "As for coffee, you probably don't realise that your lands import it from here." He says, his tone more jovial again, but his face still sullen.
"Hey, Stonejaw!" One of the patrons calls. "We need six Blitzer shots!" The man's friends cheering for the announcement of the next round. The goliath sighs, finishing off the party's order first before moving to sort out the next customers.
Taking a seat, the group finds that those around the tavern are enjoying themselves, the odd glance headed over their way, but none that seem threatening. Perhaps the island's inhabitants aren't fussed by the weary travellers that have joined them.
(Does Gnoll have any plans for the evening apart from spying on their housemates?
I will spy on them for 90 min before i return to my normal form (or if the three leave the room (i doubt the elfs will go to sleep)). I would guess the rest of the group is gone for 30 to 60 minutes by now.
The Wizard leans in a bit close, "Can...I get a cup of coffee please?" the edge of his voice is tense. It had been more than a month since he'd had coffee. He slides a silver across the table and turns to walk back to the table hoping the request will be filled. By the time he's gotten to the table, the general tavern mood has washed away some of his anxiousness.
Tvon'ii sits and surveys the group before him. "I don't know about you lot but sitting and waiting isn't going to suit me. We're back on land now, that's more stability than I need to start figuring a plan." He nods assuming everyone is already on board. After a moment he looks around, "A plan to get back...take back our home. Right?"It is the first time that the elf has had time to think of a bigger picture and he was going to take it.
Gnoll watches the trio for another hour or so. He finds out that the young half-elf man is quite anxious and worried about a lot of things, including the rest of those living there not liking them. The two elves tell him to rest up, so he removes his shirt, trousers, and boots and goes to bed. The two elves turn to one another, speaking in elven (Gnoll doesn't understand their words, but a DC 13 Wisdom (Insight) check might help work out what they are talking about based on inflections etc.) as they decide to leave the room, closing the door and snuffing the candle as they leave.
"We'll get you a coffee brought over, it's only two copper." The goliath says in a friendly tone, but still with that solemn look. "I'm assuming you're going to that table with your friends."
After a few minutes a young goliath boy, around five and a half feet tall and with a similar expression to the barkeep, brings over a pot of piping hot black wake-up water (also known as coffee). "Oh? Are you some of those ref-er-jeese?" He asks curiously. "The mayor said that they'd be here any day, father helped make some of the houses in the area where we moved out of so you can live there! He says I'm too small to do that yet..."
There is a cheer as the group near the bar down there shots, then a near-deafening belch comes from each of them, seemingly as if enhanced somehow.

Once the two adults exit the room, Gnoll will take his leave too. Once outside he will make sure noone is watching before turning back to his Goblin self.
After that he tries to find the rest of his merry crew of misfits, how hard could it be to find a Minotaurus, a Laxodon, a warforged and a walking steampunk dog... (investigation 20)
Gnoll recalls the group mentioning heading towards a tavern, so heading that way shouldn't be too difficult to find them. As he leaves the house, he sees another group of refugees being rehomed further down the street, the grumpy looking gnome barking his spiel at the group. Gnoll notes that Smokey is in that group, alongside nine others that Gnoll didn't really interact with on the ship's journey.
At the mention of the future Trumann's large ears flick back and forth rather quickly, and he stares down at the table. He looks up through his ears in the direction of Tvon'ii. " I may have a place to start, My Queen, came to me in a dream, and told me that somewhere on this island is an artifact that will help against those green monsters, something that will lay their` souls to rest." He harumphs loudly the thought of all of those souls trapped. "Its just so unfair, the evil done there, those poor lost souls unable to rest..."
As he continues to talk the volume of his voice goes from a rumbling whisper to a low grumble too and angry bellow before he catches himself.
Now embarrassed, he mummers apologies through his ears hiding his face. "My mother may be able aid in a search, she may know more...
Gnoll can head over to their house. Smokey recognises the goblin as he approached. "Oh, Gnoll! Hey!" He says brightly, though he looks ready to collapse into a bed after a long day of working followed by all the excitement of the evening. "I guess you guys have already settled in? Hah, guess you're all pretty quick at adapting to stuff."
The goliath shakes his head. "Just a nickname, that." He informs Mord. "See, my jaw's a little stiff, it's hard to express outwards." He taps his jaw. "As for temples, well there isn't really temples per say, but you can find shrines just north up the green pass." The goliath points towards one of the nearby tall hills. "Shrines were built to the pantheon up that way, somewhere where there's no risk of flooding. Well, save that of any storm gods who prefer the tide."
Tvon'ii sips long at his drink, the warm bitter fluid soothing over him. His lips curl into a smile. With a shot his eyes are open again looking at Trumann, "An artifact? A dream? I know we don't have a lot to go on but...can you substantiate your claim any? Err, can you prove it?"
Trying the coffee, there is something about it... Something of a better quality than the coffee found overshores. Perhaps the barkeep is telling the truth, that the origins of the plant comes from here, and they have the best blends.
Ace had been simply watching the exchanges between his companions and the others, his metallic beard softly clinking as he looks back and forth between those who spoke. After Stonejaw answered a question, Ace raised a hand softly "Greetings, I am Ace. May I ask if you might be able to point me to a decent place to either purchase metals or other materials for crafting normally used for smithing? I know the markets may be closed for tonight but so long as I am here it would be good to know so I might continue my craft." Trying to remember to emulate manners as he had been taught rather than going directly to what he actually cared about.
