"I don't know what it is but there's something evil going on. Bad omens, definitely bad. Keep on your guard and lets follow closely." Hond says, letting go of Damn and looking in the direction the two tabaxi are being led.
Perception to see any dangers on the path or creatures lurking: 17
Morton struggles, but cannot detain Hymnal. The goblin can do nothing but watch helplessly as his friend and the lights disappear into the forest, lost in the pounding rain.
As soon as he can no longer see the lights, Damn snaps out of his trance, feeling like he has just woken up from a vivid dream.
Once Damn comes back to his senses Hond will say to him and Morton "The lights are lanterns carried on the backs of squat, toad-like creatures. We've gotta catch back up to Hymnal before they lead him away for good. C'mon!" Hond will head deeper into the forest, trying to get to Hymnal.
Morton shakes off the mud after feebly being shaken off his attempt to stop his companion. Trying to figure out where hymnal went in the sheets of rain.
Damn manages to pick up the trail, and you follow it for several minutes until you emerge in a small clearing in the forest. Hymnal stands on a cobblestone path which leads to a thatched cottage, looking around him in sleepy confusion. Neither the humanoid toads nor the lanterns they carried are anywhere to be seen. The rain has stopped, though you do not recall noticing the transition, and the forest is eerily quiet. The cottage stands silhouetted in the light of the pale moon, to all appearances abandoned.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Damn looks around suspiciously, points quietly at Hond and then again at Hymnal and tries to disappear in to the shadows and approach the cottage silently.
Smiling at Damn, Hond grabs the edge of his chainmail and gives it a slight shake. The metal rings clink together softly. Hond whispers, "Good idea. I couldn't sneak to save my life. I'll stay and watch over Hymnal. Yowl if anything grabs your tail!"
Hond re-opens his senses to the presence of evil, using Divine Sense.

"We're never going to stop them both." Hond grunts out. "Whatever this is has got them good."
Hond opens his senses to the presence of evil and uses Divine Sense to see if there are any celestials, fiends, or undead nearby.
Hond senses no undead, fiends, or celestials, but the chill that settles over his heart confirms that there is dark magic at work here.
(Totally read that wrong, meant Hymnal. My bad... changed the post)

Hond sees that the sources of the lights are small lanterns, borne on the backs of squat toad-like creatures.

(At this point Hymnal is fully entranced)
Anyone may roll a Survival check to track Hymnal.
