Gaerich drops his javelin and roars as he leaps across to the other boat, drawing his sword in mid air. He lands on the other deck and attacks the closest pirate. As he RECKLESSLY swings his battle axe a ghostly nimbus bursts around the blade Attack: 23 Damage: 15 He follows that up with a swing with his longsword Attack: 19 Damage: 9
Gaerich storms into the heat of the battle and using the rail of The Persistent launches off into the air, flying over the fifteen feet of ocean water between the ships, twirls in midair and then lands in a kneeling position on the deck of the ghost pirate ship. Gaerich then erupts from his crouch and quickly rushes forward, battle-axe and longsword in hand ((we'll have to figure out how he can wield a longsword and battle-axe in both hands...)) and charges at the four figures near the railing of the ghost ship. They all turn to him, scimitars and hand axes ready, and Gaerich swings with his longsword swiping away and deflecting a ghost pirate's scimitar as it cuts towards him and then swinging his battle-axe Gaerich slams down into the ghost pirate's shoulder, cleaving into its humanoid-like body in half, and it falls to the ground. Before the cleaved ghost pirate can even fall Gaerich is already lurching forward with his longsword, swinging at the closest ghost pirate, and slicing with his longword manages to cut through its midriff, and splitting in half its sun tanned skin. It's upper torso then slowly slips off its lower body and drops onto the deck with a thud.
Gaerich, with two dead foes at his feet, stands ready as the other two ghost pirates, one that is pale with an abnormal slobbering snout for a face and wielding a short battle-ax and a short sword, the other with a sun-tanned skin bald and juggles a pair of daggers. They move to surround him
((Maggie, looking across from where you are standing near the rails on The Persistent is the ghost pirate ship which is fifteen feet away from The Persistent and you see two ghost pirates surrounding Gaerich. Three have been slain so far, one from Cyrus's eldritch blast and two from Gaeritch's jumping into the fray of combat and killing two. You don't know the grouping of the remaining two as far as their attacking initiative goes. They look odd, but lean towards the human side, but clearly they have been corrupted by something over time.))
Cyrus grins savagely as Gaerich fells two of the pirates. His eyes focus as he chants once more, and a spectral tentacle emerges out of the mist attached to the side of the pirate's ship. Accompanied by another eldritch blast from Cyrus, the tentacle lashes out at one of the pirates near the human barbarian.

Gaerich swings his battle-axe and longsword at the two ghost pirates, keeping them away from him. The two ghost pirates keep inching closer, their blades just barely missing Gaerich. The bald one with the dagger tries to go in and stab under Gaerich's armpit, but Gaerich quickly parries the blow away, however leaving him open for the ghost pirate with the abnormal slobbering mouth to strike with his scimitar and as he goes to strike Gaerich all of a sudden the ghost pirate is lifted up from the ship's deck and hauled into the air by a menacing tentacle. The tentacle dangles the ghost pirate, dropping its scimitar, and then neon blasts erupt from the rails of The Persistent striking and killing the pirate ghost. Gaerich turns quickly and sees Cyrus standing at the rail with whisps of neon glow evaporating from his body like steam. They give each other a thumbs up.

Can you give a brief description of the pirates? How many are there? Why is it two groups? Are they all human?

Cyrus is up
Next is Gimble
((awesome! Gaerich is a variant human with the dual wielder feat, that's why he can wield two weapons that aren't light.))

Gimble is up
Gimble moves to the side of the ship and sees the remaining pirate. With only one pirate remaining, Gimble decides to throw a dart at the target.
Attack: 6 Damage: 5
Gimble rushes up to the railing and aiming through the green fog throws her dart. It sails through over the fifteen feet gap but ends up hitting the rail of the ghost ship.
The baldheaded pirate parries with Gaeirch as the two exchange blows. During their dance the baldheaded pirate quickly moves into to strike with both his daggers at Gaeirch:
Dagger #1: Attack: 3 Damage: 1
Dagger #2: Attack: 17 Damage: 1
And Gaerich is able to smack the first blade away from him, but the baldheaded pirate was able to scratch Gaeirch's arms with his dagger, dealing one point of damage.
Maggie is up then Clavorus.
The ship is 15ft away. Would I be able to jump to it?
((Yeah. Gaerich leaped off the rails and jumped on the ship))
Gaerich looks at the wound on his arm and begins a low growling laugh that doesn’t reach his eyes which maintain a predatory ferocity.
Maggie jumps aboard the pirate ship as well, rolling safely and attacking the pirate that managed to hit Gaerich.
Attack: 6 Damage: 5
She follows up with a second swift slash from her dagger (two-weapon fighting bonus action)
Attack: 15 Damage: 4
