Maggie thinks this sailor is hitting on her, and stands up to rejoin the group. “No luck for me. All I know is that that symbol is for some trading guild Mr. Barby here worked with.”
Salty puts down the mug he was drying and ponders Cyrus’s question. “I remember Rory telling me how the locals described the black pearl as looking into the depths of pure emptiness. The pearl would sell for hundreds of thousands of gold. Enough for all us to retire for ten life times. And the monsters. Creatures your grandmother couldn’t never even imagine up to scare you from being a bad child. With fangs as long as longsword and jaws the strength of hill giants. No, these creatures would tear any man limb to limb in one go. Cold blooded is what he said.”
((I apologize for not being on yesterday. I don't think Gimble would have done much anyways.))
Gimble gleans some snacks from what is left at the table while listening to the conversations in the bar. "Hey Clavorus, sounds like we will need to either find a ship or start a crew."
Glancing at Gimble , Clavorus says "Oh yes, that sounds like the direction we are moving in. I think Cyrus has mentioned being a sailor from time to time... I'm sure he'd have a lot of knowledge of forming up a crew or finding a ship for us. "
Maggie listens to Clavorus, Gimble, and Cyrus with curiosity. “Sounds pretty interesting. It would be pretty fun to go to a mysterious island. I’m in. So.” She sits back down at her seat, downs the rest of her mead, and puts her feet up on the now-empty seat Gaerich was using earlier. “What’s the plan?”
"Well, Gimble and I were discussing how we'd need to purchase passage to the Misty Archipelago on a vessel of some sort. Probably make our way to the docks here, and then make contact with a captain. Perhaps that crew over there that you were talking with before might know of a ship that's taking passengers, or is going southwards themselves. Unless one of us owns a boat that I wasn't aware of. In which case, I'd much prefer that. But, I definitely am interested in getting to this Island... "
As Maggie gets up from the table her young "amour" Aldous watches her leave and then turns to his half-elf friend and says, "was it something I said?" Rory, shakes the dice in his right hand and answers, "it's not what you said, it's the breath that carries it forward. You could kill an entire village with that. I keep telling you to lay off the shit stew!" He and the squared-jaw bald fella chuckle. Aldous, embarrassed by his breath, blushes and then breathes into his own cupped hands, digs his nose in and smells. "I don't smell a nuttin'," he says. As Rory rolls his dice he says, "that's because you've been living with the stank for so long." Rory and the squared-jaw bald fella laugh some more and then look at Gaerich, inviting him in on the joke.
Salty dries his hands on his stained apron and tells Cyrus, "Aye, there a few ships that would maybe take ya. I also know Martel who runs the Vereenigde Oost-Faerun Companie post out here is always looking for good men to find new trade routes. I doubt any captain or merchant would let you 'borrow' their ship to go to a mysterious island, though there are a ton of dolts out there who might be convinced. And if you got the coin you could always buy yourself a ship, but then you gotta figure ya need a crew and supplies. Then you'll be like Rory spinning tales trying to convince lads to go to a mysterious island with monsters and such." Salty chuckles to himself. "But you all seem like smart lads. If you really want something then don't let anything get in yer way, even the Gods. My pa used to tell me that."
Cyrus nods, scratching his chin. "Doubt we have that kinda coin," he chuckles, "though I am the persuasive sort. Salty, you've given this fellow plenty to chew on. I'll take your leave," looking back over his shoulder with a wink, "til the next round at least."
Cyrus returns to the party. "So fellows, seems we're on the shores of a new adventure," he says charmingly. "Treasures and flesh never few, aye? The question is, how do we get there? I might be able to commission us as shiphands, but who knows who'll willingly set sail for the dread isle."

Gimble gets up standing on the chair and stretches. "Well, if this is one of the last days in town, I want to do a little sight seeing before we leave. I heard they have one of the largest alchemist's shops around. I gotta see that. Plus, I heard they hunt huge fish, I gotta see one of those too. It's late enough now that we should go tomorrow, but does anyone else want to go? I am sure we could hear about some ships while we are out and about." Gimble begins to look eagerly at Maggie. ((She will only be going to look for stuff for tinker supplies. Also, she will probably look for clothes and accessories.))
The bald one reaches out his hand to Gaerich, "the names Puku," he says. "And you met Aldous and Rory," he says pointing to the half-elf and the young lad and then he points to the fella with all the money, "and this here champ is Felix." Puku takes a shot of whiskey and chases it with his mug of ale. "This outfit? You mean you want to give up the warmth of a fire, fresh food that, and body of a woman in yer bed? Well then, it's simple, just be dumb enough like we were and put your X on the dotted line," the table erupts into laughter of the bad joke.
Gimble you know there is the famous Pestle & Mortar run by a Gnome name Azoth Mylius. As far as clothes go, there is the bazaar in the market square where one can come across some exotic clothing for a fair price as well as some cheap common clothes before they are sent north and their prices marked up.
Maggie meets Gimble’s eager gaze with a smile. “Sure. If we can arrange a ship to this Isle and we have some time on our hands, it wouldn’t hurt to take a break and indulge ourselves a bit. Am I right or am I right?”
Gimble giggles and claps a little, "Your absolutely right!"
Then, Gimble looks at Clavorus, Maggie and Cyrus, "Do any of you have a method to communicate if we separate? I'm thinking, if not, Maggie and I will do some sight seeing and you boys start looking for a ship. We will keep an ear open for an ships heading out. Then, we can meet up at high sun here and discuss our next steps. Do think this will work or should we wait for Gaerich to lose enough of his gold to quit? Maybe he has worked something out with his new friends."
Clavorus speaks up, getting his items together as he speaks.. "Gimble, the talking thing I do only has a limited range, probably I could talk to you if you were next door, but that's about the extent of it. I think we could look for a ship, and meeting here at high sun sounds like a smart thing to do. We will wait for Gaerich , if you'd like to head out. Cyrus, if you'd like to see that map again, I can definitely let you see it. Just let me know, I know you are more familiar with ocean travel than I am. Perhaps you can glean something I may have missed? Did Salty have anything of import to tell you?"
((Based on the introduction it is evening)) Gimble lets out a small yawn, “With that I think I shall call it a night. I shall see you on the morn.” She jumps down from the chair and starts to head toward her room.
((sorry everyone, my sense of timing is shit. lol)) "Right, right... why would anyone head out to shop in the middle of the night?! I think the ale hit me harder than I realized, perhaps a good nights' rest would do me good as well" And with that, Clavorus heads up to his room as well, taking his things with him.
Gaerich looks back to see his people starting to leave. “Felix? You’re a lucky one. Looks like it’s time for me to go. If I decide I don’t like fresh food on my plate and warm women in my bed, where do I go to put my X on the line?” Gaerich will wait for his answer, thank the sailors, and then take his leave, joining back up to confer with his friends.

I love tales and rumors, facts can be so misleading. What narrative weave did Barbarosa spin you of this pearl and these giant creatures?

Gaerich laughs at the bald one’s joke. And says in what he hopes is a good natured fashion “What does it take to join up with this outfit?”
Gimble gets up standing on the chair and stretches. "Well, if this is one of the last days in town, I want to do a little sight seeing before we leave.
