Ignatia smirks at the interplay between the two very different women, " I'll leave my coin til we return.....no point good gold going to waste in a corpses pocket."
" I'm already packed and ready but I could do some window shopping....so any of you lot dealt with curses, hauntings, possessions or the like before?"
She waves a hand toward Renny, " Come on! I changed my mind, sugar plum. Your gonna be Firebug, not Ingenue. Hurry up."
Hilvira heads to the blacksmith with the rest of the party not far behind. (If Renny is not going, just let me know). The half-orc kicks the door in, which immediately startles the blacksmith.
Hilvira, you see a very stout female dwarf, built like a Sherman tank, come out from around the storefront, with her two seemingly custom small warhammers at the ready. She walks over to you and looks waaaay up at you with a glare and bellows out with an oddly deep and loud voice "HEY!!! MIND YOURSELF, ORC, OR YOU'LL FIND YOURSELF WORSE OFF THEN THE POOR ****S IN THAT HOUSE!"
*the others likely come in*
"Ahem.... Greetings! Name's Lucy... by the looks of ye all I'm assumin' you're here for the house. Well, what is it you need?"
Lucy the Blacksmith new that David had hired some new folk to deal with the house, and she knew one of them was a Half-Orc, so she was prepared for this kind of behavior.
For ALL:
If anyone wants to talk to Lucy, or each other, please do so. Otherwise, here's the wares Lucy has for sale. She has a lot of stock simply because no one is around anymore to buy from her, but since this is only a village, she won't have the best equipment available. Please shop as you please, add the equipment and remove the coin from your sheet and let me know what you buy etc.
When the half-orc just kinda brushes away, Renny is left standing there with her mouth open just a bit.. Ignatia snaps her out of it, "Firebug?" but she grabs money and follows.

"No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow" "No power in the 'verse can stop me"
Lucy goes to the back and returns a few moments later with a battle axe with a wolf carved out of the face of the axe, and a standard wooden shield, ribbed with steel. She smiles and gives them both to Karlina, and takes the 20 gp. "Here you go, Ma'am. I am sure you'll find these to your likin'. I wish you all the luck against whatever the hell is in that house."
Lucy, to Renny: "Yes m'lady... I was keeping this last vial stored away as a last resort. Sold the rest to the local priest a few weeks back when he tried going into the house. He never came back."
"It'll be 25 gold coins... if you can spare it, that is."
Lucy grabs the vial of holy water from under the counter and gives it to Renny once she pays.
Lucy gives a warm genuine smile to Ignatia, Renny and Karlina. "I'll tell ye, David's sent many different groups of men into this house with no success..... don't let that scare ye. 'Bout time he chose some women who can do the job. I'd come with y'all but I just learned my momma is sick, and I was just keepin' the shop open up here until you folk arrived. Need to head back home at sunset tonight to be with her."
She looks sad, then she starts closing up the shop, and then scowls at Hilvira "Unless SHE needs something?"
Lucy bids you all farewell as you make your way to the house that you’ve all been hired to investigate.
It’s sunset, but the sky is clear so your surroundings are still quite bright with that eerie thick bright orange light that sunsets sometimes make.
You head up to the north east corner of the village, and from the moment you reach the pathway to the house, you feel something is off. Something just feels… different. A few steps up the pathway, you all take a glance at the house:
… but don’t get any details other than that quick image in your mind, because your attention quickly turns to the middle of the pathway where you hear a soft whimpering sound and notice two smaller people, with their backs toward you, facing the house.
What do you do?
For EVERYONE:
I’m sure you are all aware, but if you are going to be making any type of action that you know will require a skill check roll (ie. a perception check when entering a room), please go ahead and make the roll with your post. This way I will have it if I need it and can discard if not needed, to save us time. If a skill check is required and you didn’t make the roll, I’ll let you know to make the roll. If you made the roll but with the wrong skill, we’ll use the original roll and add proper modifiers.
Along the way there, Renny is picking up small stones and pebbles to shove into her pockets. Once they get there, she stops and looks at the two figures in the pathway to the house.
"Nope.. already don't like this."

"No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow" "No power in the 'verse can stop me"
Renny - as you look closer at the two figures, you can see now that they are children. The younger looking boy is whimpering. The older looking girl then shushes the little boy and they both turn to you. The little girl looks at all of you and says: "There's a monster in our house!!"
and she points to the house. The windows are dark. It has a gated portico on the ground floor, and the rusty gate is slightly ajar.
Karlina, the older looking female child looks at you and says: "Um, I dunno... we've never seen it before. We just hear its terrible noises... all the time. Mommy and Daddy keep it in the basement... far away from the baby. They say not to worry about it... but it's scary..."
Here's the general layout of what you guys can see so far based on your progress from the top down perspective. The windows are dark. There is a gated portico on the ground floor, and the rusty gate is slightly ajar. Any other specific details you might want to know will require a skill check.
I hope we can start to really get this going after the holidays!

Ignatia regards the children with a dubious eye, " Right."
" There are noises in the basement and a baby...in the attic? Far from the ' monster'. And where are Mommy and Daddy?"
" Just a monster? Any spirits? Demons?", she queried as she shuffled closer to the children.
" An interesting family, yours.....", she muttered as she inspected them carefully.
She waved a hand in front of the children a couple of times.*
*Prestidigitation: Cleaning their clothing and faces.
"Yes... horrible scary noises. From the basement. We can't sleep. A baby yes ma'am close to our room. Mommy and Daddy? Hmmm I think they are around... can you go in and find the bad monster?"
"Spirits? Demons? What are those?"
Ignatia - when you cast Prestidigitation to clean the children, nothing happens. The dirt on their clothes and faces is still there.....
Can you re-roll the Insight and Arcana checks? They didn't seem to come through. Then I will be able to finish this post :)
I'm not sure what's up, but I can see your original rolls now - so let's use them (22 Insight, 11 Arcana)
Ignatia, from looking closer at these children, you get a feeling that they likely are not being genuine with their statements, and seem to be primarily focused on getting all of you in the house.
You also notice both of the children's figures flicker a little bit... very fast, and you barely notice it, but it was almost like they looked like projections flickering on and off for a moment.

OOC: Yep correct about the coins on the table at the Inn. Make sure to grab yours or let me know if you leave your share!
Karlina plunks down 20 coins. "I need a battle axe and a shield."
(took my share, btw)
