Start at 10th level; you can have any gear you're proficient with; 2 uncommon and 1 rare magic item; any official or UA races, feats, etc.; the mystic is the only allowed class.
No implication intended here that we can't have multiple PCs as duplicate specializations too. More the merrier!
It was a quiet night on the ramparts and the harvest moon was full above. A lonely elf sat on the wall, feet over the edge staring out on the horizon, turning over a radiant emerald in her hand. A soft hum caused her to stuff the jewel into a small pocket, causing a soft jingle. The night had been good and now it was time for the close.
A guard strode up to the elf with a spear held forward to the ground, "Get off the wall! No one aside from the watch are allowed." Listlessly the elf turned her head to the man, "She's beautiful when she puts on the red. It's like she is desperate for the affections of everyone down here. Always fleeting, teasing, wanting to be caught, but enjoying the chase too much."
The guard stood perplexed for a moment, then noted the moon, "I suppose so, but please, get down. No one is allowed up here except the city watch."
The elf stood and stretched, then turned on a heel to face into the city, "Down? Well alright, then." She leaned back and back, until her weight was too far-gone and she tumbled over the side. The guard rushed to the edge, but it was too late. As he looked over the side he realized the ploy as an arrow came streaming into his face. The body jerked down and slammed into the wall. A rope tied to the arrow pulled tight with the new anchor it acquired. Shariel eased herself down on the rappel line until she hung just out of reach from the ground. Around her, a warband of a hundred orcs stood ready, "Good evening everyone. As discussed, entrance in exchange for payment. Hand it over now, or this line goes back up along with an alarm."
A particularly nasty-looking orc strode foward, gave a snort to the elf and threw a small but heavy sack of coins. The elf gladly took payment and vanished like dust in the breeze. The next hour found the city watch alerted just in time to stop an orcish vanguard from opening the city gates to their main force.
By the end of the morning, an orc army was defeated, the city's defenses were in poor shape due to the unexpected conflict, and the head of the orcish commander was mysteriously delivered to the city's lord. Guards told of a wraith that moved through battle delivering death to friend and foe alike. Capture orcs spat curses of an elf that corrupted their chief and led him to ruin.

If I've got a little time I think I've got a character I could fashion up that might be interesting. Can I take a few days to get that together? (and is multi-classing kosher, i.e. mystic/monk?)

I had actually asked about the prospect not too long ago. My conflict isbthatvthe Mystic abilities are just so nice that it's hard to decide giving them up for another class.

I can roll up an Immortal, that was my second choice - let me mull on the particular character - do you guys have any ideas of the tenor of the campaign? Fantasy/Horror/Low- or High-magic? that sort of thing? So I can tailor him/her up nicely...

Evil and definitely magic I think. Also, there is the always-appealing background of the opposing twins: Indominable Might and Unparalleled Speed. It's funny because I was just saying the other day how my Nomad could pull 2 swords and double as a less-flashy Soul Knife due to the mobility and teleportation.

Ok - I like basing my characters on existing properties and make tweaks and whatnot. Partially because it's fun to transpose the existing characters into a new environment, partially because it saves me a bit of time when I'm already spending too much on them, and lastly because it makes me get fast and loose with the character building mechanics (to the chagrin of DMs and negating some of the time-saving effects of the "basing-a-character-on.." bit).
So I'd like to give you guys two choices of who you'd like to ride with, both would be played as Immortals, tanks, heavy-weapons - most likely human.
1: Tyler Durden - from the novel, not the movie, Fight Club. In the novel he is a reprehensible, non-sympathetic instigator and delights in the tortures he instills largely with much less direction than the David Fincher version. He'd be a bit bon-vivant, and a bit flamboyant (as the Brad Pitt reading) - but all malice, manipulation, and conceit. Alternatively, I could give him the Adaptive Body discipline and play him as both "Tyler Durden" and "The Narrator" (Ed Norton) where he uses that Psychic Focus to need no sleep and switches to the Narrator when he's meant to be sleeping. This may prove overcomplicated, but could be fun.
2: Chamber, from the Generation X/X-men comics - but as an evil character. Basically blew out his chest and jaw in a violent display of force, is held together via his psionic power, covers the glowing, crackling wound with his clothing and is basically a cannon of energy. He'd be relatively quite - communicating only via telepathy - and stand-offish, but he'd look super rad. And bonus, the actual character in the Marvel franchise is based on Psionic Energies and with the exception of the mechanism by which he maintains that font of energy that seems to emanate from his chest and lower jaw, would port pretty well to the existing Mystic structure and Immortal disciplines in general. His character in the comics needs no food or drink, so Adaptive Bodywould likely still be a pre-req unless I can figure another avenue out for that.
Either character would be tailored to the game, not a direct port, and more than anything just a jumping off point for me to have fun with.
I like that Chamber is already built as a psionic battery, but I feel like the Tyler Durden approach has much more....character(s). If I'm not mistaken, Tyler was also not shy about taking various weapons to heads to make an example.

I already have Barlow as a Nomad, Ivanchina as a Soul Knife, and ScottySkid as a Wu Jen.

For example, without an Immortal, who can tank?

Just in case the DM will allow a roll-based character for better stats:
18, 10, 10, 10, 9, 10 (and 1 more in case we allow the "roll 7 stats, drop lowest rule": 10)
Compared to a current STR9, DEX15, CON10, INT15, WIS12, CHA10 (27-point buy)
Add in the modifiers and I'd be sitting at STR 10, CON 11, DEX 20, INT 16, WIS 14, CHA 12
