Wulfgar ponders for a moment before placing his hands on the table and getting up with a sigh. He says, "I agree with getting supplies but let's plan out our trip first. Do we want to start with the closest location and work our way out or travel to the farthest and work our way in? Or if they are all spread out do we do each separate and rest in between?"
-------
Ooc: do we have a map or a description of the general location of these places?
OOC: Icebound peaks is the first location described, Staircase Cliffs (to the left) is the second and Dolor Forest is the third. Staircase Cliffs is the closest location. All locations can be reached within a single day as they are all only a few miles away from each other.
If we have the money to do so. Wulfgar would get a climber's kit as well.
"I hope we dont have to physically climb the cliff... As you all recall. I dont have much in the say of muscles," he says and gives a slight nervous laugh.
(OOC: Unfortunately, neither of you have enough gold for a climbers kit. If you want to purchase one, you'll probably have to chip in together as it's 25gp.)
As ready as you can afford to be, you all leave Parabor and head off to the Staircase Cliffs. The walk is a short and easy one, only an hour's walk, as the plains are flat and the weather is calm. The closer you approach the cliffs, however, the winds begin to pick up speed. A series of plateaus stacked on top of one another rise high into the sky and give the Staircase Cliffs their signature look. Here the wind comes down hard from the Icebound Peaks in the North, chapping your face.
As you get closer, you can make out the details of the cliff. Along the 75ft high cliff face are a number of small ledges, about 5ft wide and at varying heights. At the middle of the face, approximately 40ft up, is a ledge which spans the entire width of the cliff face. The face is also marred with small, circular holes big enough for a rat. At its top you can make out a yurt covered in animal skins.
(OOC: The closest ledges to the ground are four ledges about 15ft up)
"That's a real fear" Maelaryn said with a bit of a frown, not only due to the thought of what could come out of the holes but also the high winds and the thought of having to climb. He wasn't strong, and climbing these cliffs would probably be next to impossible for him without assistance. "If anyone here is an adept climber, and has some rope maybe they go first and then we can all tie off for assistance?"
(I forgot you manage the sheets. I had enough for the purchase before. I apologize and will try to refrain from further sheet manipulations.)
Ayer will use their Mingle with the Wind ability to cast levitate on themself and begins to use the cliff to glide up to each ledge and lower a rope for their companions issuing the aide action where appropriate.
Wulfgar stared at the rock wall with trepidation. He could almost feel his arms ache before he started. Just as he built up enough nerve to start a rope fell from above from Ayer. Grabbing it he will try to make his way up and thank him if he makes it.
(OOC: Ah, I see. Well then, Ayer, you have a climbers kit.)
Ayer gracefully and elegantly glides up to one of the four ledges located 15ft high and throws down a rope just in time for Wulfgar to use to climb. Though it is a struggle and he most certainly would've fallen, with the help of the rope, Wulfgar manages to pull himself up onto the same ledge as Ayer. The ledge is quite small, however, and doesn't look like it could fit anyone else.
Another 15ft above and to the left, there is another ledge the two could climb or glide to. Alternatively, only 5ft higher and to the right is another ledge.
(OOC: Sercender is on a separate ledge from Ayer and Wulfgar since her ledge can only hold one person. The only way for her to go is up and to the left. The other two ledges that have no one on them can also only hold one person.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Looking up Wulfgar sees the ledge up 5ft and just to the right. "Right, you can do this," he whispers to himself. Taking a deep breath he begins to climb to the next ledge.

(Sorry, apparently I got unsubscribed from all my threads. Reading up on what's happened.)
Ayer sits listening quietly as the details are discussed. They clear their throat and say.
"I believe it best to go to one, then recuperate here before the next. Possibly starting with the cliffs." (dropping the color after complaints.)
"Naturally." Sercender nods.
"I am very proficient in traversing woods and forests so that one should not be too troubling."
(OOC: Just let me know when you're all ready to head out and if there's any supplies you want to buy)
"That seems good to me. I'll follow your lead in the forests, more accustomed to cities myself." Alryn returns the nod.

Ayer will go into the city to collect an extra Climber's Kit, but otherwise it's ready to go.
If we have the money to do so. Wulfgar would get a climber's kit as well.

"I think we have to climb it, unfortunately. I'm worried what's going to come out of those holes, despite them making ideal hand and foot holds."
Sercender attempts to climbb the 15 feet to the next ledge.

Sercender Athletics Check: 10
Sercender successfully manages to climb the ledge. About 10ft above her and to the left is another 5ft wide ledge.

(OOC: I thought we were just all climbing the rope, but that wasn’t specified by me.)
Sercender climbs up and to the left
(Ah I see. Ayer, did you go to the 40ft ledge or just up the first 15ft ledge? My bad, I may have interpreted their post wrong)
