Infurin focuses his mind, eyes now red, flinging an undulating red and black mass of energy at the gnoll bag of bones from the end of his staff, infernal runes in the magic in his offhand used to call the spell to life. [Eldritch Blast: To Hit: 24 Damage: 6]
With a crack that shakes the entire front wall, the main gate swings open violently slamming into Valen’s chest knocking him back and prone. Behind it reveals a massive beast with equally massive jaws. Corus briefly both recognize it to be a much larger version of the frenzied dog-like creatures they had fought a few days hence. He didn’t dwell on this though as the Massive Beast and two Undead Gnolls rushed towards him.
The first undead jumps towards Corus slamming its club uselessly into his armor. Meanwhile, the Giant Beast clamps its jaws onto his shoulder but fails to crack the cold steel of his armor. Meanwhile, the other Undead Gnoll falls on Valen with its jaws which Valen blocks with his vambrace and shoves it back, only for its club to meet his elbow awkwardly(5 Bludgeoning damage).
The fire at the back of the outpost continues to spread along the walls. As it does two more Undead Gnolls rise over the side of the walls on either side of the growing flames. Able to take a moment to survey the area around the walls Lia is able to see that there is no more movement on the two sides of the wall that she can see.

Upon seeing the massive creature that burst in through the gate, Zook chucked a vial of Alchemical Acid at it. Unfortunately, it bounced harmlessly off of its hide and broke somewhere behind it, doing no damage.
"Maybe Zook should stick with using the crossbow for now..." the Gnome said as he leveled the weapon at the creature, about to fire.
The gate is shuddering violently under the relentless assault of the undead foes. Corus braces himself and brings his shield up to cover his face from the shrapnel that may fly.
CRASH!
The gate explodes and splinters of wood and metal fly everywhere. Debris bounces off his shield and armor as evil monstrosities barge through the opening. He looks to his side to see Valen tossed to the ground by the debris and monster. "Valen!" Corus moves to position himself between the beast and his ally. He hopes to at least by him time to get on his feet. "This is not good." "Prepare yourselves!" The first priority is taking out this giant beast. "Enter the realm of frost, foul beast!" Corus swings wide across the giant hyenas face. As he swings, the temperature begins to drop around him, and frost forms on his longsword. The sword strikes true, as it leaves a nasty wound on the hyena's face. (18 damage)
Valen gains a brief moment of inspiration before the final blow against the gate. The thought comes too late as he steps forward and is thrown by a rush of debris. He shield luckily blocks all but the force, but it is still enough to stagger him from good footing.
The dread hyena rushes in to break the cleric's shield as a rear gnoll looses an arrow. Valen braces for the hyena, causing the arrow to sail high as he drops. The beast's jaw clamps to the top of the shield and tears it aside, allowing another gnoll a clear hit with a club that leaves Valen's arm stinging. Infuriated, Valen pushes to his feet and shoves the beast aside while slamming his mace into the gnoll's shoulder (6 dmg).

Zook had loosed another harmless bolt. He didn't see if he had missed completely or had only harmlessly grazed the Giant Hyena due to the flash of light from the Paladin. Seeing Valen then quickly taken out, the Gnome's mind raced through the calculations of their odds of survival and found that the odds were better with him still alive.
"Zook might regret this..." he said as he pulled out a Healing Draught and raced over to the unconscious Valen, leaping off the upturned cart he had been standing on and racing between the legs of the invading creatures. "But hopefully you'll drink this before Zook's taken out too."
