Grimnir focusses and connects with his spores as well as all the fungi in the cave. All at once release heavy spores, obscuring the visibility.

Oorr and Zippy rush after Valrish, and also fall victim to the Medusa's petrified gaze, but Brox's aura keeps them from turning completely to stone. With both of them restrained Grimnir leaps into action, obscuring the entire cave with fungal spores. Combined with the bright light ebbing from Dawnbringer, the room turns a blinding white. Everyone is now effectively blinded but the Medusa can no longer affect anyone with her gaze as well. Jimjar's arrows bounce off a far wall, not finding their target.
You hear her voice cry out, "You think this fog will stop me? You walked right in to Neheedra's lair, and now you will suffer for it. I was needing some new lawn ornaments. Ha!"
You can't see what she does, but you hear her move down from the throne. You then hear the sound of snakes hissing, and two sword swings as she attacks...
Valrish - You feel the lash of a dozen tiny snake bites sink into your neck, and then a shortsword swipe down across your chest. You are powerless to resist, but she is swinging blind, and in the white fog, her second sword swipe misses.
Oorr is getting petrified by the Medusa gaze and is ashamed for letting Zippy suffer the same fate. Lift the crossbow, he shots a bolt, the zephyr still guiding.
Brox sees the spores go up and cover everything. Quickly she can see no further than a few centimetres. She stands in the middle of a white, quiet island.
The medusa probably moved somewhere else by now. It's better to help my companions.
Brox concentrates, then sends her light to the ones affected by the medusa. She visualises a bright aura for Valrish, Oorr and Zippy, blessing them to fight this curse of turning to stone.
Eldeth, watching from outside the cave, sees the brightly lit fog fill the space, and the sounds of fighting. She continues to hold her ground, ready to shoot the medusa as soon as it emerges.
Within the fog, Brox's blessing finds Valrish, as he strains against the petrification that is reaching to his core. (DC 14 Con Save: 7).
Though no one can see it happen, a statue now stands where Valrish once was.

After his attacks, Grimnir will stomp hard on the floor, trying to produce vibrations to help Brox localize the Medusa. And then disengage 20 ft away.
Jimjar, closes his eyes and focuses on the noise only. Seconds pass, waiting for the cue...then a hissing sound. Jimjar releases swiftly his 2 arrows.
Grimnir strikes in the bright fog, searching for a point that he might connect. He gets a lucky break, as the medusa dodges his first strike, only for him to strike a nerve in her neck on the second strike, stunning her immediately. Jimjar's arrows find purchase in her chest, though they do not sink deep.

Brox tries hard to spot the tiniest irregularities within the fog. When Grimnir jumps she thinks she can see some movement where the spores billow in a certain area. Brox walks forward into the fog and swings her maul over her head.
She brings it down in a wide arc on the medusa 25 for bludgeoning damage: 24 (double dice for critic + 1 dice for savage attack from half-orc) + divine smite lvl2 radiant damage 23 (double dice for critic)
Reroll damage for 'Great Weapon Fighting Style' (reroll 1s and 2s): 8 and 17
Damage for first attack total: 52
When Brox feels her weapon connect well, she sends her god-given energy into the hit and can feel the medusa's bones crush under the weight of her weapon. She again brings up her maul and this time swings it in an upper hook towards where she thinks the medusa's face might be.
to hit: 24 for damage 7 and again Brox sends her divine energy (divine smite lvl1) into the weapon for additional radiant damage 12
Reroll damage for 'Great Weapon Fighting Style' (reroll 1s and 2s): 3 and 8

Brox can feel that she connects again and that the medusa is close to death. She again sends her god given light into her weapon, trying to finish the enemy, but there is still some life in the evil creature.
During all this Brox still concentrates on sending some light to Oorr and Zippy (still blessed for attack rolls and saving throws).
The medusa cries out in agony and blows from Brox's divinely blessed war maul connect with her in the fog. She crumples under the blows, but is still unable to move due to the stun from Grimnir.
Eldeth hears the screams, but feels that her best bet is to wait and be ready to attack if anything exits the cave.
Brox, after your attacks on the Medusa, you hear a feminine voice call out to you. You're surprised to hear it at first, until you realize the voice is in your mind, talking to you telepathically. "Pick me up! I want to help! This evil cannot stand!" Your eyes are drawn to the source of the light in the fog as you see a pulse near your feet.

Oorr and Zippy will attack the Medusa from the sides, simultaneously. Oorr taught Zippy this type of attacks a few weeks back, showing two tiny spiders on a spiderweb getting at the same trapped moth.
With a stab in the side, the Medusa hisses in pain, screaming, leaning backwards and leaving the throat defenceless. Zippy, coming from the other side pierces with the surgical bite the exposed skin. The Medusa, then, screams no more and dark, greenish blood start flowing abundantly from the two holes.
Oorr stares at the corpse for a while, waiting to be sure that the monster will stay dead.
The cave falls silent as the Medusa dies. The cave is still filled with fog, and the soft glow from Dawnbringer still illuminates it, as it calls to Brox.
Eldeth calls out from beyond the mouth of the cave, "Are ye alright in there!? What's happening?"
The level of stress in the voice of his companion seems to be back to normal. "I am going to remove the fog", says Grimnir
A few second later, Grimnir's spores settle down, revealing the battleground. In the middle of the cavern, Grimnir sees the medusa lying on the floor in a pool of blood. Her head smashed down by what seems to be a large bludgeoning weapon. Grimnir looks rapidly around to assess the health of his companion.
The fog clears revealing the dead Medusa and the stone figure of Valrish. Dawnbringer lies at his feet. Jimjar lets out a slow whistle as Eldeth enters the cave. “Oh... oh no...” she says.
Proof of the dead Medusa may be of interest to the gnomes back in Blingdenstone and help your standing with them. The only other things of interest in the cave is the rack of clothing.
