Ethan, not the kind to mark anything off as unimportant, files the glimmer away and turns back to the elf woman. "Yes this lady." He nods to his companion again. "Would you be able to give me some sort of deal on full plate armor?" He asks. "I have my chain mail, which is in good condition, plus 100 Gold I can offer in exchange. I am a member of the City Guard, so am good for any extra you wish to charge, as long as I can pay that back when we return from our journey."
The elven woman seems a bit distracted. “Oh.. uh.. how about... 50 gold and the chainmail in exchange for full plated armor? I can get the rest of the cost from the city, since you work for the Guard. Take good care of the lady, good sir.” She winks with a knowing smile.
"Very well." Ethan says, his voice a bit hesitant at his good luck, but he pays over the 50 gp and exchanges the chain mail for the full plate. "Thank you very much." He says as he leaves the armorer a few minutes later.
"Now let me show you the city." He says, and gives the lady a tour of the place.
Eira pops by a store to quickly refill her supply of arrows but other than that, she just wanders around doing window shopping and helping old ladies with their own shopping before meeting up with the rest of the group the next day.
With a even, measured pace, Zadoris walks into the front entry way of the guild. He gently removes his gear and then relaxes against the wall giving any others that had beat him a polite nod.
Equipment:
Switched out leather for studded leather, grabbed a shield, grappling hook, and mess kit. I forgot that warlock hex blades can summon a weapon so I didn't end up buying the longsword, just flavoring that it's at his side always.
After the initial meeting with Malyra, the party’s members split up to get their gear, as well as any other materials they may need. Everyone had a good night of sleep before the beginning of their journey. At sunrise, everyone woke up and prepared to leave. You all meet up outside of the guild building. You need to find a way to get to Cython. You may choose to walk or perhaps you know someone that can take you through the forest. What do you do?
"Seems like we have a trek through the forest ahead of us." Ethan says with a nod to the group as they assemble. "I can try to get us some horses for the trip if you are all comfortable riding." He bows to the lady as she arrives. "My lady, we were just discussing our travel through the forest. I can talk to some old military buddies of mine and probably get us some horses on loan if that is wanted." He turns back to the others in the group. "Anyone have any contacts that might be able to help make this forest travel easier for us?"
From beneath his hood, Zargaroth is keeping an eye on the vicinity looking for people watching him or the group. He doesn't stop doing that to look at the group when he finally speaks.
"Eira seems to be the type of person to know the forests well. I guess she could navigate us. Anyways, I'd prefer riding if you can get us some horses. The faster we go the better. If the wrong people get to know what we are up to, our task will be a lot more difficult."
A woman walks towards the entrance of the guild building. She’s slightly limping and has visible cuts on her arms and legs. She’s supporting a man missing his right arm. The man turns his head toward you all. His face is covered in blood. He says to the woman, “They seem strong enough. Ask them. Please.” The woman approaches you. “I’m sorry to bother you all, but we’re a bit desperate. There are bandits lurking in the forest outside Herona and they keep attacking our shipments. We can’t get any of our wares out of this city. Can you please help us?” She looks extremely frustrated and exhausted.
As Zargaroth mentions her, Eira nods enthusiastically. "Oh yes, I'm quite good within forests. I grew up in one after all! I can-"She stops mid sentence as the two injured people approach. "Oh no. We have to help! I mean, we're going through the forests anyways, right? Dealing with the bandits will probably be a good idea."
Zagaroth saw the newcomers approach, he watches them warily, suspicious of their intentions and he keeps alert even after they made their request. As a response to Eiras plea to help them he says:
"We should not forget that we already signed up for a mission so I think our client should be considered in this decision. But I am with you on this Eira, we might run into them anyways. It would be better to seek them out and surprise them rather than running into some kind of ambush. Plus, for our mission we need to work as a team in battle and we should rather get used to that sooner than later."
"You can definitely have your cargo travel with us." Ethan nods his agreement. "With so many extra blades, we should be able to make sure your shipment gets through." He glances to the Lady then and bows respectfrully. "That is if it pleases you my lady." He offers. "I would not think this would overly delay us in our travels..."
Zadoris sighs quietly and runs his hand through his hair moving stray pieces from his line of sight. He looks at the others questioningly and says, "I guess it looks like I am that guy."
He holds his hands up saying, "we here are guild members and this is the guild hall. We currently have a contract and are just heading out. That said, we may head through that area anyways. If we were to take on this side mission, we must talk about proper compensation." He pauses a moment and continues, "Now that does not necessarily mean gold, maybe we barter transportation or a discount of goods something of the likes."
The injured man mutters something, trying to speak, but he doesn’t have enough energy to say it out loud. “My.. wife... at.. Cython.” The woman looks to you all and ‘translates.’ “My sister-in-law works in Cython. We just need to get our shipments there so we can supply our shops up north. Perhaps if you came with us, the bandits would stay away. Would that be okay?” This woman is pleading with her eyes, full of frustration.
"I must go and speak with a few associates of mine, hopefully getting us those horses I mentioned." Ethan says, nodding to the injured man and the woman with him. he bows to the Lady, then turns and walks briskly away.
(Using Ethan's Military Rank feature to get horses loaned to him... Do you wish to RP this out or just assume he gets them?)

Just buying 20 arrows. (1gp)

Cora thinks for a bit.
”I don’t have any at the moment, but I could go find someone who might know the forests better.”

Zadoris frowned, "I do not have any forest friends that can help but I do have a tent and the lady can borrow my tent."

Cora looks concerned for the man and woman's wounds, but excited at the prospect of more adventures.

"Of course! We'll help get your shipment to Cython safe as can be. We guarantee it!" Cora replies.

Would you rather go with the merchants or with your loaned horses?
