we are almost there with the preparations. Let s go over a couple rules/words of advice
1. Level advancement will be milestone based, not xp based
2. What I really really love about Curse of Strahd is its sandboxy nature: you will be placed on a map and there will be story and there will be quests, but I am not going to streamline you (maybe at the very beginning...just a bit :) This means you might very well end up in a place that is way above your pay grade. I might drop you hints in the story when you do that, but the choice is yours. As I said, this is not a smash and kill game.
3. This also means that one or more of you may die. When this happens, don’t despair. You might be brought back to life, or maybe the story is not finished when you die ;)
4. I might or might not use a revisitation of skill challenges in some parts of the game. For those of you who don’t know what I am talking about, this is a rule borrowed from 4e and it is supposed to allow for the players and me to describe a complex action together. We can go over the details, but basically this is an evolution over the simple skill check: for a complex situation I will ask you to roll multiple skill check, one for every obstacle you face and you will fail when you accrue a foxed number of failures (usually 3,4 or 5). Is everyone cool with that? I can post an example if you want one.
5. To speed up things, let s make rolls preventively in your posts. So if you want to attack someone, roll the attack and the damage, even if you don’t know it does hit. or roll the relevant skill check if you want to search a room before I ask you to do so. If you think it s obvious, roll it! we can always correct each other and ignore a dice roll. This is commonly done in PbP, so I guess many of you are familiar with this way of playing? I am new myself, so I will have to learn how to do this properly, but I am the DM, which I guess it s an advantage as I don’t have to share all my rolls with you :)
Any questions? Or any advice from the experts of PbP?
Suppose it could count as advice. I’m seeing most DMs here roll inside spoilers without any explanation of what it’s for, kinda like rolling behind the screen.
I also created a campaign in my DnD Beyond profile, so I could easily collect your character sheet (all of them on DnD Beyond, correct?). I am not sure how it works, but I am supposed to send you the invitation link for you to accept. Let me know if it works:
I didn’t get a message yet
Fear not...you are next. Not everybody has received a PM, I am going with some kind of order, and depending on what I am preparing for you

Okay...got it..i think. i am sure we will sort it out as we go. :D
When do you think we will start?
Sorry...just wanted to try some functionality of the forum :)
I am ready. I am working on the introduction and I will post it soon.
I am still receiving some PM replies from the last players. I think by the end of day tomorrow we will have the first post of the game!
In case people don't respond I'll like to save a spot in line to join. I can post an application if needed tomorrow.
