"Oh very good, very good! I've got just the mule for you, about 18 months old, friendly little girl, and hauls like a horse!" Ecobann laughs at his own joke.
"Now let's see..."Ecobann looks at the whole group, "One mule for all of you? Do you want a cart too? Or is one mule going to do the trick?"
"Actually, we're here on behalf of Gundrun Rockseeker - says he has a wagon that needs an escort. We are the aforementioned escort. The mule is for our own goods; speaking of which, I think I'll need about a week's worth of rations, a decent tent, and... Well, I'd like some of that hard candy, as well."
Helgrid's brusque, matter-of-fact tone softens as she sees a jar of red and white swirled candy on a shelf, and for a second, it's apparent that she is fairly young for a Dwarf.
To Lyngheid, she says quietly, out of earshot of the non-dwarf party members "Aye, my clan is well off, and I'm accustomed to a certain level of comfort, but I'm also the eighth of twelve children, the oldest girl-child of my family, and when you have older brothers like mine, you get to learn how to defend yourself. With my brothers covering everything internally, and my propensity for getting into scrapes, I reasoned that I'd be better off putting my skills and faith to use defending the Clan, and providing a good example to my little sisters, too. I've been too busy training to think of anything like marriage - not the right time."
Ecobann's whole demeanor seems to brighten even more, if possible. "Oh! You are the crew that Gundren mentioned. Great! His wagon is almost done, I'll have the boys finish it up now!"
Ecobann yells into the back: "Dylan!! Logan!! Drop what you're doing and finish up the Rockseeker order!"
Ecobann turns back to Helgrid. "Let's see here, rations and tent, we can do that. I'll throw the hard candy in for free. Gundren bought so much, that I'll give you all a 5% discount on whatever you buy. How does that sound?"
OOC: If a couple of people want to try to bargain for a lower price, use the Help and one person roll a persuasion with advantage.

" Not sure about the human woman.....elves are elves...."
" I am a Faenor of the Great Mother Truesilver, what is the name of your order?"
She let others bargain and such while she waited for the wagon to be readied.
Baeshra's eyes will widen hearing Helgrid mention the tent, "Yes, a tent too would be nice! So I will need mule, pack saddle, bit and bridle, one week feed for mule, dagger, tent, and herbalism kit. Gundren said he had food for the journey for us already, yes? Then that should be everything, thank you!"
(Ooc, by my math it should total 22 gold, 3 silver and 5 copper. With the discount 21 gold, 2 silver and 3.25 copper, I assume round up. If someone wants to negotiate a better deal, go for, I'll add the stuff to my sheet and pull the cost tomorrow.)
"I 'ave 5 gold for te common fund. Who is 'olding it?" To his mates.
"A mule that pulls like a horse? T'at's unfortunate, is t'e beast not healt'y? Legs not evenly matched? Lemme see t'ose teeth. Just pulls like a horse, he says, like t'at's a good t'ing. Gialine glides toward the desk where the rest of the party are currently ordering the supplies for the trip. Taking full advantage of the fact that the members of the party are piling equipment to be rung out she softly and lustfully says, "Oh Ecobann, surely you could give us a better deal especially when we are buying so much and a little more of a discount means more coin for yourself. What do you say, Ecobann?"
Ecobann blushes slightly. "Alright, alright! Ten percent off whatever you need! And free candy for everyone!"
He turns to Tildenn, "Twas just a joke, this mule pulls like a mule, but you can check out all three of our mules and see which one you like. And yes, we've got quarter staffs."
Just then, a small, dark haired, halfling child runs up: "Papa? Rockseeker's wagon will be finished in a half hour."
Ecobann turns to the group: "Alright! Your wagon is almost ready. By the time you finish up shopping, it will be done."
As you finish up, a fully loaded wagon with two Ox pulls up outside, Ecobann exclaims "Ah, there it is!". The wagon is packed with boxes, barrels and some loose canvas bags. There is enough room for the driver and a passenger on the bench up front. "A couple barrels of water and a crate of rations is at the back here for you." Ecobann points out. "You have a good trip now, stop in again when you come back!"
OOC: Buy what you want from the basic adventuring gear in the players handbook at a 10% discount. The mule gets you an additional 400 pounds of load, nice job! Just put it in your inventory for now, I'll figure out how to track the mules load vs PCs for the purposes of encumbrance.

Gialine places an Ink (1 ounce) bottle and an ink pen onto the counter [10g and 2cp at 10% discount = 9g and 2cp], reaches into her robes and produces her coin purse. She watches as Ecobann wraps the bottle carefully along with the pen and hands the items over. She places them in a small compartment in her backpack, making sure that they won't break during travel.
Gialine then places 5g into the pool of coins to pay for the mule. "De athae, de i mhellon nîn n’uir", she turns to the rest of the party as she places the coin into the pool, "I will meet you all at the cart and this here shall help pay for the mule and any other items you so wish to purchase." She leaves to sit on the wagon.

(OOC: Gold contributions should be good, thank you all. As for encumbrance etc, I added the items to my sheet and customized the weight to 0 and added a note that it was on the mule. Then I added the mule onto the extras tab and put a note on there how much it is carrying vs capacity, I forgot how heavy the feed is, so current weight is 140/420, just let me know total weights to add and I'll adjust the note.)

Helgrid finishes her shopping, thanks Ecobann for the discount and the candy, and heads outside. She shares a grin with Org over the candy as she pops one in her mouth, then takes a lead position at the head of the small caravan.
Elia climbs in the wagon and sits down. "Yes, I'm Elia. Pleased to meet you. I am looking forward to our adventure. I haven't been far from home before."
"Neither have I. I've always wanted to travel ever since I was a gwein Edhel. Where are you from Aasimar?" asks Gialine as she moves so that Elia can sit on the back of the wagon too.
