Beneath the world, and underneath the city of Holos, lies the ruins of a once great empire, the Zevran empire. The party is part of the cityguard and have been ordained as of late to find the creatures that have come below to murder its citizens.
The city of Holos is part of a network of islands and trading ports in the area, in fact much of the known world is islands and oceans.
So far the party has almost killed off four giant rats in the sewers beneath Holos. One rat is left with 4hp (I think). Brundel's action is up.
Let me know how you want to do this, here or on Discord. I am not sure if it would be best to start fresh, or import the posts from TK as a single "summary" post and go from there. Up to you.
If people could list what class they were thinking of playing. Right now we have 2 druids - I think, cleric, a fighter(NPC). I'd prefer to have a somewhat balanced group, but I guess that's up to how people feel. We are doing milestone xp. For rolling stats either 4d6 dropping lowest in this thread, point buy or standard.
I was thinking revised ranger or a bard, but I'm flexible based on the needs of the group. If a particular class would work better that's fine with me.
If you're still recruiting, I have an Elven Rogue that I originally thought of as one of my other characters' retainers (for the Noble background feature), but I fleshed her character out just for fun.
I know that it's a little wordy, so here are the cliff notes:
Sivanna is an orphaned elf who was adopted as a baby by 2 broke, low class humans and raised as an uneducated, filthy street urchin. She learned how to be a rogue partially from having to beg and steal on the city streets to help support her parents, and also from working with her father's shady employers, who he though were perfectly legitimate businesspeople because that's what they told him they were, and he's not the sharpest tool in the shed and is too trusting.
Later on, she entered the service of a "bastard" Half-Orc Nobleman (technically his Orcish mother and Nobleman father were married by Orcish law, but this marriage was not recognized in human lands) as part of his entourage. Theoretically, she's a "maid" and somewhat dresses as one, but actually works along with her fellow "servants" to help the Half-Orc manage his father's smuggling business. As he doesn't really need her help most of the time, she and some other employees have plenty of free time to go on "vacation", which usually entails freelance mercenary work for hire. She's often hired out for not so legal or very iffy work, but is also known to do legitimate jobs too.
Sivanna's a reasonably tall, but skinny girl who's quite pale (as she mostly works at night and indoors), who has dirty, matted black hair that she wears close to her face. It's a little longer than shoulder length, and sometimes it'll barely cover the right-side of her face, but she always makes sure that the left side of her face is visible, along with the knife-scar on her left cheek. She tends to smell a little, because she doesn't like bathing, and she doesn't seem to be all that big on personal grooming or hygiene. Sivanna likes to wear a raggedy looking scullery maid outfit with a dull grey apron and headdress (rather than clean white ones) and her clothing has plenty of hidden pockets and folds where she likes to keep her many, many knives. Knives which she loves, and likes to use.
Fun Facts:
Sivanna technically speaks Elvish, but with a terrible low-class "human" accent, and her pronunciation is understandable, but bad.
Her nickname and underground codename is "Ophelia" but she doesn't like to be called that, and even stabbed a bard who made a big fuss about it, referencing some obscure play where some flower girl tried to climb a tree, but fell into a river when a branch broke.
This was because the bard (and some others) saw Sivanna fall into a river while also failing to climb a tree in the same way.
She got her scar from a knife fight with an Orc, a fight which she won. The Orc (unfortunately?) survived by running away.
Edit: I just realized that the "cliff notes" are still pretty long. So uh, sorry. At least they're still shorter than the actual character page?
Hey, you know what? I just realized that I wrote so much about the character, I forgot to write a summary of what her skills are in-game.
Basically, she's the kind of Rogue who's good and finding and disarming traps, pickpocketing and sleight of hand, along with being sneaky, agile and good at acrobatics and climbing. What she's NOT good at is people skills, including talking to people and figuring them out. She isn't really talkative or empathetic. Sivanna's also good at combat, but mostly with bladed weapons. She doesn't normally carry bludgeoning weapons, which can be trouble if she runs into skeletons or whatnot.
Hi, I'm only free tier, but I think that just straight linking to your character on beyond doesn't work yet. It just gives most people a 403 Access Forbidden Error. I think it may only work if you're given a link to join a Campaign, and then submit that character to a game run on D&DB's system. Which means that it's unfortunately only useful for people who are already part of the game, not those who are trying to get recruited or otherwise show their characters to others.
I use OrcPub for now because it allows for direct links, and you don't need to export to PDF, and then upload that somewhere (Google Drive sharing, etc.)
It's for that reason that I sent feedback to the D&DB team to say that direct linking / viewing would be a great solution, and more convenient than just exportable PDF's.
Are you still recruiting? I have a Dwarven Bard, A Dwarven Barbarian, a Dwarven Druid, a Dragonborn Sorcerer, a Druid Gnome, a Rogue Teifling, a Harpy Monk, a Hamelin Monk (Like a rat) (Those last 2 were created by an old DM for me, you're welcome to look over the race stats),
My main is the Dwarven Bard, but I want to multiclass them with Druid, I still have to read through how to multiclass, because the character maker here won't let me be a Bard and a Druid.
Then put this thread as private and remove the recruting please. Otherwise people like me will think you still do.

Starting level is 1.
Just one question. If this is for an existing game, why is it marked "Public" and "Recruiting"?

Tooltips (Help/aid)
Actively looking for more players.
Oh I guess the thread should be private so mah bad. Er I should make a thread that is private, this is the recruitment thread.
Let me know how you want to do this, here or on Discord. I am not sure if it would be best to start fresh, or import the posts from TK as a single "summary" post and go from there. Up to you.
If you're still looking for another player I'd like to join. Are there any restrictions/suggestions on character creation?
Im in to play as well if you need another player.
I'd like to play as well if there is room

I can create any character you want me to play and do the point buy system. I like paladins but can play anything like a cleric or wizard etc.
Thanks, caderly
