Fowlyn and Erdot enter the carriage, the dwarf woman seems to signal the carriages and climbs in. You feel a jolt of movement as the carriages begin to take you to your destination. As you look around the carriage you both notice a very old elven man sitting across from you two next to the dwarf woman. The woman looks you both in the eyes.
"So, I am Tallian Balkas, Leader of the golden axe," she says, nodding her head to you two, "It's a pleasure to meet you and your companions, i am very grateful for the work you are about to do for us. Can you tell me how much you know about the work?" she raises an eyebrow at the end of this. The elven man on the other hand, says nothing and does not move except he looks at each of you once. When he looks at you he almost seems to look through and into you at the same time. After looking at each of you for about three seconds each, he merely turns his head away, and goes back to being still.
((As they are going to their destination Rolen is going to try to weasel as much info as he can from the driver of the second carriage about where they are going and any potential danger they face.))
"So my good fellow, are you a member of Golden Axe or just a carriage driver by trade?"
"Sorry," he says "can't be talking to ya, hush hush business with the guild an all"
"Business that my traveling companions and I appear to be involved in good sir. I understand that discretion is a value many treasure. And I would be the last person to ask a man of your stature to divulge things that could get them into any sort of trouble. But being that I'm on a carriage being driven to a location I know nothing about trusting that I am on my way to a job and not a shallow ditch in the woods somewhere, I'd appreciate a little trust in return. Just between you and me what seems to be the hush hush business that requires your guild to get outsiders?" ((I'd like to try a persuasion check to get him to be a little more open.))
((Since he's basically just riding with a curious fiery haired tin-can and a grumbley half-orc, Karst would like to take this time to close his eyes, lean his head against the window, and try very hard to concentrate on the talkie-talk that's going on up above them. Maybe roll a perception check?))

"Helping them kill stuff, in all likelihood," Jocelyn says and cracks her knuckles. "I doubt they hired a bunch of warriors for a land survey." She too turns towards the driver. "I'd appreciate it if we knew who or what we're going up against."
(Can I use help to give Rolen advantage on persuasion?)
I guess I'll be our food supplier, tracker, and guide. "Eh, i'll make sure you don't get lost or go hungry." Lumgarsk says, taking Karst's statement as a challenge.

((It's funny because we are both Outlanders who roll the exact same on Nature and Survival...))
((That was kinda the point :D ))
((No, I mean like, we're both passablydecent at Survival and complete failures at Nature who are mostly getting by on the Outlander's "Wanderer" feature at best. It's just great. >_>))

"May I ask, ma'am: What exactly are we doing?" Folwyn says as he enters the carriage. "And... who are you?"
((Just a heads up, I'm going to be a little scarce this weekend. Doing family stuffs.))
((Same, friend's birthday on Saturday, Dad's birthday on sunday.))

"I know that the work involves a forest, and that is about it." Erdot responds.
((I did some math, and at this rate, we might make it to the forest by Christmas.))

"Karst is best surveyor of land!" Calls out the lizardman from inside the carriage. "Never forget rock or tree."
((OOC: BTW, for the list of characters, that's what the campaign page is for ;) Names and portraits of characters and their players are all listed.))
