"Ugh...", laments Invaih. He had hoped to eavesdrop and gather information, but seeing as the only patrons that appear able -- or willing -- to hold conversation were drunk, the information would likely be either exaggerated, or made up. Garnering his courage, Invaih first flipped back his hood, to avoid doing so bluntly after getting close. Most people were afraid of drow, and he did not want to add surprise to fear; that was a perfect way to get the swords out before the words.
No longer trying to be stealthy, he got up, took the time to take a second deep breath, and walked towards the bar, taking out a gold piece as he went.
"A mug of your specialty," he hailed at the dwarf before reaching the bar, "...and a bit of gossip, if you can muster!". All Invaih could do now was hope his being a drow would not cause a riot. He was not daring even to hope being accepted; the best he ever got was tolerance, and impatient they were he left even then.
All of the men except for thier leader fail, the leader looks down, seeing all the roots that burst through the floor. "Magic's not allowed in bar fights." Iradari, make an athletics check please.

"The hero sought to save the world.
"If I keep trying, I'll be able to win," the hero thought.
But the harder the hero fought, the further the world seemed to tumble away.
Drowning in doubt, the hero could not even save themselves.
Hero, if you still believe in a brighter future, hold in your heart a thorn that can pierce all doubt."
"A round of ales on me", repeats Artin in a friendly and firm voice. He picks up the broken focus with chagrin in his heart, noticing the beautiful wooden craftsmanship in the pieces. He begins to lead the Eladrin to his table.
(OOC - Artin attempts to use persuasion to get the humans to leave well enough alone and sit down).

I think you forgot to add the + to the modifier. I made the same mistake.

"The White Dragon eh?" he turns around and grabs a mug and fills it with white frothing liquid. Handing the drink to you, it smells very, very strong. "As for gossip, well... Missy Frogheart 'as been vandalizing again."

The leader lifts up Iradari by the collar and throws him onto the table, growling again.
Most of the men seem to distracted by the elf and the roots to hear you Artin. One of them glances in your direction and looks at the roots, then back at Iridari.

You sucessfully leap over the man, your head nearly brushing the ceiling, you kick him in the back, you push yourself off of him rather than you pushing him. As you land on all fours you feel a strong hand on the back of your neck as one of the four men pushes you down to the floor.
Meanwhile the halfling at the bar walks up to Artin's table, sets a couple mugs on the table, then walks up to Iradari on the floor. "Fedrir, get off him." She says in a stern voice, you feel the hand lift off of your neck with a grunt. She crouches down, "You should, give him his seat, he won't give up." she says a bit more sweetly.

Surprised that the old Dwarf hadn't even blinked at a drow appearing in his bar, Invaih took a sip without fully registering the strength of the drink. 9 (CON). Or maybe he just didn't get a good look at me... the drow tried to reason, unbelieving.
Recovering from his shock by these thoughts and the taste of the White Dragon (which strength aside, he didn't find unpleasant), Invaih pressed the man:
"Frogheart, vandalizing?". He looked around at the mess, and although he knew he was threading dangerous ground in his assumption, he has to ask. "You mean that Frogheart gal is often vandalizing your tavern?"
"Give him his seat, meet me back here tomorrow morning, I need to talk to you about something." she stands up and walks away. You stand up and look at the table you were trying to secure. All of the men got themselves seated and situated, you have a feeling that you should take a different table, more have opened up due to nervous customers who didn't want to get involved.

I shrug, pick up the two halves of my wand, then walk over to the Halfling. "I'm terribly sorry about that. Shall we take a seat?" I gesture to the nearest empty table.

You don't take a quick enough sip that you dont intake too much of the drink with any side effects, you feel that drinking more would not be very healthy. "O' course!" he yells, "and she's accusing me of doing the same, but I clearly didn't" the dwarf throws his hands in the air, his face burning red.

Invaih didn't think this had much to do with the rumors of corruption, but took barely a moment to consider.
"It seems like you are in a dilemma," Invaih stated. "Fortunately for us both, I have, shall we say, a few skills in collecting information. I would gladly investigate, and seek to find proof, as to who is vandalizing your tavern." He paused a few seconds for effect. "The only think I would ask for in exchange is to be able to come back and talk with you when I may, perchance for information, or perchance for humor." 18 (persuasion).
