(I'm at work now so I'll only be able to reply sporadically for the next 8 hours or so)
I stop briefly in the street, before turning sharply in the direction of the shop and start mumbling and making bizarre motions with my right hand. Then I start walking into the shop and gesture that you should all follow. "Come, meet my new friend, he might know something of value" you hear my voice say in your heads.
Xenruth goes inside the magic shop, does anyone else follow?
This is the symbol on the shop sign dangling from chains and carved in the doors as you enter the shop. There is also arcane runes carved into the wooden doorframe around the doorway before entering the shop.
Make a Wisdom saving throw for the professor speaking to you through telepathy! (regardless of intent speaking telepathically to people who don't know you or you intentions is invasive)
Xenruth and Professor entering the shop
The magic shop/alchemist: The shop is a single storey timber framed building, with a smooth stone floor. The doorway is engraved with geometric patterns on both sides of the entrance magic users
know they are wards that protect the building from evil)
Once inside you find the shop has mostly empty shelves but seems relatively cleaner than the outside! The shopkeeper is an elderly male half-fling who seems surprised by your entrance at first!
I glare at the professor and grumble at him that he can keep his voice to himself as I follow them into the shop.
I smile at the halfling because it's nice to see someone who isn't a giant! I greet him and ask how business is while looking pointedly at the patterns on the door.
You fail your Wisdom save and feel the warlock pushing into your mind. You do not appreciate such an intrusion and are shaken but take no damage becoming wary of the old half-elven man. How do you react? Also the half-flings surprise is in fact genuine. He did not expect visitors in his shop, let alone strangers!
Elly, Shadow, Kohl
You all are unaffected by the professor intrusion but are aware the half-elf doesn't seem to want to or might be unable to speak with his mouth, how do you react?

You decidedly notice the shop, although clean, is in disrepair. The half-fling seems to be on his own and although his clothes are worn they are well-cared for. He scurries forward away from the short counter to introduce himself without waiting for anyone asking "I am Thall Borg," he says clutching a collection of protective charms and talismans of Azuth. "It's a...a fine day is it not," he seems to add nervously looking over the party. "Have you...travelled far my friends," the half-fling asks his eyes falling on Elly because they are the only ones in the room, besides Gauldring, that can make eye contact without straining! Addressing Elly specifically "Business? Business is slow seeing you are the first people to come into the shop in...nearly a year," he then says smoothing his wildly kept silver hair with a smile.
You are able to shake off the professor's inturison. The half-fling addresses you "I have! The last traveler that came through the shop was in fact a dwarf! Funny you should mention it! He bought some of my potions, the last sale I made these long months since."
Shadow
Yes you know exactly who the voice is coming from!

"YES!" the half-fling exclaims. "I was most curious about his weapon, a magnificent hammer, and he...he called himself," he pauses, "Alkeor!! He had been sent by his god to cull the evil here," Thall answers. "I...I might have made him a deal better than any other seekers of my potions who have darkened my doors asking for the maze. I am the only one in the village that seems protected," he clutches his symbols, "but still I can not leave here," he adds sounding frustrated and sorrowful. "Your friend," he then says beginning again with a frown. "He seemed so capable but alas the spire still stands," he says, "I am still here," he adds then falls quiet.

But the harder the hero fought, the further the world seemed to tumble away.
Drowning in doubt, the hero could not even save themselves.

Shadow acknowledges Hawthorn's telepathic message with a startled nod.
I stop, look quickly around the shop, and then enter it.

To Hawthorne, "Careful friend, there are things in my head which can be used against me ."
To the shopkeeper: "Master Borg, we're you here when the plague struck or when the spire first appeared? How long ago was that? Are we stuck as well?"
