The corpse of one of the nulls falls lifeless into the bonfire, slowly beginning to burn. Seeing the opportunity, the null behind him lunges towards, stepping on the corpse of its fallen ally and slashes Ellangil across the face, catching him by surprise [7 slashing damage, reduced to 3]. The other null also continues his assault, but misses.
Both nulls continue to attack Vasha. Beginning to learn their rudimentary tactics, Vasha is able to to dodge the null's attacks with ease, evading their claws.

Another null takes the place of the other, and as it does Kayn summons forth another bolt of fire. He hurls it at the null and it flies past it, deep into the tunnels. Seeing the barbarian's injuries, Kayn takes a few steps back and calls out, "Barbarian needs help if anyone can heal."
Veythe bares her teeth when she hear's Vielara's words. Oh she was so done with this shit. Tired, exhausted, wet, her poor babies in need of tender love and care, and now this? These damn puppets of Vielara's design standing in their way, digging claws into their flesh--Veythe was beyond annoyed. Quickly she pulled out her dagger.
"Vasha, duck," Veythe snapped out quickly. She tossed the dagger with a snarl of, "Fly true, Angel!"
Veythe watched the dagger sink into the Null with a satisfied, vicious grin. It wasn't dead, but her angel flew true.
Vesra launched the flame in her other hand at the same null she had just targeted, striking it in the other shoulder in the same place. Kayn's warning about needing to heal the barbarian fell on deaf ears, the kor was much more concerned with felling the adversaries currently in front of her sister. "Forsythia you!" The druid cursed at the undead thrall, who just wouldn't die. "Why don't you come over here and show me what you're made of, you miserable shell."
Hearing the dagger heading toward her, Vasha ducked her head slightly to the right. She felt the breeze of the dagger flying past her ear. Once it had lodged into its target, she straightened up and launched both hands at the foul thing. She smashed both hooks into opposite sides of the creatures head, and felt great satisfaction when it popped like a waterskin that had been filled too full. Blood and viscera flew everywhere, staining her hair bright pink.
(Attacking A2 - 23 to hit for 5 damage, Bonus attack 19 to hit for 4 damage. A2 is dead!)
Ellangil had his rage in full effect and all he could truly pay attention to were the Nulls he needed to kill. As one fell to his mighty weapons, a second came forward and slashed him across the face. Momentarily his head turned to the side trying to pull away from the blow, but the damage had been done. If possible, the wound was only fueling his anger. He growled at the null and spoke as he swung to kill the beast in front of him.
“Pain Heals!” and his bastard sword swung down upon the undead slashing it downward across its chest. He released a red mana point to extend additional radiant damage.
“Chicks Dig Scars!” And his handaxe followed alongside the bastard sword, also striking and scarring its chest. He released the last of his mana extending the radiant damage once again, killing it.
“But My Glory Will Last Forever!” and then spat on the motionless form of the dropped Null before preparing for the next one to come through the flames.
OOC: Bastard Sword 17 To Hit | 6 Damage ; Handaxe 19 To Hit | 5 Damage ; Both weapon strikes had Red Mana attached to them for an additional 8 Radiant Damage (total damage by Ellangil this round 19 HP) Movie Quote: Shane Falco, The Replacements
Kayn moves forward and past the barbarian, extinguishing his bonfire as he does. That barbarians rage was intoxicating, the mana radiating from his attacks fueled Kayn's resolve. These null will fall. As he got closer, a ball of lightening began to form in his hands. The closer he got, the larger the ball got. As he passed the barbarian, it seemed to pulse with the release of the barbarians extinguished mana and the goblin let it loose, aimed directly at the null's head. The head exploded as the ball found its target, spraying the barbarian with the remains of the creature's brains.
(Moved forward 10' extinguished bonfire, Chromatic Orb on null for 24 damage)
There was no question that the barbarian was the powerhouse of the group. Ato watched from behind as he slaughtered a second null in the space of a few breaths. It certainly didn't seem as if he needed whatever small amount of help the her was providing, but Ato hoped he might at least recognize that he wasn't fighting alone, even within the depths of his rage-state.
He did seem to have everything under control though, so Ato looked to see how the girls were faring. He saw one null on the ground and decided to take advantage of that, making a split second decision. He spun and darted in, plucking his twin daggers from his belt as he did so, with a quick double strike, he felt a surge of satisfaction as both blades found their mark.
OOC: Primary hand sneak attack, 20 to hit, 9 damage, offhand bonus attack 12 to hit, 4 damage
Vasha got another full force claw attack, this time, across the face. Managing to remain standing, she retaliated with two quick jabs to its chest. A little extra push, and the bastard was on the ground. "Finish this ****er off," she wheezed.
(Attack against A3 14 to hit for 5 damage, bonus attack 12 to hit for 2 damage, athletics check 18 vs 17, null is knocked prone)
Veythe stared for a second as one of the nulls basically ripped open Vasha--didn't she just heal the girl a second ago what the ****--before she pulled out her sword breaker. Veythe felt herself trembling--fear, anger, frustration, mostly fear--and with a yell of, "DIE YOU ******* PIECE OF SHIT!" she lunged at the null Vasha knocked prone. Veythe brought her sword breaker down.
(attack a3 null; roll 13 to hit and 8 to hit advantage; damage 4)
Vasha was a powerhouse, but Vesra could see just how hurt her sister was. She could practically feel every claw attack that landed on the monk. Vasha utterly eviscerated one of the nulls, but she was swaying on her feet.
Vesra placed a hand on her sister's shoulder and channeled the mana around her. The gashes and scrapes began to knit themselves back together as her magic did its work. Vasha wasn't healed completely, but hopefully it would be enough.
Making quick work of all of the nulls but one, the group soon learns their roles and capabilities while working with each other. Perhaps this was Vielara's plan all along?
The last null, unfazed by the loss of his companions, moves to strike at Vasha. As the claw arcs back, the null's body goes limp, as the the flash of a radiating dagger flies out from the darkness, embedding itself into the null's skull, causing it to drop lifeless before Vasha. A suave human, standing a little over six feet tall, wearing dark studded leathers upon a loose-fitting white under-tunic, calmly strolls out of the darkness toward the party. You recognize him as one of the applicants from above, though never really interacted him. He digs the heel of his boot into the neck of the null and pulls out the dagger, wiping the blood off with his tunic before strapping it back onto his thigh. He looks at Vasha, and flashes a grin, "Heh. Even with null blood mixed into your hair, you still make my heart beat faster."
Vasha held her hooks at the ready. She stared down the newcomer a moment before speaking. "If you want a piece of me, you're going to have to come take it yourself. I warn you, I won't give it up without a fight." Her muscles tensed as she prepared for a strike.
"My name is Vesra," the druid stepped in front of her sister, druid crafting a pink and white flower and holding it in her hand. It was a much different flower than the ones she had given to the rest of the party. This flower meant only one word: beware. He was difficult to read, but then again so was everyone else in their newfound group. Vesra hadn't known a soul this morning, save for her sister, yet they had all fought beside her valiantly. It had seemed that those she had chosen to ally herself with were the ones that had survived, which was an interesting predicament to be in. The kor did not want to be the person who decides who lives and who dies. "Anyone who keeps my sister from getting clawed by nulls is a friend of mine. What's your name?"
The barbarian, with blood stains covering most of the front of his body, took a bit of time working his way towards Vasha and Vesra having come from the southern tunnel. His rage was gone and the nulls were too, but that did not mean that all threats had been eliminated. Each person in this group had different qualities about them that had helped this group survive. Of those qualities, compassion seemed to be Vesra's, which was something he knew he could use more of ... but not in this moment. Both weapons were still in his hands and dripping with fresh null blood as he was able to move as close as this new human knife thrower would let him. Based on the ability to read people, the human would know that Ellangil was not going to attack but ready to if needs be. He did not give the human a chance to answer Vesra yet.
"Though our sweet Vesra has more compassion than possibly the rest of us put together, I am not going to trust you. In two different sections of these damnable tunnels, we have put our lives in each others hands without even having time to really know each other. We have spilled blood together and healed each other when needs be. If you think you can just throw that poosy dagger into the skull of a near dead null, and we'll accept you with open arms, then you're a fuking fool and better off being null food.
How do we even know you haven't hidden from one tunnel to the next waiting for an opportunity to strike? Cowardly tactics have not come from one single member of this group including that little goblin. Viesara did say 'there were seven applicants still left'. Makes me think that is more than she wants. How can we trust you not to try and stab us in the back in order to make that number six just so you could gain acceptance? There are six of us. Exactly what makes you think we'll let you join us? And in case you're wondering, that was not a rhetorical question. I'm positive all of us would like to know the answer to that one.
Kayn wasn't sure how he pulled off such an amazing attack, but he grinned wildly after he did. For reassurance, he stomped in the skulls of the rest of the null before joining the rest of the party. The others seemed to have the situation under control. They were probably better at talking it out than he was anyway. Instead, he turned his attention to the wall that was blocking the exit, and by association, the goblin cowering in the corner.
"Where are are your tools, slave?" He asked in goblin, "Get them, and begin working the wall. We need this open. Now." He kicked the goblin for emphasis.
Veythe breathes out heavily and, with the last null down, quickly retrieves her dagger. She grimaces at the blood on both of her weapons and digs around for a piece of cloth somewhere to clean them off with. She murmurs an apology to her weapons, and her pan flute, and carefully stows them away except the dagger, which she keeps steadily in her hand. She glances to the newest human to stand before them with narrowed eyes. She'd seen him before, vaguely, but she had no idea how to honestly feel about it. She supposed he might be trustworthy.
"Thanks for the assist," Veythe murmured and tilts her head back even as Ellangil began to speak, words a bit harsh, Veythe turned her back to the human to take a look over the party. "Maybe we should just move? Before more of these undead freaks decide to creep up out of the tunnels. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm tired, pissed off, and want to give Vielara a piece of my mind. It's dangerous enough just traveling, but to have to deal with this ******* mess on top of the trip to here? If she wanted to thin out her prospect choices she could've at least devised a better plot." Veythe sheathed her dagger, and her pan flute with a tired sigh. "Or maybe she couldn't," Veythe added in an undertone. "This is a great test of who survives, but **** it if I'm not pissed off."
With a sigh Veythe signs to Vesra and Vasha, are you two okay? And what does that one mean? She tilts her head in the direction of the new human, curious.
It is at this point that Veythe realizes the flower Vesra gave her is missing. She sighs.

He cleaned off his daggers and resheathed them, then gathered his javelins as well. After he noise of battle, the quiet seemed unnatural, but at least now they might hear any approaching enemies.
He took a few steps further down the tunnel into the darkness to the south, listening for just that, tuning out the conversation behind him as well as he was able. Focusing his senses out into the darkness, he listens, trusting his ears over his eyes in the darkness. Nothing. That was good, at least. Another moment to be sure, he finally turns back to the others, confident (for now) that nothing else is coming from that direction anyway. "The south is clear," he offers to Veythe in a low voice. "Nothing else coming from that direction. What is his story?"
Remaining cool and collected, he absorbed the wave of questions and accusations of mistrust and hostility. He extends his hands outward, palms facing up, in a ploy to show both truth and no hostility. "If there's anything these games have taught me, it's that working for this vampire woman is an insane idea. I'm a survivor, and I only care about myself and getting out of these damn tunnels alive. I've clung to the shadows, watching other applicants become overwhelmed because I knew they were going to die with our without me, and only one of those options involved me surviving."
