Alden would frown at Sylcan's dragonchess board and shake his head. "I won't play a game like that, that is all skill and no luck at all..." He pulls out a deck of playing cards. 'Now this is something a bit more my taste..." He would play cards with anyone who wishes.
Sylcan grins mischievously at Alden. "A game of skill that you would have the advantage in, would you not? You must have more experience than I do, especially since most of us here have only just recently begun our lives."
Reviewing 'natural explorer' from the ranger I need to retrack the fact that Naivara had gotten you a bit lost. It appears that is not something that can happen to her, unless magic is used. She never got you lost and you did not lose any time in your travels. You also travel at a normal pace even through difficult terrain.

"Luck of the draw..." Alden says with a shrug. "Yours is all learned strategy and experience, my option is chance and luck..." He puts the cards away if no one wishes to play.
"No worries!" Alden says with a grin. "We'll take the time as teaching you some games and have some fun with it." He would deal out some cards and start to show you how to play various card games. He would explain betting and other aspects of each as you two play. His fingers would move over the cards as if second-nature.
"There's not enough to tell yet, no. We don't know what's important and what's happenstance. But we should try to look for patterns, yes." (Would she have been able to buy a map of the region at the general store? It's not on the equipment page so I'm not sure.) She takes out the blank book she bought and begins to sketch what she can remember of the tower where the items were found, especially how they were stored and hidden. She would also be watching Alden teach Naivara cards, asking the occasional question here and there.

You could have gotten a very simple map of the area around Phandalin and the North. Probably would contain just dots for Neverwitner, Waterdeep, Phandalin, and a few other cities of note. Conyberry, Thundertree, and such would not be on it, just forest labeled in those areas. The only roads of note would be the High Road and Triboar Trail.
"Pretty sure money is not what he is after here," smiled Vilana at Naivarra's learning enthusiasm and returned to the talk. With the map (and pointers they got from locals yesterday evening), they could probably mark each awakening location and location of the items. Investigation: 8
Vilana studied resulting picture for some time before finally asking: "Any ideas? Does it tell you anything?" (She meant Honor and Kierran)
Kierro takes a look at the map. “They’re steadily getting further from Phandalin each time. Since the pills begin at dawn each morning after we find the items, we should stay in Thundertree during tomorrow night if we find what we’re looking for next morning. If the pull is farther west, then we’ll be closer to the next cache of items than if we started to return to Phandalin.”
"Have you noticed, we do not get next pull before we re-united with the soul piece from the previous one? Does not say much, but probably confirms your idea, Honor, that that "someone" or "something" is watching us. You are a holy man, Kierran, how do you call a god - "someone" or "something"?" She smiled though there was a genuine curiosity in it.
"Well, tomorrow is another treasure hunting day, which - almost certainly - will go rough again. I can take dark ours watch, if you wish. Wake me in, when it is my turn." With that she retired to her tent, where she kept the light for some time, but then shut it off.
"I agree that we should stay where we are once we find the source of the pull. A third point will be enough to know if it's forming a line, at least." She stops. "Wait, no, that's wrong, we have three points. Leto had some of the objects -- do we know where he came across them?"

"'Someone,' I suppose, since they're beings. Immortal, tremendously powerful beings, but beings all the same, not things. That would be my view of it." Kierro says.
With the first two watches taken by Honor and Vilana and the last two taken by Sylcan, he decides to have his watch be the last two hours before everyone woke up. He attempts to make conversation, if only to get to know Sylcan better since they had not interacted much before this.

Alden does indeed make indication he wouldn't mind sharing Naivara's bedroll for the night, but is friendly and easy-going about it. He would come off fairly charming.

Naivara can turn him down without any hard feelings, as he enjoys her company regardless, teaching her cards and then turning in, either with her or in the tent with Higgul.

The next morning comes and you set off towards the north again. It is clear, from the tracks, that you are catching up on Mylene fairly quickly now, as your ranger finds you the easiest path through the forest.

That works -- she's going to mark on the map where, as best she can approximate, the items (as batches, not individually) were found.
