So, this is my first time DMing and I wanted to run a PbP campaign. The story will be about betrayal and overthrown governments. Our heroes will be a band of refugees who have fled their native lands after a violent usurping.
The elements of the story will be discussed in the session 0. I'm looking for about 5 players who are willing to post at least once a day.
If you're interested, please express your interest below.
I've never done a PbP game (only IRL games) and have been attempting to join one for a little while now. I would love to join your PbP campaign. Let me know if there is anything else you need (PC idea or anything else like that) besides commitment and enthusiasm.
I'd be interested in joining. I'm playing in one PbP and one IRL campaign, currently. I am in grad school, so there may be times where posting more than once per day is a challenge. But once per day definitely shouldn't be a problem.
I have been inundated with requests by players. I am going to have to put a cap on this session. I am not accepting any more requests; but we might be able to accept new players for House of Artwood (a game I am playing, though you would need to message the DM to see if he has an opening).
So, to those players I have private messaged who got in first, I will be posting the items up for discussion later today before we play through a prologue. After the prologue, we will discuss if you would like to continue; then, if all goes well, we will go on with the full game.
Haven the bard. He's a younger son of a minor noble family. Feeling oppressed by being expected to act a certain way and always pushed aside he sets out to see the world. Naturally the little money he leaves with quickly runs out. Depressed and drinking the last of his coin in a seedy tavern he ends up arguing about one of the few subjects his sheltered life had actually given him a knowledge of. Music. The bard he argues with is impressed and takes him on as apprentice. They part ways later after Haven had learned the basics of the craft mostly due to Haven's stuck up attitude.

First off I'm excited to start this new D&D adventure and to participate in PbP for the first time. Before I get into my character I have some answers to Seifer's questions. I'm okay with a dark story and there is not any subject matter I'm uncomfortable with. I'm in the eastern time zone and I'm normally up at night so anytime after 7 is normally good for me. For if my character knows any of the other characters, probably not. He has lived just amongst his tribe in an isolated forest all his life. So he wouldn't know anyone who isn't a Firbolg and is unsure of how to interact with non-Firbolg. However, he would instantly like and get along with any party member who also shares a connection to nature. As for questions, do you want to see our character sheets, I think there is a way to share them on here. Also, should this thread now be private so as not to confuse anyone looking to get into a game? Are you going to make a seperte thread for the actual game, one where it is all in charcter?
Physical Description: Height: 7'4'' Weight: 260 pounds Skin Color: Light Blue Hair Color: Red Eye Color: Green. Scottie, in terms of Firbolg age, is a young man at 25. For a part-giant race, he is average, maybe a little under average, in height. Like all members of the Firbolg race, he has a big reddish/pink nose that contrasts his blue skin. He wears brown leather boots and tan pants. He wears brown leather armor on his torso with a white undershirt. On his back, he carries a wooden shield that has the Treehugger clan crest carved into it and his wooden quarterstaff. The symbol on the shield matches the symbol on the blue beaded bracelet Scottie wears on his right wrist. His carrying bag is a leather messenger styled bag that he wears on he puts on his left shoulder so it goes across his chest and rests on his right hip. For a part-giant race, he is average, maybe a little under average, in height. Like all members of the Firbolg race, he has a big reddish/pink nose that contrasts his blue skin.
Background: Scottie was born the only child of Elm and Daisy Treehugger; leaders of the Treehugger Firbolg tribe. Elm was the chieftain and head commander of the Treehugger warriors while Daisy was the spiritual leader and healer of the tribe. The Treehugger clan lived in an isolated forest where the men became warriors to protect the forest from enemies and the woman were healers and creators of beauty in nature. Growing up Scottie didn't have a bad life just one filled with pressure by his dad. Scottie was expected to one day take over as chieftain of the tribe. He spent much of his youth training with his dad to be a Firbolg warrior and learning how to defend and lead his people. When he could escape he loved spending time with his mom; just observing nature and all its wonder. Eventually, as Scottie grew he became as somewhat competent Druidic Warrior. However, he still has one final trial ahead of him before he can partake in the ritual to become chieftain of his tribe. He must leave his tribe and forest and not return until he can correctly answer the question: What does it mean to rule over and protect your tribe?

Hello,

Hi JacWalke,
I'd love to have you onboard. If you private message me some details on your character with a little character background, we cam discuss it further.
Hi,
Sounds great. Please private message me with ideas for your character and we'll talk.

Session 0 Agenda:
1. Explain your character's stats and backstory (I'm happy for you guys to manage your own stats and dice rolls through the game).
2. The story is going to have a darker tone (with possible comic relief characters). Is everyone okay with that?
3. Is there any subject matter that makes you uncomfortable?
4. How do your charactersknow each other? Do they know each other?
5. I was thinking we might be able to organise a schedule to play at the same time (if possible)? What times are best for everyone?
6. Any questions?

Could you write a little about your character in the form?
