Betrit moves his full speed of 25 ft but stops short of the wolf opposite Jianyu, unable to reach with his weapon. The wolf lies another 10 ft further away.
Garn, enraged, pulls himself to his feet and and with a mighty swing he kills the burning wolf outright.
Tempest rushes over to Jianyu's unconscious body and utters some necromantic words of healing managing to stabilise Jianyu, who still remains unconscious.
Two of the four wolves are now dead, and one is unconscious and lying prone.
The remaining wolf lashes out and snaps at Tempest.
18 vs AC. 7 piercing damage.
8 against DC11 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Blood rains out of Tempest as the wolf sinks its teeth into her flesh, she is badly hurt by the bite of the wolf and she slumps to the ground, crimson coloured.

As Garn cries out with rage and takes a final swing of his axe another flame shoots from Betrits hand and the last wolf falls dead. Branka suddenly comes into view as he runs eagerly from the direction of the stable. A chewed up remnant of rope flaps in the wind at his collar as he races towards his companion. Soon, folk from the Inn begin to flock from the porch of the Golden Goat, to the scene of the battle. The grass, the wolves, Tempest, Jianyu and Garn are soiled with blood. Only Garn and Betrit stand. What happens next is almost a blur, as the comedown from battle fogs your mind and creates an intense buzzing in your ears. To Tempests dismay, a Ruthenian puts a pickaxe through the skull of each of the wolves, Garn is pulled away by two women (Amber and his mother) and Tempest leans on Betrit for support as they make their way back to the Inn. Jianyu follows close behind, transported by two particularly heavy dwarves, in a bar tablecloth.
The next day, the sun rises behind the veil of a grey, overcast sky. It is about midday, and you have been laid up since last night for a long rest. You find yourself back in the common room, which is now much, much quieter. Garn is no longer among you but you are hopeful he will return shortly. Seated at the very same table you started at last night Amber places a hot steaming plate before each of you brimming with potatoes and steamed vegetables. A fat roast chicken is placed in the centre of the table.
Each of you has regained all your lost hit points and you have earned 100 experience points each.

Jianyu, is no stranger to injuries, having spent his days practicing with the staff in the monastery. He eats happily, his wounds practically only a memory. He won't pass up the opportunity to be doted over, though. Whenever Amber or the barmaids are near he groans a bit as if moving to eat took the greatest effort. His efforts to milk the situation though, would be clear to even the casual observer. Dishonesty isn't really in his nature.
Tempest looks unkempt as ever. The thought of the slaughtered wolves haunts her, though she understands why the townspeople had done it... it still left a bitter taste in her mouth. She quietly thanks Amber for the meal, but struggles to eat. Though she survived, she considers the night to have been a loss for her.
The tiefling pulls her long, white hair around her shoulder and strokes it absentmindedly. She says, "Those poor creatures... they were not right... it seemed like something had come over them." These statements are whispers meant to be heard only by those at the table.

"Aye," Betrit whispers back "I've been chased by a wolf or two in my day but into a town? And with fire? Strange and dark time have come to this area. Ye all did fairly well and I'm plannin' on doin' some searchin' of the nearby areas. Felt safe enough with Branka nearby before, but now? Ye can come with me or not but either way I want to see Garn is well 'fore leavin'. Certainly strong for a pup."
As you are quietly having your conversation at the table a woman wearing a long dark cloak enters the common room. As she pulls back her hood revealing heavy black twists of hair and a dark brown face with a broad nose and a wide friendly smile, you recognise she is the woman whom you saved. She approaches your table and makes a respectful nod and slight gesture with open palms. "I owe you a great deal for your brave kindness, for I may not be standing here otherwise. I am Ganessa," She says with a wise calmness.

Jianyu stands and bows his head in greeting with a friendly smile. He steps around the table and pulls back the open chair inviting her to sit with them, all signs of pain or stiffness evaporating.
Tempest is genuinely surprised to see the woman. Her cheeks flush and she nods at the woman they had saved, "Oh! Hello..." The tiefling gives her a polite nod.

Betrit grumbles in dwarvish about having yet another foreigner in Baylor, how foreigners never listen to dwarves, and how Branka would never let this slight down. He waves over someone in the staff for an ale and begrudgingly listens to whatever this human pup has to say.
She holds out a small pouch in offering. "Please take this as a token of gratitude. I regret I cannot offer you more as our wagon was attacked in the night by the wolves. I am to go back today and retrieve it along with my friends who will deserve a respectful burial."
The woman offers a pouch containing 10 gold pieces.
As the pouch enters your line of sight, Amber places a mug of ale in front of Betrit and holds out an empty palm suggestively (deduct 4 copper pieces from your wealth)

I just know it. Please permit me to accompany you!" Tempest looks down at the table at the gold. "I would be happier to come with you and ensure your safety than taking your money." Betrit has the gold for the moment on his person. You may wanna discuss division of it in the OOC thread.
Jianyu can discern an obvious grief in Ganessas face that she has been trying to hide but as Tempests offer of kindness sinks in the woman visibly struggles to hide her emotions and tears well up making her eyes red and swollen.
The woman offers a humble bow. A gesture of acceptance. "The wagon lies a little south outside the cities boundaries but it's only a mile or so."
