Welcome to the world of Talamh where laws as well as society limits magic to users a part of the religious orders that help to heal and lead under the guidance of four sister Goddesses. There four large cities with high concentrations of mix races but outside the cities there are only pockets of race specific settlements with very few mixing together. Hired by a small religious order on behalf of a mixed settlement of Carrowkeel a unique village of half-elves and humans once famous for producing the best produce and livestock in Talamh. They need you and the party to transport an offering from their small village to the bustling agricultural city of Feirm. The importance of this prompt delivery of the gift is paramount to the survival of Carrowkeel and all who live there. The gift is actually an offering an attempt made by the villagers and their religious advisors to win back the favor of the Goddess Chauntea as well as the ruling council who have shunned the city due to a spreading blight on the land. You know that the small village has created what is said to be a centerpiece for a religious festival of Chauntea held Feirm, the agricultural capital of Talamh, hoping to regain their once exalted position. You still are not sure what your suppose to delivery all you know is you trust Brida Teirney, the young stoic half-elven cleric who brought you here, as well as that you will be handsomely rewarded in gold and a wondrous item.
You and your party have met already and traveled together for two very uneventful days back to Carrowkeel on horseback. You've arrived just as the sun is slipping from the sky and find the fields outside of Carrowkeel nearly deserted. The farmers instead have ended yet another long hard day's work in the fields and begin to pass by with carts of produce they are wheeling towards the village off the main road along a narrow cart path towards Carrowkeel nestle amongst the flat farm lands sticking out with two and three story buildings, the most visible the large white temple of Chauntea. Brida greets everyone as they pass having turned off the main road with them going towards the village. As you approach you notice many carts of vegetables and fruits which are puny and rather unappealing, as if some sort of blight is to blame. As you come closer to town you see the carts are assembled in the town's square in a semicircle, row after row all in front of Chauntea's temple. The villagers themselves look gaunt but still pleased to see the cleric as well as you! They call out happily to greet Brida and all seem curious about you! Their faces seem hopeful that their young priestess was able to find good people to finally help them!
Coming closer to the village, Darik will look to the sky thinking about his adopted family for a split second.
"Brida, will we be resting her for the day? If so is there anything else you need of me? If not I'll leave you with the group as I check the perimeter. Anyone want to join me?"

Saarebas cannot help but look sadly at all the farmers trying so desperately to provide whatever they can to this offering. If anyone is struggling with their carts Saarebas will get down and help them carry their cart to the offering site.
OOC: Beasty totally okay, great start so far guys!
"Darik there is a watch and I good one see you did not even notice them as we approached the village! You know rangers! We do not have a small scouting party that watches over the village but they can not leave it unguarded to take me back to Feirm with the gift. Please come meet the people you have agreed to help! They are curious to meet you, all of you," she added her tone happy.
After making it into the square to a hail of applause and cheers, Brida dismounts and allows a village boy to take her horse back to the largest tone building in the town square, the temple of Chauntea. Brida turns to you and asks you to join her. You will rest again at the temple this evening, and you remember on the road her village his hosting a feast in your honor as thanks for taking on the task of transporting their offering!
Following Brida towards the temple a human man steps from the cheering crowds towards Brida. He once was a tall man, health looking but now is slightly bent as if having worked too hard far too many years. Brida doesn't speak to the man only embraces him tightly before he murmurs something in her ear. They part and she turns towards you holding her hand out.
"Father these are my companions come to help us," Brida says brightly. "Darik," she says holding a hand to the dragonborn who seems to have followed her closely since they left Feirm, whom her father as well as the rest of the villager are in awe. Dragons but they...they doesn't exist! Moving her gaze next to Saarebas the half-orc who's silently looking around the town as if sizing it up. "Saarebas is a sailor Da," Brida then says catching the half-orc's attention now mentioning his profession, "not quiet like you I bet but a sailor just the same," she adds as Oryn reaches out to shake Darik and then Saarebas' hands. Brida then gestures towards Erevan and Willow not too far from her the group of villagers parting to let the shorter companions pass and rejoin the party collecting outside of Chauntea's temple. "This is Willow," she says gesturing at the sprite of a girl, "and Erevan," she adds smiling. "He'll play you a tune that'll make you weep and then tell you a joke that'll split you in two laughing," she exclaims as her father's eyes meet each of you with a soft smile on his wrinkled face.
After the introductions you can't shake the sense of being watched. Not just from the townspeople who all look happy, grateful even you've arrived. You then look towards the steps of the white stone temple to see a large hooded figure standing as if waiting to be acknowledged. Brida looks up at the figure before looking away quickly back to the four of you.
"Come," Brida says with a slightly concerned tone, something you have never heard in her voice before. "We have...have to check in," she says next leaving her father with another embrace before holding a hand out for Willow to grasp before moving forward the crowds parting again.
The sun is setting and the smell of decaying vegetation fills the air as well as the smell of the smithy not fair from the square. The night is peaceful until the sounds of a hammer on iron rings out into the dusk then the sizzling sound of quenching metal. Brida looks towards the sounds her feet on the base of the steps to Chauntea's temple and grips Willow's hand a little tighter. You swear you see a soft smile on Brida's lips looking towards the smithy, where a dark elf is working, but feeling her gaze is noticed the smile falls and she looks ahead again towards the hooded figure who has remained, unmoving, on the steps above.
"Come," Brida then calls out her voice slightly lighter than before. "Rest, eat," she adds next smiling down at Willow who's now very much a concern to her, "We'll see if I can keep up on my flute with you and Erevan," she says happily before casting a glance at the elf beside her on her left as Saarebas and Darik flank them on the steps.

Saarebas is really liking these people. He is excited to be in this village and will keep an eye out for young people who might make good sailors. However, especially after seeing Brida reaction, doesn't trust the figure in white and is trying to gauge Brida's reaction to him.
Saarebas: You get the sense in a village of equals this being has put himself above everyone but most especially you and then party. Although he nods in greeting to Brida he then gestures for everyone to enter the temple behind him but he does not offer any sort of greeting to you or the party. This being is for a lack of a better term: a dick.

Brida, having tried to instinctively to shield Willow, now rushes towards the older elven priest who you all get the impression is NOT impressed by you unlike the villagers outside. Brida begins to speak and the elven man but he holds up a hand to silence her. Brida then falls silent, her expression somber until she realizes you're with her. Then she turns and flashes a soft smile to all of you, the sight of you behind her stealing her resolve.
"I knew you were too young, too inexperienced to be trusted with this task," the older elven man begins his tone annoyed. "Still the villagers did not heed my warning," he adds as he hurries you all into a small empty chapel, away from the great hall you entered in, before he closes the solid wooden door.
"But they did send me, they did choose me," Brida retorted once no one else from the village can hear her talk back. Her tone is louder than even the old even priest expected! "These are good people and they have come to help us," she adds her voice stealing further nearing defiant making the older eleven man smile wryly.
"Misfits the lot of them," the older elven man replied his tone hard looking down his long slender noise at all of you a flicker of arcane energy in his pale blue eyes! "I don't know if I can trust you with this task now! It looks like these two," he points now at Saarebas and Darik, "these two are the only two who can wield a blade I gather from the look of them," he adds his tone almost assumed. "That was your task novice! To find and hire sellswords," he growls next. "Not to adopt a feral child and bring a musician to entertain you on your way," he exclaims huantily!
Glaring at all of you now the older elven man shakes his head and then sighs gripping a symbol you know is Chauntea because Brida wears the same. As he sighs again and Brida stands her ground between you all and the priest you finally see a glimmer of exhaustion about the stern elven man. Smoothing his shoulder length, ash blonde hair he seems to calm himself.
"You leave in the morning for Ferim and with the fate of our people in your hands young one," he begins around his tone less harsh but still hard. "Let's hope you're right about them," he says next before leaving the chapel entirely in another door behind the altar in another flourish of white robes.
Brida turns to you speechless but her expression is oddly jovial. You know she's trying to seem unhurt by her leader's hard words. This is someone who know that she has spoken of often on the road and now you gather from his position must be high priest Leoric Ballen.

"I follow her guidance," Brida says clutching her symbol of Chauntea around her neck, a wooden carving of a bow of wheat tied together, and sighs shaking her head. The room is large but narrow and has many beds twelve in total but only three have occupants, "Take whatever beds are free," she explains gesturing inside. "You can find me in the kitchens once you've settled," she added gesturing from the threshold of the dormitory towards another set of doors to the back of the hall.
