Frilavor liked at Sayre as she walked off and looked down guilty as he went to the tavern ordered some food and had some dinner and once he finished he went to the far side of the room and went to sleep on the floor facing the wall and after a while he did in fact fall asleep late into the night
DM: As long as she gets a long rest when/after being injured Sayre's fine! Too bad we haven't got a healer tho! Maybe we should shop for another character or two? I'll recon my other statement for this first however! What time is it?

Dm note: She does get the benefits of a long rest during this night. You do have a "healer" As victor has multiple healing abilities. As for stopping for another character, This could be done but it would increase the difficulty of the Campaign overall as it was meant for 2-3 players. Having 4 would mean I would have to change alot of things to suit the additional character which I may do. After signing the contract and having the bath sayre. I would say it is about 3 in the morning. You have been asleep for around 4 hours.

Victor comes to the door, fully dressed but half awake, with a small smudge of ink on his cheek. Behind him are candles burned down to almost stumps, an unslept in bed and half a bottle of wine next his notebook. Moments prior Victor was asleep at his desk, admittance as he does on occasion. "Hey there... um... everything ok?"
Serik felt eyes on him as he sat down at the table in the Tavern. He wondered for a moment if it was because of the emerald green feathered owl that hopped down from his staff to the table, his unshaven and unkempt face, or just his grey skin that was making people stare...but then he remembered that he didn't care.
A girl came over, dressed in an apron, and Serik nodded to her, dropping a few coins on the table. "Tankard of Ale and some food for me and my friend." He said softly. The girl nodded and collected the coins and disappeared. Serik watched the Owl, who was turning his head in every direction, watching out for trouble.
By the time the girl returned with his Ale and food, the Tavern had returned to a full roar as people went back to whatever they had been doing. The girl set a plate of meat down for each of them and set the Ale down where he could easily reach it. "Thank you." Serik said in the same soft tone, setting a few more coins on the table for the girl, who eagerly took them and went about serving others.
Serik ate in silence, keeping his staff in his left hand while he ate and drank with the other. The Owl ate as well, picking the meat from off the bones with it's beak. Finishing his meal, Serik sighed contentedly. It had been some time since he had had a good meal, which was normal for a Hunter of his caliber when chasing a contract. His eyes roamed the room, tho few dared to meet it, and he scratched at his beard, another thing he needed to take care of now that he was back. A good shave and a haircut would serve him just fine, not to mention a decent night's sleep in a bed.
Devynn Windtrack is a tall human, across is back is his great sword and it is obviously not just for show. As he walks into the tavern he walks straight to a dark corner. This hunt was particularly long. His quarry wasn't too difficult to dispatch once it was found though, that was good. He sighed and ordered a goblet of mead. He needed something sweet after the news he had gotten.
He hadn't known Lomin well, but he had hunted with him on occasion and to find out he died. He was a good soldier. "To Lomin" he says quietly holding his goblet high. He sits in the corner nursing his drink wondering what was next for the old soldier.
OOC Devynn is 6'2" dark hair, beard he has the bearing of a soldier, and while he considers himself old he is likely in his mid thirties.

Serik and Devynn, You both had just finished a rather wild and Potentially life threatening hunt, Your quarry was a adult white dragon. While it was a dangerous contract, you eagerly accepted it as it was a challenge neither of you had faced before. While it looked as if the beast would get the better of your both, threw perseverance and teamwork you managed to slay the dragon, returning to the Take to claim your reward and find some much needed R&R. Upon your return you learned of the Death of a Fellow Slayers Take member, Lomin Kael. Neither of you had known him that well but he was a Fellow hunter and for that reason you mourned his loss. Sitting in opposite parts of the same small tavern, You both occasionally looking at one another. You noticed another member of the take, Passed out on the floor. His name escaped your memory yet you both knew that he was a common problem for the Take, Speaking out of place and causing trouble amongst its members.
Not long into your night a Tall and Imposing man entered into the Tavern. Even Towering over you Devynn, He is a pillar of strength and honor. A man both of you know well, Locke Feld. He is perhaps the Best Hunter In the take, Capable of undertaking contracts no other hunter would. As Well as the Future Dawn Marshal in the Braving Grounds. All noise in the tavern ceases. A Clear sign of the fear and respect that Locke Carries with him. "Serik! Devynn!" His voice is deep and Commanding, "I have a Job for both of you, Come to the Take." Lockes eye fall onto the Hunter who is passed out on the take's floor, with a sneer of disgust He leaves the tavern. A few more moments of silence in which all eyes fall on the both of you.

Devynn sighs and sets down his unfinished drink. "Coming, no rest for the weary..." he mumbles. He was really looking forward to some downtime. There was this little half-elf bar maid he wanted to try and get to know better.
He starts the walk to the Take wondering what was so important as it couldn't even wait until morning.
Serik quickly downed the rest of his Ale and eyed the Owl. The Owl spread it's wings and hopped up onto his staff and Serik stood. He saw Devvyn leaving as well and followed after him. "It's always something... isn't it?" He asked quietly once he had reached the man's side. Devvyn was only slightly taller then himself, which made their strides about the same, and Serik had never particularly found it hard to keep up with the Fighter.
Once outside the Owl had taken flight and flew above them, riding what few thermals were to be found and keeping watch upon the pair, the magical link between them active and strong.
So you both make your way to the Slayers Take, It isnt that far away from the Small tavern you were both in. There is no sign of Locke in front of you, For a Old man he is surprisingly fast. The Night is cold, Light snow is falling and has covered the stone walkway in front of you. 5 minutes of steady walking brings you both to the Slayers Take, You take a moment and dust the snow from your clothes, kicking it off your boots. You can hear chatter in Vanessa's office, The voices of Locke and Vanessa seem to be arguing. Murtin is no where to be found, The Halfling must have surely retired for the evening. There is dim light in the General area of the Take, From a low burning candle atop Murtins old, wooden desk. The door to vanessa's office is open the imposing form of Locke can be seen in the doorway, The sounds of a raging fire place can be heard in between the voices. "I Told you he was a bad choice for the contract!" Vanessa exclaims. Locke turns his head and notices you both, having just arrived. "Ah, there you both are, Please come in." He Steps inside the office, Awaiting you both.

Devynn walks in. He nods toward Locke and Vanessa in turn, "Evening Vanessa... you sent for us?" He was hoping this might be for a contract that wouldn't start for a few days, but he had never said no to a contract before and both Locke and Vanessa knew it.
The Owl alighted upon the top of his staff as they approached the Take and Serik followed Devvyn into the study. The man hadn't said anything to him on the walk over...but that didn't really surprise him. "Greetings Milady" Serik said with a small, respectful bow to both Vanessa and Locke. The Owl pruned some of his feathers, but remained vigilant.
Vanessa is visibly exhausted, She looks like she has been awake for days. Bags under her eyes and barely able to stay awake. "Serik, Devynn. I know you both just got back but we have something we need you to do." She leans on the front of her desk and folds her arms. Locke steps to her side, Dwarfing the purple skinned tiefling with a mssive and muscular frame. "We have assigned a Contract to Sayre and Victor. While they did have another with them, We have both decided he is unfit for the task." Locke runs his hand threw the long grey beard that hangs from his jawline. "When I sought both of you, I witnessed the man passed out on the floor. This is not one who represents the Slayers take in a manner befitting us all, As such we have made the choice to exclude him from any contracts going forth and revoke his Bind to the Take." Locke steps towards you both "You both are experienced Hunters, You both act with Honor and Pride. We wish for you both to assist your Fellow Hunters, Sayre and Victor. In a Contract involving a murder that has transpired in the Velvet cabaret. Naturally we compensate you for any time you put into this endeavor."
Vanessa produces a Light contract which states that you will be compensated for your involvement in the matter. This is effectively a Side Contract in junction with the Contract already issued to Victor and Sayre, You are to work in conjunction with them. Acting as a team towards the same goal, Yet you have no say in the matters they complete their contract. Once signed you are to effectively act as "Advisers and Companions". Assisting them in Both solving the matter at hand and any conflict that they find themselves into. With you both being senior members of the Slayers Take, You have control over how your side contract ends. It can End with the completion of the Contract sayre and victor have, Or by simply opting out during the investigation. Once Your Contract is fulfilled you will be rewarded the Sum of 2000 gold pieces each By Vannesa Cyndrial and Locke Feld. You forfeit this reward If you opt out of the contract and One or more of the Slayers Take members perish.

Devynn smirks a bit, "Come on Vanessa, most of that contract is fine, but... really? Nothing if one of them dies? I'm to be held responsible if they pick a fight with a goliath? Or poke the wrong dragon. Surely there must be some room for getting paid even if one of them die by their own doing. Or maybe we can negotiate that final payout so that it is worth the risk."
He stands up straight, "As for opting out... you know me better than that."
"We do not Opt out... especially where Slayers are concerned." Serik said softly to Vanessa, but with a hardness that suggested commitment rather then disrespect. He looked over the contract again, and noticed that technically they only forfeit the reward if they opt out and then one of the other Slayers die... "Which is why I will take this contract." He eyed Devvyn, he knew the man well enough to know he wouldn't back down from this, but he wasn't going to speak for him.
He withdrew a small dagger and cut the inside of his palm, drawing blood. A single drop was all that was required, but Serik was not the type to do things by half measures. He let several drops fall next to his name and signed the paperwork before bandaging his hand. He knew he could heal this wound with ease, and he had just spent several very long days healing himself and Devvyn as they wore down the dragon, so he wasn't worried in the slightest about such a tiny wound.
Locke gives you a respectful bow Serik, Something He commonly did yet it always carried a certain weight to it. It was A very clear and very strong sign of Respect from Locke. "Thank you Serik, I knew you would see reason in this. You have always been a Intelligent and Forth right Individual, The Take is fortunate to have a Member such as yourself. As well as you Devynn." The Monk of Kord turns towards you Devynn, While larger then yourself. You feel no fear or intimidation for the man, partly because you have slain larger but also because you knew he meant no ill will towards any of his fellow Slayers. "I think you have the wrong idea here Devynn, We want you to not only help your fellow Slayers but also protect them." Vanessa pipes up; Grabbing the contract and bringing it to you. "Both Serik and Yourself have more experience in Hunting the Odd and the Unique then any other Member in the Take, Save for Locke here." She gestures towards locke. "You both have Slain Dragons, Forced A herd of Goliaths from the lands around Vasselheim and Hunted down demons. In our eyes you are the best experienced for this Contract along with Sayre and Victor. Yet If it comes to a Fight, We would prefer if you both would be there To aid them given Your particular areas of expertise and Experience." Vanessa's White eyes flick between both of you Serik and Devynn. "Dont get the wrong idea about your fellow Slayers, They can hold their own as they have proven many times before, But Theirs is the more tactical approach. Catching their foe by surprise When it comes to a Straight up fight, Theres very few who could Contend with you both at your best."
